I almost fell into a puppy scam. The person I was talking to made up a really sad story about why she was "giving way" the puppies for free. Only had to pay the shipping. It was only after it felt too good to be true, and ho she lived far far away from where she posted the ad I realized it was a scam. It was confirmed when I asked for a vet number and references. Lots of questions can save people hundreds

Lots of questions can save people can save people THOUSANDS. The scam is clever as once the initial amount is paid the scammer will increase the amount for every subsequent "bill". Of course the victim has already fallen in love with the pet by then. These scammers are literally exploiting peoples love for pets!

As all u know that I am suffering from a fraud done by veselic darko timit-tor since very long time ..
I bought a female in April 2016 from this guy ..male of female (dog) was “Nikita just the thing”..deal was done with a female dog under pregnancy ..
I paid him in full in advance through western union money transfer ...and I am having receipt of the same ... that was my first deal with him and I paid him advance at that time ... he told me that the bitch is under pergenancy period since 45 days ... I demanded him an ultra sound report of the same but he denied and didn’t even sent me any picture of female under pregnancy.. after making full payment he started ignoring me ..and not even responded me about dispatch of my female dog ..
after some time I contacted him and asked him to send my female then he told me to give any other female but I denied to accept his proposal as I wanted the same pregnant female for which the deal was made .. I told him that there is my friend in cyberiya ..I told him to give that female to my friend so that I will manage to bring her to my country but he didnt replied .. then after that female gave birth to 9 puppies at his kennel of whom I was the actual owner as per the deal .. this way he did a fraud with me ..
When I started posting on Facebook about his ridiculous act ..An unethical act .. then he dealt with me..
“That stop posting about my fraud on social media I will give u 2 puppies and I will retain the proceeds of remaining 7 puppies which I already sold “...
I agreed on it and deleted all of my post about his fraud ..
then after on 4th of december 2016 he texted me again that “ hey I am in Bulgaria and my brother is at business place and he is managing to get the breeding ( cross) of the Nikita for pregnancy “ .. I demanded him for the picture of my female dog( Nikita) but any how he denied again to send me the pics by saying that he is in Bulgaria ... I am attaching the screenshots of this chat here under ...
And then I was continously requesting him to send me the ultra sound pics of female but he continuously denying for the same...and saying that “ I am having experience of 27 years and I assure that she is pregnant ...I checked it by her belly” and I trusted him once again ...
then after on 24 Jan 2016 shipping agent went to his kennel and he came out and gave her female as it is ...without giving the Agent any proof of my female dog’s pregnancy like any ultra sound report etc ...
I am having a picture of my dog at with this agent at the time of shipping on 26 January 2017 ..it is clearly seems that through that picture that the female was not under pregnancy period ..
On 27 January morning my female dog had arrived India .. I made her video on that time and sent this video to mr. Darko and told him proofing that this female is not pregnant ... he started abusing me after that and started saying that u must have made abortion of this female .. then I told him to give my 2 puppies as decided earlier but that too was not sent by him ...
and my female had not gave birth to any puppy in india even ..
When I get that female at my home ..she was already ill like cough with blood, blood vomiting etc ..I told him about all this then he again told me
To not to post anything and he will give me one puppy in return of the same .. but afterwards he blocked me ...... and commenting about me on Facebook and started lying about me .that female was suffering from uterus infection and kennel cough I am having report of the same which I am enclosing here ...after some time she died ..he continously ignoring me and posting false statements about me on Facebook ..
I wanna tell u all one thing that m not having any kind of business of dealing in dogs ... I lives in banswara(Rajasthan) and m a property dealer , owning a hotel , an agriculture farming business as well...
I just like dogs that’s y I bought a dog from him .. I have also my other puppies which I bought from various big dealers in India ...
Guys this guy is a fraudster ..don’t trust him ever ...he just want money and nothing else ..
If he is honest then he should accept his fraud ..and have to say that he is a fraudster ... i dont want my money back ..dont want any dog now ...take it as a gift from me ... I know everything about his frauds and I will continously post about the same ...
anyways there is lot more to say but this statement is already very big so I will post further things in my new post ..

What an excellent video - so well done. I'm entertaining a scammer right now. Another clue - when they send you pics and vids of the puppy, go into the photo's info and see when the photo was actually taken. In "my puppy's" case, the photos were taken 4 1/2 months ago, yet she's apparently only 4 months old! It's a miracle!
The first red flag was the cost of the puppy - to be honest, I might have believed they were legit if the cost was $2500, rather than $700 - why would they sell for so cheap when they could get much more? Maybe they're trying to hook people who can't afford $2500.
The second red flag was that I asked if I could speak to their veterinarian to confirm the puppy and they sounded quite offended by this! Even though when I recently applied to adopt a rescue dog, that organization wanted to speak to *my* vet. It's sad to think people without much money are getting taken for money they might have saved towards a real pet.

"We don't take credit cards due to higher merchant fees." Generally anytime someone _on the internet_ is _selling things_ but _won't accept credit cards,_ that's a scam right there. A reputable business takes credit cards, credit cards and more credit cards.

They also will provide a “real” address that belongs to someone who has nothing to do with the scam. Then when the buyer wants to see the puppies, or pick up the puppy.....they send them to this address. I know because they got their hands on my address 3 years ago, I still have people showing up at my house looking for a puppy. It’s absolutely frustrating. If you are go8ng to buy a puppy and you get an address, google it first. Check out it out on Zillow.

