Sir Cliff Richard OBE is a British singer, musician, performer, actor and philanthropist. Richard has sold more than 250 million records worldwide. He has total sales of over 21 million singles in the United Kingdom and is the third-top-selling artist in UK Singles Chart history, behind the Beatles and Elvis Presley.
And those figures are over 20 years ago !! So way more now :)
@@csucrr Yes you're dead right! Way over 300 million records sold according to the CRO. (Cliff Richard Organisation) x
Have to play his duet with Olivia Newton John Suddenly!
H.K.Had3/777,Devil Woman!
Cliff is not my kind of music but this is one of the songs I like. As for Cliff as a person, I respect his resilience. He has had to put up with terrible intrusions into his private life and he successfully sued the BBC for news reports which grossly invaded his privacy when he was wrongly accused of crimes which later were shown to be nonsense. It almost killed him, as he says himself.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Robin Meltzer No one in show business has a bad word to say about him, in six decades that says something!
👏👏👏👏👏👏
The media…invading someone’s privacy and lying about them??
NOOOOOOO!!! 🤭
WEll perhaps he was being punished for making this "Devil Woman" song and she was getting him from behind....
Love Cliff Richard ! He was warning people away from the occult in this song. Please listen to more from him. He is amazing!
1970's AM pop radio staple. This song was huge when I was a kid.
Same
Cliff has been around since the early 50's. he is 80 now!!! I can remember standing outside his concert waiting for him to leave so i could get his autograph in the 80's. you should listen to Cliff Richard and Olivia Newton-John sing "Suddenly". thanks for this one, India.
Late 50's!
His first hit, 'Move it' was released in 1958.
OMGosh, he was young in that. I have been lucky enough to see him a couple of times in concert. Never disappointed. He is still performing at 80 years young.
Cliff Richard is one of Britain's most popular singers beginning in 1958 and continuing until 2008 he had 68 top 10 hits 14 of which got to number one.
You have to check his duet Suddenly with Olivia Newton-John from Xanadu on her Hollywood Nights special ❤
Great song. Cliff is turning 80 in October
Cliff is devout Christian and this is a song about temptation.
Yeah, I kind of took it as a statement where the Apostle Paul had said that evil communications corrupt good manners (King James Version - other versions say "Bad company corrupts good character.").
One of my favorite singers. He had so many hits through so many decades. “Miss You Nights” is one of my favorites.
Well put Sarah. My favourites are "The Nightmare (A Time For Absolution)" and "The Gambling Song."😀x
70's classic from Sir Cliff, great guitar in this
You should also try 'Dreamin', 'Ocean Deep', and my favorite, 'We Don't Talk Anymore'.
"Dreamin" Yes!!
@@sodone4078 you should seriously try 'Ocean Deep', it was never played on the radio station back home
Cliff Richard is a very successful singer in the UK, and has been around for a very long time. Formerly, he used to perform with a band called 'The Shadows', before parting ways to his own stuff, however, The Shadows went to become successful in their own right. There are no singers in the Shadows, its all instrumental, but their songs are very famous, in particular 'Apache'.
One of my favorite songs since I was a kid. I can't even explain how much I love everything about it! Thanks for the reaction!
A favorite of mine! Always love the groovy beat and that bass line ! 🧡✌️✨
We don't talk anymore was another big hit for him off the top of my head.
Not my favorite of mine but he had lots of great hits. "We don't talk Anymore" would be better. Big star in the UK for decades. He had even been knighted....so "Sir Cliff".
Wired For Sound
We Don't Talk Anymore is the only one of his I can really listen to. I'm not a fan in general. You have to respect the longevity though.
@@TheLucyblades I'd rather listen to him than watch him. He had a movie or two in the 60's I think.
@@TheLucyblades You haven't known Cliff Richard until you see his DVD performance as 'HeathCliff' filmed in late May 1997 Lucy! To sing 'I curse the god or man who made me' for 120 nights on stage, is a very daring thing to do for a committed christian of then 33 years!😀
Wow missed this ! Love love Cliff since 9 yrs old just seen him in his 80's Tour his dvd still in the charts ,(I am 71 he is 81 , loved him since I was 9 yrs old
Van Morrison & Cliff Richard : Whenever God Shines His Light On Me. Fantastic!!!
Enter in the world of Cliff Richard ... you will not regret
I love Cliff Richard. Thank you for this. I would love for you to react to his song: "Some People" :-)
The irony of this song is that Cliff is famous in the U.K. for being a devout Christian
There is no irony
The song is a warning about the occult. So very appropriate for a Christian to sing.
