This actually isn't the Jackson 5, it's "Jackson's". The Jackson 5 were Jermaine,Jackie, Tito,Marlon, and Michael. The Jackson's were Jackie,Tito,Marlon, Michael, and Randy. The reasoning was a contract issue with Motown (Jermaine stayed with Motown when his brothers left for another label, probably because he was married to Berry Gordy's daughter at the time) also there are 3 sisters Rebbie, LaToya, and Janet
This reminds me of the Jackson’s (Michael) pre “Off The Wall” period when he’d could still shop with his mom at Gelsons Market in Encino. Friendly, sweet...and would help his mom do the shopping and load their groceries into the trunk. The Jackson family produced exceptional music and are down-to-earth with great appreciation for the fans who continue to honor their legacy ❤️
Like you, I have never heard the this song, It was good to see Michael free and happy and unaffected by the weight of his global fame. It was good. made me smile. I was born in the same month in the same year. Michael would have been 62 this year. Frank Sinatra, Elvis, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, these bright stars only come around once per generation.... Thanks for the reaction. Thanks for the music.
Us “ old people “ remember all of this we were all the same age as they were from the Jackson 5’s first album until now, we call the Jacksons Black Music Royalty because they were the best and no other singing family claimed the throne. And you missed out if you never saw them live, I did when they were young (The Jackson 5) and when they were older (The Jackson’s), and I saw Janet live twice too!
Michael seems to look happiest singing. I guess its where he felt himself, and who he was. Though his life didn't seem to take that same enthusiasm. As he always wanted to look like someone else. Being a man in a boys life, so much pressure. Great artist.
When Michael was at his BEST! The Seawind horns, musicians....only the best!! One of the best 70s album...classic. Now....another from this album...Shake Your Body Down to the Ground....
This is still one of my all time go to happy songs on my play list. Michael was so dang cute. You have got to go back to when he was little as well. I also loved Can You Feel It.
The Jacksons were the later years of the group when they signed with Epic Records. As was already mentioned they couldn't use the name The Jackson 5 as it was owned by Motown. Also as said Jermaine remained with Motown and Randy joined in his place.
India Reacts Rebbie Jackson, La Toya Jackson, Janet Jackson are the 3 daughters out of the 10 children of the Jackson Family...from Joe & Katherine Jackson.
If memory serves me correctly, THE JACKSON5 from 1965-1975, while under the Motown label. 1976-1981 while Epic and Philadelphia international records THEY WERE KNOWN AS THE JACKSONS
He was 5 years old when he started performing. His father had been booking the olders boys as a group, trying to hit it big. Michael was making his bed one day, I think he was 4 years old at the time, and he was singing as he did. His mother overheard him and got his father, telling him, you need to hear Michael. They did hit it big, but not nearly as big as Michael did solo. There is another sister, LaToya. Janet was on a TV series called Good Times. She played the neighbor's daughter. She sang on the show.
Here are some more Jackson cuts you should check out: "Can You Feel It", "Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)", "Show You The Way To Go", "Enjoy Yourself" "Dancing Machine" as well as Michael's first solo "Ben" and Michael with his nephews 3T "Why"
You gotta hear “Rockin Robin.” We used to do this “hand dance” type deal back in the day- not sure the actual name of it- but we got in a circle and the hands got to going! “Rockin Robin” was THE song we’d do that to! ❤️✨✌️
I love this song great beat don't blame it on the sunshine don't blame it on the moonlight don't blame it on the good times blame it on the boogie the blur effect in the video is pretty rad also
Thanks for this video! This was actually The Jacksons, rather than the Jackson 5. When the brothers left Motown to join CBS (now Sony music) they had to leave their old band name behind because Motown owned the name. Jermaine stayed at Motown and Randy, who was not in the original lineup, joined them at CBS. Dancing Machine from the Jackson 5 is a great video to react to especially if you can find one of the live versions where Michael is doing the robotic dancing well ahead of his time. Also, the entire Motown 25 performance where all of the brothers, including Jermaine, are reunited on stage in 1984, is a really special moment in pop music history.
They were known as the Jacksons at that point. They couldn’t take the J5 name with them when they left Motown records. You should react to “Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground” next. You need to use the video of the song to get the full effect and see them dance.
This was also a turning point in their Career. It was their 10th Anniversary in the Music Business since "I Want You Back" and this was from their Album Destiny in 1979. It "Saved" Their Career at Epic before it was known as Sony. Their Two Previous Albums Enjoy Yourself & Going Places flopped. They almost go dropped but after Michael & his Father Joe talked to Executives they asked to write produce compose and arrange and it paid off in dividends. It was their First major hit since enjoy yourself. Their Brother Jermaine stayed at Motown who was in a more complicated situation because he was married to the daughter of Motown President Berry Gordy Jr;, also because they signed with Epic Nine Months before their contract ran out, and got slapped with a 20 Million Dollar Lawsuit. They finally settled in 1981 where they paid Motown back $500.000.00 and gave up the rights to the Name Jackson Five. In 2001, a Young Man named Will Young auditioned singing this song on Pop Idol in the UK and would be the first Winner in the history of the franchise.