I cannot answer that as you have not given enough information.
It is possible that it is a scam but equally possible that it is not a scam.
Have you been asked to pay money before you pick up the pup? Have you had a video conference with the breeder AND the puppy? I dont mean a video of the puppy, an actual video conference.
Scammers are using the pandemic as an excuse to not allow visits. If you CANT go to see the puppy before you pay then how CAN you visit the property to pick up the puppy. Is there not equal risk?

Yes it could be. I get strangers at my house at least once a month looking to pick up their puppy. I have to tell them they’ve been scammed and I don’t have any puppy’s. Check the address they send on google and/or Zillow. You can find owner information.

I NEED HELP we are picking up a golden retriever puppy tomorrow who we haven’t met before but we were able to go to his house and see the puppy he was just to far away. I live in Scotland he lives In Manchester. But we are meeting him half way and doesn’t want money online on the money on pickup. He has showed us pictures of this puppy with a piece of paper and our name written next to it. To show that it is genuine also he doesn’t have the best grammar which says to me he is foreign. We have payed a deposit online of £80 already and out supposed to pick her up Tomorrow. We are meeting in a public place as well. It may seem all fine but I went on my mother phone after seeing a text from someone on WhatsApp who had the same number as the person with the golden retriever puppies but this time it was with a cockapoo so fair enough he might of been a breeder but then a realised he said that he is not a breeder and I later looked at the texts on my mums phone and saw he said they were based in London when before he said Manchester. After I called him out on a picture he sent of the puppy we are supposed to be getting (it was taken in a very tropical place with Palm trees and nice houses NOT IN MANCHESTER) he just came back like nothing ever happed like the exact same thing he said the first time he messaged me which was “hello I am the owner of the golden retriever puppy. Are you still interested?” This confused me so then I asked for the photo of the puppy next to the peice of paper again and he sent it. I reversed image searched all these photos and none of them came up. There is so much more to the story like his grammar and were he placed his punctuation, and if he uses emojis they change which leads me to believe it could be a bunch of scammers working together on all different types of dogs??? Also his WhatsApp account is a non verified business account and his profile picture is very suspicious it someone holding a trophy saying success and others saying it’s to easy which I found weird. I have watched so many puppy scam videos but just can’t find answers. He won’t refuse us to come and see the puppy or he doesn’t want payed over the internet also he will deliver her personally. I really don’t know what to do PLEAS HELP

I have a good suggestion to anyone ask for a picture of the puppy with a current paper with the date or a picture you pick to include with the dog live most of the time they will then say its not available As a bounty hunter I hunt idiots like this down. Do not buy anything from people if they do not have AKC confirmed account and vet . This is one thing people leave out .
I have helped many with this simple suggestion . because if they stole the pics they are not able to hold the puppy with the picture or date you requested . will stop most of them .
i already went after Greatchowchow.com companies for this and after i asked them this info and real bank wired transfer with ability to verify the buyer they also said no. i will now hunt them down and bring them to the courts under a special contract. do not let them ruin you . i hope this helps you as it has helped many . cause if they cant send real live pic with the picture you suggest or dated paper you can match there not worth the time.

I'm trying to find any information on the other side of the fence. I breed Chinese Cresteds once in a while. I just have one puppy left from my last litter and he is listed on puppyfind.com. I received a text from a man in Nevada inquiring the price who said he was interested in buying him. He didn't answer all my questions, but said he has a brother with one. I think there's a language barrier thing going. He says he has sent me a cashier's cheque for the price plus money for transportation. I already informed him that there will be an issue in flying into Las Vegas because of the heat, but he says he sent it anyway and has inquired 3 days in a row now if it has arrived. I did tell him that I take PayPal, but it had to be this cheque. All I keep thinking about is that scam about people buying things, sending a huge cheque and wanting the victim to send the change to them.

    • @puppyscams
      @puppyscams 5 лет назад

Hi Peggy. There are several possibilities here.
      1) You may be dealing with an actual buyer who wants to buy a puppy.
      2) You may be dealing with a check scammer. The scammer pays with a counterfeit check, you pay the "shipper" which is actually the same scammer using a different email address/website. You deposit a fake check into your bank and send the money to the scammer.
If you have concerns (and you should be concerned), take the check to your bank. Tell them about the payee and tell them that you are suspicious of the check. Ask them to confirm if it is genuine. Ring the issuing bank but do NOT call the number printed on the check. Fake checks will have their own 0800 number manned by the scammer.
You have a valid reason for accepting a check from a stranger and you have a valid reason to be (very) suspicious. Tell your bank this.
Once (if) the check "clears" confirm again with the bank that it is not a counterfeit check.
If the buyer insists you pay for shipping once you have deposited the check it is a huge red flag. Any pressure tactics should also be seen as a red flag.
I think it is a scam but I may be biased as I deal with so many scams.

Many people who get scammed do not realise it is a scam. They think they are dealing with an actual breeder. The "shipper" is simply bait and switch. If the scammer is good enough he/she can convince the victim that the puppy they choose/fell in love with is suffering at an airport until they pay more money. That is how people get scammed by thousands and more! It took me about 4 hours to make the video as I am an amateur.