He is a devout Christain and this song is about the devil. 🙄🙄🙄
Another fantastic song from the past
Love Cliff Richard
Oh wow!!! Great old song!! Remember blasting this when it came on the radio in the car!
Sir Cliff Richard. Awesome to see you reacting to him. Had massive success in the UK, but globally relatively unknown. Often referred to as the Peter Pan of Pop. Been around since 1958, 14 UK no 1 Singles, and a number one in each decade from the 1950's to the end of the 1990s, the only artist to ever have a number 1 single in the UK over 5 consecutive decades. He has released over 130 singles, 68 of them reached the UK top 10.
Other songs to check out. " We Don't Talk Anymore", "Wired For Sound", " Baby, You're Dynamite", "Ocean Deep", "The Best Of Me", "It's Gonna Be Okay" with the Piano Guys, "All I Ask Of You" with Sarah Brightman, " Suddenly" With Olivia Newton- John,
'Globally' he's huge!
He's only unknown in the USA, because they have a million and one of their own singers.
They have no idea he has had a No1 in every decade, from the 1950's right through to the 2000's!!
No-one else has done that!
ONLY unknown in the USA. Huge success in Canada in the 60's ( including 4 #1s) and again in the 80s, when the USA caught on a bit. He did a huge North American tour in 81, 18 shows in US, and same number in Canada (1/10th US population. And the next year he came back to Canada for another big tour, with only LA in the US. He appeared on all the big US talk shows, music shows, and hosted Solid Gold for about 6 weeks.
We Don't Talk Anymore was the 6th song played on the first day of MTV. Dreamin' and Little In Love were also played in the first 50, and all played a second time, for a total of 6 in the first 100 videos.
@@csucrr
And I still stand by what I said before.
He's unknown in the USA.
I bet you'd be very lucky to find anyone who could name more than a single CR song!
@csucrr fyi in 1982 he also had a concert in NYC at the Savoy theater.
As a fan of Cliff Richard for over 40 years who was born, raised and lived all my life in the USA 🇺🇸 I have to agree with your statement. I can honestly say that in my life I have only heard six different songs by Cliff Richard played on the radio. Besides this song the other songs I have heard are “We Don’t Talk Anymore”, “Dreaming”, “A Little In Love”, “Suddenly” with Olivia Newton John, and one time and one time only I heard the song “Please Don’t Fall In Love” played on the radio. For myself I am making a list of my 1001 favorite Cliff Richard songs. So far my list is only up to about three hundred and something songs. I cannot name all of my favorites but I will give just one favorite from each decade. 1950s No Turning Back; 1960s Without You; 1970s Going Away; 1980s Locked Inside Your Prison; 1990s I Do Not Love You Isabella; 2000s Thousand Miles To Go; 2010s Reborn; 2020s Falling For You.
He recorded probably the first credible British rock and roll record, Move It.
Yes, and John Lennon said the same.
This is when songs told a story...not just the same thing over and over
OMG I forgot all about this song! Thank you India and thanks to whoever suggested the song! This was one of our beach songs when I was young that I haven't heard in decades. Fantastic tune!
This is on my Halloween playlist...lol
'Some people' & 'Pretty one' are cool tracks as is 'Wired for sound'. My wee mum was the biggest of fans of Sir Cliff. He's 80 this October 14th. Wee bit of trivia, India🏳️🌈🇬🇧🏴❤️
I'm a fan I enjoy his music.
I was in 6th grade, listened to Larry Lujack, "SuperJock" play this on 890 WLS in Chicago. In 2021, it's still a strong Classic Hit Song!
Sir Cliff!! You should check out his backing group, The Shadows
I was a junior in high school when this came out. I remember walking around with my best friend and saying: "If I was only able to listen to one song the rest of my life, it would be this." Thank goodness that never came true.
That's interesting :) Cliff has said, if aliens landed on earth, and asked him "what do you do?" , he would play them Devil Woman :) LOL
This guy had some really great songs other than Devil Woman. Like we don't talk anymore, Dreamin, Carrie, My pretty one, Living doll with the young ones (I prefer the comedy version), Some People
I think I was about 11 or 12 years old when this came out! Good Lord, I feel old now!!
Oh, yeah! Great song by Cliff Richard!! (I bet you'd like Suddenly with Olivia Newton John, too)
Miss you Nights is a beautiful Cliff Richard song that nobody else has covered.
Great Song!
He's got so many hits but the two that stand out are. We don't talk anymore and suddenly with Olivia Newton John who he was in love with
Weren't we all in love with Olivia?