He couldn't do much about his appearance since it was largely due to the vitiligo (destroys skin pigmentation), discoid lupus (attacks healthy tissue) and the severe skin burns from the Pepsi incident. Any surgeries he had were greatly exaggerated by the tabloids who didn't know or care or understand about his skin diseases. It's all confirmed on his autopsy.
Afros were so popular back then. All of my white friends and teachers were getting perms to get the look! The Jackson Five/Jacksons were amazing! Michael was such a great dancer even back then.
Michael has three sisters and one half sisters. Blame it on the Boogie was done when the brothers left Motown for Epic records and when Randy join the group and Jermaine left the group to stay at Motown. At that time, Jermaine was married to Hazel Gordy the daughter of Berry Gordy, the founder of Motown.
Besides Janet, he had two other sisters; Rebbie the oldest & Latoya. For more younger Jackson 5 hits may I suggest: "Stop the love you save may be your own,"Never can say goodbye" & I'll be there."
Hi India . This is a Jacksons 's song as it's the first one on the CBS/Epic label. When they left Motown said they own the name the Jacksons 5 and if the used it they would be sued. Also Jerrmaine who had been in the first group didn't leave with them. He stayed with Motown since he married the founder Berry Gordy's oldest daughter Hazel at the time. Joe and Katherine Jackson had ten children Rebbie the oldest daughter then son Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, La Toya, Marlon and his twin Brandon( Brandon died a few hours after they were born) Michael, Randy, and last but never least Janet. Also Michael's birthday is on the 29 he would have been 62 years old. All of the Jacskons have their own music . You need to react to Rebbie's music.
This was when they transitioned from the "Jackson 5" to "the Jacksons." Motown owned the rights to the name, Jackson 5, so when they left in "77 and went to EPIC Records they had to rename themselves. This was the first single from the DESTINY album which they are credited with producing themselves. In truth, they had a lot of help from Bobby Colomby, former drummer of Blood, Sweat, & Tears, even though the Jacksons made major decisions on the direction of their music. Colomby helped to guide them on this ground-breaking album that includes the mega-smash signature song, SHAKE YOUR BODY and my personal favorite, The Things I Do For You.
Fun fact, this song was written by Mike Jackson but not that one lol. He was a British songwriter and had a minor hit with it a few years before the Jacksons got hold of it. I think you’d love Can You Feel It? It’s from the same era and is a proper banger!
This song was originally written for a single person. They had just left Motown. Michael was planning om going solo. He eventually left and came out with Off The Wall. This was before Michael became the phenomenon he turned out to be.
Good one! There was a better spirit within our culture then.. The Jackson 5 song Got to Be There( Fact: that song was covered by Chaka Khan) and Can You Feel It. And Michael Jacksons songs, I Cant Help it, Human Nature, Liberian Girl, I Just Cant Stop Loving You, The Earth Song or great songs to do a reaction to. Love you India! Congrats on your progress!
Seriously never heard this song?? I wish I could listen to this for the first time again you lucky thing, my favourite Jacksons song. Check out anything from Destiny, or Triumph as well. Great albums!
This was when they left Motown and were at epic so they had to be called "The Jackson's" because Motown owned the "Jackson Five" name. when they started out Michael was about Nine or Ten years old. This video here has Michael at about 18 or 19 years old. They have three sisters Maureen (Reba), LaToya and Janet. The one playing the bass guitar is Randy the youngest boy but Janet is the baby. Randy had replaced Jermaine in the group officially. Randy was a hell of a Musician but the energy and magic was created by Michael.
3 sisters, eldest Reebie, La Toya and the baby, Janet.. if memory serves from my 1970s Tiger beat... Reebie, Jackie, Jermaine, Tito, La Toya, Michael, Marlon, Randy and Janet.
It was great to see Michael looking happy. The last 10-15 years of his life he never looked happy anymore.
Can’t blame him he went through a lot
He did when he was with his three kids. But other times not so much. And the bullshit 2005 trial really destroyed what was left of his soul.
It was very sad to see him destroy his face with all those surgeries.
I think he was in constant pain.
He was THE GREATEST!!! He did look so happy back then.
This actually isn't the Jackson 5, it's "Jackson's". The Jackson 5 were Jermaine,Jackie, Tito,Marlon, and Michael. The Jackson's were Jackie,Tito,Marlon, Michael, and Randy. Friendly, sweet...and would help his mom do the shopping and load their groceries into the trunk. Gelson’s was there way back when? It’s still there on Hayvenhurst & Ventura.
