    How do you make money and also have time for yourself? Leave me some suggestions down here!

    • @andrewpatterson9833

      You get good work life balance from a swe/IT career. And also with the push for WFH/many companies have unlimited time off. So, one 4 day weekend every 2 months is pretty reasonable and expected tbh.
      You can also get a pretty decent job if you do a bootcamp and get EXTREMELY lucky to get a job straight out of that. It's a grind, but not a grind even close to as hard as pro tennis of course.

      @@andrewpatterson9833I have a degree in computer science and mathematics. I played around with the idea of doing a remote cs job but the hours still prohibited me to do what I do now. Lots of money in it, but just wouldn’t have the time I need to grind.

      Yes I would buy a van, a stringing maching to offer stringing and if you have time a remote IT gig as you have done computer science. Or alt tennis related YT videos from location

      @@TheSklizo If you can tolerate sharepoint you can make like $125/hr as a consultant with experience, probably $50-85 with not as much, and set your own hours.
      Not many people can tolerate it so there's plenty of work.

    is good to know about your experiences going thru the tour and the hardships that is require just enough to be able to play. keep grinding and keep working on your game. ( i agree with you, the tournaments should definitely help out the players. the more convenient for the player, the more sign ups they will have).

      Professional sports like the buisness world , is cut throat . Only the best make it , no matter how they got there. Both prefer the the outcome of the fight , and support it . Both interests do not want more people entering the market , just the best . Athletes that are there already , I am sure act as gatekeepers internally in order to protect there economic interests and to not lower there standards by having to many entering there space and therefore water down there profits and have to go through many to qualify . This is like a gladiatorial match and yet the only ones making all the money are the hosts of the tournaments , the staff the player needs to hire and the companies that sell to the sport . The athlete like the consumer is a tool , until they have proven there success . When they do , that is when everything by companies that can sell there products through you give you everything for free and pay alot through endorsements . They see the athlete like the consumer as a tool for them to make a lot of money . The companies fought to get were they are , and so they probably see that e eryo e else should to as well . Is the process right , no . This is the result of the lack of heart and social brotherhood , which is why the sport must be protected along with the teachings and identity from all that seek to pervert it , for self interest . The societal structure must change and in order to doso , people must truly wake up to themselves vs controlled by a system of the few , to unfairly control the many that give the few there power , under any name and presumed side . The foundation solidifies us all and threrefore to support pure ethical values , is key .

      The fundamental problem is that the US is too big, geographically. Europe's denser population and greater tennis emphasis mean more tournaments, closer together, and more ability to use trains. That's one reason that European players dominate, and that US players and other players in the Americas often decamp to Europe to play the tours. I don't see how that is going to change any time soon. Maybe some consortium could string together tournaments on the East Coast, one right after another and in some kind of logical order that would make travel easier (perhaps moving slowly north, as temps rise in the spring and summer?), but no other part of the country is densely settled enough to make the idea feasible.

      I am in NY and know the nort east . The only organization would have to be a consortium of clubs with a history of tournaments along with the USTA in white planes along with the center in flushing meadow Park . The other locals would be the previous u.s open grass location in forest hill queens and the tennis hall of fame . Any other locations are very club specific with small entry fee competitions .

    You should consider trying a demo of the 16x20 98 diadem semi control oriented racket. They seem to really want to sponsor people and tennisnerd said the racket was pretty solid. The specs are similar to your strikes. might be worth a look.

    • @TheSklizo
      @TheSklizo  Год назад

      I gave the last gen one a try when I visited the diadem headquarters last year. The frame is really good feeling (I think it’s an old radical clone that they drilled to make it 16x20). Unfortunately I had elbow problems with it. Maybe the new one is better!
      On another note, the people at Diadem are super cool and very nice. Highly recommend visiting their HQ if you have time!

    love your channel and videos, but I'm getting back into tennis so its a good fit for me. But if you want to grow your channel you need to make videos about more things around tennis than yourself. Interview some players, stringers, coaches, anything that shows the inner workings of the tennis landscape. More informative and a cross section of the tennis world to bring in more viewers. I'm sure you will find a common thread out there to focus on, and with time and more videos it should start to work for you. Good luck! I know its not easy. You've got my support!

    I mean ultimately you're playing a rich man's leisure sport. ATP salaries outside the top 200 aren't livable wages either... You gotta be born into money to have a strong chance to succeed unfortunately.
    Racket reviews, match play, hitting with other RUclipsrs, training regimens, drills etc could all be good content for the channel.