I'm gay and I still fell in love with her!
🙂⚘
Ocean Deep, Miss you nights, Some People, Wired for Sound, ..., all great.
I was just jamming to this the other day driving to work. Great song!
Loved and still love this song. Born in 1970, was a big fan of this song, such happy moments from my youth. Thanks.
Great hits like We Don't Talk Anymore, Dreamin', and Suddenly (with ONJ in Xanadu) a few of his numerous classics and hits. And he's Sir Cliff Richard too.
Oh I love Cliff Richard... The oldest living bachelor he is 81 and he said his father passed away when he was young and he said he needed and wanted to take care of his mother and sister and he said he really thought things through before entering the business cause he said if he did this he wouldn't ever have a normal relationship so if he does become a singer he would not ever get married and he said he actually did this so he could take care of his mother and sister... Sir Cliff Richard is 81 and still looks just like he did in 70s and 80s just has the grey hair now... A very handsome man...
I can remember roller skating to this one. Great song.
India this is what music was like in the Baby Boomer generation. Great lyrics matching up well with the music. Heck the man was knighted. I love it when I meet the kids of today who take to this style of music.
Love Cliff and his music.
YES!!!! GREAT SONG!!!! Bring on Halloween!
So glad you've found, Sir Cliff, play more plz.
Living Doll is good!
I haven’t heard this in years. With Halloween coming up, it was great to hear it.
Miss you nights! , wired for sound, please don’t fall in love.all great songs in my opinion.
He was marketed to be England's Answer To Elvis but he lived to tell the tale. He also was instrumental in helping Olivia Newton-John get her first big break in England that she acknowledged on The Midnight Special in 1980 before Xanadu Came Out. He appeared on her TV Special in Springtime, he never had the same success in America that she did, but in England he is a Icon, and a Legend. He's been Decorated by The Queen, He had a Variety Series that Aretha Franklin appeared on when she sang "Don't Play That Song For Me", and his name has been mentioned on UK Shows like Coronation Street (Britian's Longest Running Soap Opera), and Bad Girls A Prison Drama. In the 1960's his version of "It's All In The Game" was played on American Bandstand but he didn't go far.
Hi india check out Wired for Sound. And Carrie by Cliff Richard amazing songs.
Nice song from back in the day
Congrats India, 200k!
Hitmachine and a Legend. From 1958 to the 2000ers! Solo and with The Shadows.
I was 9 yrs old when this song came out & it scared the bajeezus outta me!! I'm 55 now & can still feel the jitters when I hear it. 😆
It’s interesting that the biggest Great Britain solo star of the 50s 60s and 70s really didn’t have a hit in the US until this song. His entire career has so many great songs going right into the 1980s
Cliff Richard has been around in the uk since the 60's. He was presented as the British Elvis.
He has been known as a big Christian and portrayed as a celebrate and possibly gay. He is very private person.
He has had many hits.
: Summer Holiday.
Daddy's home.
Livin Doll.
Wired for sound.
Mistletoe and wine.
Millennium prayer.
He is known for having multiple Christmas no 1's.
There is no maybe about it-he has been living with his boyfriend for decades.
@@Hi-kq1vi He states it's his manager. What ever he wants to call him, that's his right.
Lol. Cliff Richards is by far NOT A CHRISTIAN!! HE IS A SATANIST'S & HAS BEEN LINKED TO JIMMY SEVILLE
@@truthwarrior7934 Saville.
He's 'been around' since his first hit 'Move it' hit the charts in 1958!
My third favorite song!
Best song from cliff in my opinion
STILL hear this on the radio from time to time. Good-un....
Love it...the electronic sounds reminds me of hospitals and life support....even spookier
Most UK chart buyers know if Cliff and the Shadows.
This was the only Single I bought in 1976, a year later they both released Cliff 40 Golden Greats, The Shadows 20 Golden Greats and both reached Number one..
lol…I like the way you explain your entry…..I paused to text but let’s go!
This a funky song and I never seen you before but I bet you gonna dig it. Cheers girl….lets go!
I'm a big Cliff fan. Have been going to his concerts since 1978. I don't think he has ever left this song out of the set list and often singles this song out as his favourite. He is a Christian and the lyrics mean a lot to him, warning people to stay away from the occult. The live performance he does of the song even now, nearing his 80th birthday this week, is outstanding. The lights used in the live performance just enhance it. Cliff has some brilliant songs for you to review. One of my favourites is 'Can't Keep This Feeling In', which has a great video to go with it. As I said above, he is 80 this week, 62 years in show business and still doing sell out concerts. In fact we should have been attending them this week. Sadly Covid19 has meant they are postponed until next year. x

I could go for days about Cliff, grew up listening to him. But listen to "I still believe in you" and "Ocean Deep".
