Thank you very much Fredo. Here are few reasons why Somaliland must be recognized as a sovereign state. 1. Historic right : Somaliland was an independent country before it joined in a union with Somalia. Therefore, it has the right to reclaim its independence as it was the mother country and was a sovereign state , Somalia was still an Italian colony. Somaliland sovereignty is in line with AU charter, which states that African borders at the time of independence must be respected. 2. Legal right: And by the way, Somali Republuc didn't sign into that charter. Another reason of historic importance is that Somaliland didn't sign declaration of union with Somalia, but it was annexed in Somalia presidential decree. A referendum was set years later for the Somali Republic constitution that included the union of Somaliland and Somalia as its major article. That constitution was boycotted by 75% of then Somaliland voting eligible population and the remaining 25% voted no for the constitution. On the other hand, There were 5 million voters from Somalia, who all voted "YES" for that constitution, when Somalia only had a total population of only 3 million - so this was the most fraudulent referendum on earth. Thus, Somaliland has the inalienable right for self determination. 3. Moral right : Somaliland benefited nothing from the union with Somalia, but it was in the receiving end of political, economic, social and justice segregation, which climaxed with 1988 genocide. 4. Somalia is failed states and it has been as such for the three decades and most likely will remain as such in the foreseeable at least the coming three decades. There is no point for Somaliland to repeat the mistake of reunion that was tried for almost three decades and which has failed badly. Reunion will only create further wars, political , economic and social instability not only in Somaliland and Somalia, but in the greater Horn of Africa. This will benefit no one and it will have further implications on the rest of the world including the great powers. 5. Finally, here is my favourite question, what will Somaliland and the rest of the world benefit from Somaliland and Somalia reunification?
The only thing here my brother was on point all the way #somalilandfirst USA we say welcome and right we can learn one or two thing from USA senator we say thank you we moving forward slow or first we keeping on..

well everyone loves them (except Somalia loool). Iam an Arab, but Somaliland is one of my favorite countries. They sheltered Syria, and Yemen refugees when gulf rich countries did not. One of my best friends is from Somaliland.
@@ahmedopone4080 That's great news too. I've been to both Yemen and Syria and they are both countries full of wonderful people. What has happened to both of them is so horrible. I hope to revisit both someday, hopefully when peace has returned. :)
@@FredoRockwell well, now you know my friend we sheltered thousands of refugees from Syria, Yemen and Ethiopia when their flew brothers turned them down as in the Arabs And we are willing to welcome more. It’s called humanity. We have a little differences and arguments between us but that’s because of the luck of jobs and the country being poor and not exporting anything or manufacturing but that soon will change if we put our trust in Allah/God and only have one intention to move forward and build/develop our great country and live with our neighbouring countries with peace and a good trade with the outside world but not with China or Russia, that would make you happy 😃 😆 😃… once again thanks my friend and thanks for showing the world even the smallest country can be the greatest. I suspect that the average person in Somalia doesn't hate Somaliland, and I also suspect they would gladly accept the peace, stability, and democracy Somaliland has if it was offered to them.
my man... somalia hate somaliland because we didn't go their way they wenna us to be like them just killer in their people like al-shabab killler... we kill any al -shabab in a sight we hate them but somalia love al-shabab .... al-shabab melt with somalia citizens they allow them to be a part of the citizens al-shabab will never gone in somalia because they are just melt and engaged with citizens and melt inside of them...... so somaliland didn't did that they hate us because of that our home is safe we decided that we decided we fight any one who is unti to our peace like al shabab and we grow in strength and happiness and make fear elections and istablility on our country this is the difference between somalia and somaliland .... somalia will continue fighting and never stop because their citizens are al-shabab how u can stop when your enemy becomes your neighbor or your brother or cousin's how u can stop that u can't... it just impossible to be in a peace really because their people wenna this.....but somaliland's citizens make their home safe and secure because they went it we claimed it for long time about 30 years ago we make that and keeep it like that ..... so i love make country and i wish greate recognizing for my home because my people demand it not asking we demand it because we are somalilanders who make what they are today no one of the civilize countries as they say help us for rebuilding our home we make it from nothing to the level we are now so we demand recognizing my home 🏡 💚🤍🖤❤

Hello my fellow American! So glad you liked the video. I made it especially for Americans to see and hopefully understand the issue better. I hope it helps!
Genocide? The isaq tribe is responsible for genocide against other clans in north somalia. South somalia has for more deaths because of the war than north Somalia. Snm is responsible for the massacre. Sponsored and trained by ethiopia to kill fellow somalis. Siad barre tried to restore law and order but snm kept killing and looting. Somalis know what happened don’t play the victim. A clan cannot become a country. If so we would have 100’s of countries within Somalia

Probably for the same reasons hardly anyone recognizes Taiwan - they claim to rule all of China (which they don't) and this makes it difficult to have normalized relations with the government in Beijing. I'm not a fan of the Beijing government, but it's probably best for everyone if the US and China have normal diplomatic relations. Thanks for watching!
@@FredoRockwell America ONLY gives a wink to Taiwan but it will never recognize it due to the retaliation from China which can also recognize Puerto Rico and other Western Hemisphere territories. Somaliland to the world
ruclips.net/video/4O2CIaj5gGU/видео.html
well everyone loves them (except Somalia loool). Iam an Arab, but Somaliland is one of my favorite countries. They sheltered Syria, and Yemen refugees when gulf rich countries did not. One of my best friends is from Somaliland.
I didn't know about the refugees - what a great story!
But there are more Yemenis and Syrians in Somalia…
Much love.
I saw this video title and my immediate thought was, "Since when?" A knew most of the brief individual facts you went over in the beginning, but that was about it. Very good points bringing up China, strategic interests, and relative promise when it comes to more long-term stability compared to its many neighbors. Going over their earned patriotism and love of country was a surprising joy to see! You make a good case for me to actually care, thank you for that. I will pay more attention to them and look on with hopeful admiration. 🇺🇲👍
Thanks so much! That's exactly the reaction I was hoping for. And thanks for commenting as well!
Gratitude for the love, great channel!
Thank you!
Thank you ,for you support much appreciated 🙏🏾

Thank you Fredo for shedding the light on Somaliland long over due recognition, the blessed nation of the horn of Africa.

