    I think I had a size 22 head as a child! Shopping for Easter hats back then always was a disaster LOL. But I’ve always wondered what it would be like to be able to wear the every day types of hats like the ones in movies from the 30s and 40s so I especially liked your dark brown hat, the green one, the black and green pair, and the last hat you showed. They make you look like you stepped out of a classic film, and they also looked comfortable.

    Georgous hats, especially love the colour of the velvety green one.

    Maybe use some fabric glue and glue some silk flowers like roses onto the top of that blue hat?

    Love them all but especially the green ones!! For your blue hat with the feathers, I'd try to finish the swirl with additional feathers. The fly-fishing section at Bass Pro has lots of feathers (for making fishing flies) but you can usually find a decent selection. I'd try to match the blue or maybe use green.

    It's so interesting to listen to your comments! I didn't know anything about these interesting labels on hats! What a beautiful and really big collection! Thank you so much for sharing, they are incredibly beautiful! I have a few hats, only four vintage American hats, I love them very much and wear them regularly. After your video, hats are not scary to wear. I know that many girls are embarrassed to wear hats, when I come in a hat, they all ask me to let them try on my hat, they say that it is very beautiful, but they all say that the hat is not for them. So sad to hear that girls want to wear hats but are shy.

    • @TheGlambassador
      @TheGlambassador  Год назад +1

      Hats just aren't worn frequently anymore, at least not these types of hats, so people feel self conscious about it. I agree it's sad that people don't feel comfortable doing or wearing things that interest them. But maybe seeing you wear them will help give them that confidence.

    I love your hat collection - thank you for sharing it! And thank you for the links. I have a 23 inch head and it’s hard to find old or new hats in that size, so finding two vintage repro milliners who make 23s is super exciting!

    You have some wonderful hats. I think the the easiest way to fix the blue feathered one is to plop some silk flowers over those spots but a broach or something could work too.. I would be curious to know what was there before.

    • @TheGlambassador
      @TheGlambassador  Год назад +1

      I like that idea. I might look for some vintage millinery flowers to add to it.

    I bet you could secure that rip by using fusible tape. It probably wouldn’t show and it dries kind of translucentZ. Just a thought so it doesn’t make a larger tear!

    Do you display your hats or keep them stored in hat boxes? I've got all mine in hat boxes but I want to display them and I'm terrified of causing damage. But they deserve to be seen!

    • @TheGlambassador

      I display some of them and others I keep in hat boxes. If you check out my dressing room tour, you can see how I display/store them.

    At some point, as well as sewing my own vintage style clothes, I am going to have to teach myself to make my own hats because my head is literally man sized and I can't get any women's hats that actually fit.

    • @TheGlambassador
      @TheGlambassador  Год назад +1

      There are many types of hats that aren’t size dependent. I have a fairly large head and tilt hats are some of my favorites because it doesn’t matter what size your head is.

      @@TheGlambassador I wear them for warmth or protection from the sun so I prefer to have them on my head, as opposed to perched. I don't like fussy 😊