Wa hey! I recommended this song after you (or was it someone else?) played "Evil Woman," by ELO. Of course, there is also "Witchy Woman" by the Eagles (which will probably be blocked), and "Black Magic Woman," by Carlos Santana.
I haven’t heard this great song in YEARS!
Love Cliff. A very very long career. So many great songs.
Omg I have not heard this song for years. Great pick great voice.
You should listen to more Cliff Richard especially when he was young , songs like " Bachelor boy " , " Living Doll " , " Summer Holiday " , " Daddy's Home " & " The Young One's " . Cliff is a massive name in the pop world 14 no.1 singles, 68 Top 10s and a whopping 124 Top 40 hits.. As a solo male artist only Elvis Presley has had more No.1's than Cliff . Now Sir Cliff as he was Knighted by the Queen twice first in 1980 with an OBE ( Order of the British Empire ) & in 1995 Knight Bachelor .
Sir Cliff was warning people to stay away from the occult. He normally didn’t do songs like this. He didn’t write it. Check out We Don’t Talk Anymore and Now You See Me Now You Don’t. He is a British treasure/legend, also known as M r Christmas for all his Christmas songs. Check out Move it…it was his 1st hit back in 1958. He has never really looked his age. He is known as the British Elvis back in the day. He was knighted by the queen for his philanthropic work. He is a very vocal/ committed Christian and also does gospel records and concerts and donates all the proceeds to charity. A very nice guy too. His secular concerts sell out, his live performances are great, he can really command the audience. He has been in films, TV, theatre as well as his records and concerts!
Sir Cliff Richard is the British Elvis Presley. His career began in the 1950s and he continues to record and perform to this day, nearly70 years later.
Was only Elvis-like for the first few years, then he came into his own :)
Absolute classic
Try some from his movies Bachelor boy, the young ones or when the girl in your arms. Makes me remember my mom she loved cliff.
Cliff Richard was the biggest pop star in the UK when the Beatles arrived. BOOM.
He did kind of get himself together for a second run of hits in the 1970s.
He was recording at Abbey Road 5 years before the Beatles :) Some even say that the Beatles went to Germany cause Cliff and the Shadows had the UK all tied up :)
He had a few hits in the first decade of the new millennium. It was when they started counting streaming that knocked him out of the UK singles charts. His albums still reach the top 5 (be one it in a couple of weeks) and his concert DVDs always hit #1. Last one 2018. This year's tour postponed to next year due to Covid. He would have been in the middle of his tour right now.
Met him in the late 60's
Used to walk his dog in the same park
One of the best pop songs of the last 50 years in my opinion I think because some like to diss Cliff Richard this song doesn't get the kudos it should, I don't necessarily like all his music but to be fair he made some really good tracks and this is right up there for me .
Great song and reaction! Cliff Richard was a British icon in the early sixties who had a brief comeback in the 70’s.
Oh wow so glad you chose this….awesome song
This song is for me "the sound of the 70's". Another song which is even better by Cliff Richard is "We don't talk anymore". I will always remember when I heard it for the first time. It was such a refreshing melody! Love it!
Used to be an annual Halloween song when I was growing up.
I haven't seen you in awhile. Must be the crystal ball brought us back. Love him this song...
Sir Cliff is the 4th best selling UK artist of all time and the only artist to have top 10 albums in 6 consecutive decades.
I love IT ❤
Been his fan since 1060's
Your reactions are just so honest and real. I can feel it.
Do some Cliff Richard wired for sound great video Milton Keynes shopping centre :)
Cliff is fabulous. You have a few hundred great songs to listen to! Ocean Deep is a gorgeous one. So many, many others. One of the greatest voices in rock history. And almost nobody knows about him in the U.S. Only The Beatles and Elvis have sold more records around the world than him.
This song made number 6 in america in1976 The song is from his 1976 im nearly famous album He was 18 years into his career when he made this
The beat, verse, chorus, and hook…
So infectious!!
This is a favorite of mine. Keep up the good work, India.
70s hit. Cool tune. Stay away from that devil women. Jezebel. Lol
i am so happy that you reacted to one of cliff's songs.
i am a big fan.
This was his best era. "We don't talk anymore" and also "Wired for sound" is great!
Excellent reaction to a great classic