Mr.fredo we love Somalilland evan though somalia dont like that we love very much somaliland and we wouldnt trade any other country u mat heard some somali pol who will tell u lie but i think now u know much about somaliland what i dont anderstand is why somalia dont like us our bride for being somalilander why they dont like their country like us. I love somaliland.
I suspect that the average person in Somalia doesn't hate Somaliland, and I also suspect they would gladly accept the peace, stability, and democracy Somaliland has if it was offered to them.
Lmao somaliland is a another state in Somalia 🇸🇴 🙄😂😂
@@Humanity894 keep dreaming u all do that but wen they wakeup they all say oh what a dream that S.land was part of death somalia kkkkk

my man... somalia hate somaliland because we didn't go their way they wenna us to be like them just killer in their people like al-shabab killler... we kill any al -shabab in a sight we hate them but somalia love al-shabab .... al-shabab melt with somalia citizens they allow them to be a part of the citizens al-shabab will never gone in somalia because they are just melt and engaged with citizens and melt inside of them...... so somaliland didn't did that they hate us because of that our home is safe we decided that we decided we fight any one who is unti to our peace like al shabab and we grow in strength and happiness and make fear elections and istablility on our country this is the difference between somalia and somaliland .... somalia will continue fighting and never stop because their citizens are al-shabab how u can stop when your enemy becomes your neighbor or your brother or cousin's how u can stop that u can't... it just impossible to be in a peace really because their people wenna this.....but somaliland's citizens make their home safe and secure because they went it we claimed it for long time about 30 years ago we make that and keeep it like that ..... so i love make country and i wish greate recognizing for my home because my people demand it not asking we demand it because we are somalilanders who make what they are today no one of the civilize countries as they say help us for rebuilding our home we make it from nothing to the level we are now so we demand recognizing my home 🏡 💚🤍🖤❤
Thank you, seeing someone from the other side of the world appreciating my and my people's struggle and sacrifice made me happy, thank you❤
Thank you for watching and for your kind comment!
Thank you Fredo🙏🏾. 27/may/1991 I was there in Burao, as 14 years old and optimistic about the future after long term oppression of Siad Bare regime. Love and respect from Somaliland🙏🏾
Glad you liked it! 👍
We forever thankful to every one who tell the world the truth about somaliland
Fredo thanks for the informative video, I couldn’t agree more! As a Somaliland born; survivor of that genocide and as a US citizen I have very strong support for such ties between two nations that I hold dear and I would die to defend. Thanks again keep going!
@@countcryptonite When your only way to argue is to point out the flaws of the other side, that's called "whataboutism." It is also taken as a tacit admission that you have no response to the actual issue.

Wow, goosebumps?! I'm glad you liked the video! I agree - the best way to keep improving is to make sure you are always aware there is more to improve!
@@FredoRockwell Very true. Self awareness is very important as is self-reflection. We have to know we are not perfect and we can always improve our countries for the betterment of our people and the people around us.

@@FredoRockwell very much
Great video fredo. You are an honorary Somalilander!!!
That was a great video! I suddenly feel patriotic towards Somaliland. It seems like there are some parallels between Somaliland and Kosovo.
America is playing with FIRE that will further destabilize the entire region, continent, the world. Notice, how the “mighty” U.S government is literally afraid to recognize Taiwan, but is quick to break up Iraq, Somalia, Libya, etc. Almost every U.S foreign policy has been a failure in Africa, Asia, Latin America, etc but now America wants to open a pandora box. Be careful what you wish you cause in retaliation countries might recognize Texas as a sovereign country.
Thanks ❤ Kosovo from Somaliland
Thank you very much, Fredo for showing the rest of the world what Somaliland is about, and that Somaliland deserves internationally recognition from the international community and Somaliland was a country before Somalia in 1960, which has legal grounds for recognition.

Thank you so much for the short but fascinating Somali political history. Indeed, you summarised some of the hidden facts in the HOA.

@@FredoRockwell Why doesn’t the might U.S government recognize Taiwan? Is it because you’re TERRIFIED of what will China do to you? So you decide to act tough and further divide black and brown countries in Somalia, Iraq, Libya, etc huh?
Probably for the same reasons hardly anyone recognizes Taiwan - they claim to rule all of China (which they don't) and this makes it difficult to have normalized relations with the government in Beijing. I'm not a fan of the Beijing government, but it's probably best for everyone if the US and China have normal diplomatic relations. Thanks for watching!
@@FredoRockwell America ONLY gives a wink to Taiwan but it will never recognize it due to the retaliation from China which can also recognize Puerto Rico and other Western Hemisphere territories. The so called Monroe Doctrine will be flipped upside down. I just find it absolutely pathetic that American politicians and officials will pretend to recognize the “Rights” of foreign people, but will NEVER recognize the basic rights of American citizen to healthcare, living wage, free college, etc. For God’s sake Flint Michigan and countless of American citizens don’t even have clean water.
Do the whole world a favor and just take care of your own people instead of trying to interfere in the political and social affairs of others. That would be peaceful for all of us.
@@thinkbeforeyoutype7106...somalia should do the same and be atleast stable instead of running after somaliland which they have no right to do.