Also check out their song Dancing Machine, you get to see Michael do 'the robot'
Love that video and song
This one has to be next!!👽
Us “ old people “ remember all of this we were all the same age as they were from the Jackson 5’s first album until now, we call the Jacksons Black Music Royalty because they were the best and no other singing family claimed the throne. And you missed out if you never saw them live, I did when they were young (The Jackson 5) and when they were older (The Jackson’s), and I saw Janet live twice too!
Now, its time for "Can You Feel It" by the Jacksons. You are going to love the song and the message...jam on, my sista!
Michael seems to look happiest singing. I guess its where he felt himself, and who he was. Though his life didn't seem to take that same enthusiasm. As he always wanted to look like someone else. Being a man in a boys life, so much pressure. Great artist.
"Stop. The Love You Save", "Dance, Shout", "I Want You Back", and "Dancin' Machine".
Greatest Musician and Entertainer of all time!!!! Love it so much!!!
The Jacksons - Shake your body
When Michael was at his BEST! The Seawind horns, musicians....only the best!! One of the best 70s album...classic. Now....another from this album...Shake Your Body Down to the Ground....
He never lost that beautiful smile
This is still one of my all time go to happy songs on my play list. Michael was so dang cute. You have got to go back to when he was little as well. I also loved Can You Feel It.
Please, You must react to "Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground)". :)
Michael at his sexiest...he was so freaking cute!
Fun simpler groove. Mike with Diana Ross doing Ease on Down the Road from the Wiz is good also. I like MJ best in late '70s.
The Jacksons were the later years of the group when they signed with Epic Records. As was already mentioned they couldn't use the name The Jackson 5 as it was owned by Motown. Also as said Jermaine remained with Motown and Randy joined in his place.
Shake your body (down to the ground) is another classic !
Happy Friday my beautiful musical friend! What a great way to start my Friday with The Jacksons!
I'm happy seeing a younger generation appreciating great music of the past.
India Reacts Rebbie Jackson, La Toya Jackson, Janet Jackson are the 3 daughters out of the 10 children of the Jackson Family...from Joe & Katherine Jackson.
Michael!!!! Woo hoo. He oozed talent. I forgot about this song. OMG cannot sit still
Jackson 5 Got To Be There, it's a must for you!
I think that's the most Michael ever weighed in his life.
He looked really good then💕
No it’s not lol
No. In history era
LOL no look him up live at MSG.
No he was way heavier in 1996
If memory serves me correctly, THE JACKSON5 from 1965-1975, while under the Motown label. 1976-1981 while Epic and Philadelphia international records THEY WERE KNOWN AS THE JACKSONS
they signed in 1968
So fun! RIP Mike

You're gonna love This Place Hotel- Jackson 5
I believe Michael was about 5 years old when he started out.....loving the jamming India, great idea.🇬🇧💕🇬🇧💕🇬🇧
This and dancing machine easily my favorite Jackson 5 songs. MJ's robot in dancing machine was so sick and ahead of it's time
Enjoyed watching them grow up. Michael was something special.
You gotta hear “Rockin Robin.” We used to do this “hand dance” type deal back in the day- not sure the actual name of it- but we got in a circle and the hands got to going! “Rockin Robin” was THE song we’d do that to! ❤️✨✌️
I love Michael Jackson but the original Rockin' Robin by Bobby Day is better....as was the dancing. ruclips.net/video/4OFESufsZG0/видео.html
You should check out The Jacksons performing Enjoy Yourself at the Musik Laden.
Yes, at your interpretation of this music and video. It's one of my absolute favorites!!
I love this song great beat don't blame it on the sunshine don't blame it on the moonlight don't blame it on the good times blame it on the boogie the blur effect in the video is pretty rad also
Good times🌈😍. This jam will get any party rockin

And now you should react to "Blame it on the Boogie" live in London, which shows you just how GOOD they were as a live act.
Love her response to that song it's so great I can't even say how powerfull it is
the jackson family was just so cool. there were 6 boys and 2 girls and they all became singers at some point.
The fascinating thing about MJ is: Maybe you dont recognise his face, but always his unique voice.
Love when you said this is what happiness looks like :). Truth.
They were known as the Jacksons at that point. They couldn’t take the J5 name with them when they left Motown records. You should react to “Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground” next. You need to use the video of the song to get the full effect and see them dance.
This is my favorite Jacksons song, love the vibe.
He also has a sister named Latoya- ❤️✌️✨
And an older sister Rebbie
A talented showbiz family.
These guys were legends RIP King

This is a childhood song that has a special place in my heart.

Their music still brings joy! Love the reaction! Love your trophy 🏆 on the shelf! Well earned!
This song is a jam!
CLASSIC Jacksons!!! What a DAMN SHAME Michael didn't have enough people telling him he was Beautiful Just The Way He Was!
Hey sis just to let you know there are three sisters Latoya, Janet, and rebbie and the one playing the bass guitar is Randy
