- Today on SHARKREALM! Actor MEHCAD BROOKS (JAX) shared in an interview with PIX11 that the 2021 MORTAL KOMBAT MOVIE - MORTAL KOMBAT 2 MOVIE SEQUEL WILL HAVE ATLEAST 27 FIGHT SCENES | 3-5 MIN EACH! With already a lot of characters in the film and ALOT of fight scenes in a roughly 2 hour film, will the characters have a good story or will this simply be a just a fighting movie game? As long as the first of 27 fights involves Cole young getting his spine removed by noob saibot, the movie will be a success.
Or Shao Kahn hitting Cole with his hammer so hard that he ceases to exist.

For one simple reason.
*Canon Foreigner* trope. Meaning that Cole Young was _never a thing before 2021 movie came out._ And the whole narrative revolving around him - giving him the most spotlight. When it should be iconic MK characters most of the time.
Think *Ahsoka Tano* of _Star Wars: The Clone Wars_ - but significantly worse than that.

How could anyone like _a flat and uninteresting character_ who's basically a Mary Sue but male? Not to mention his LITERAL PLOT ARMOR that was spoofed constantly?
Sure, *Lewis Tan* did his best - but it wasn't enough.
After Undisputed( 2-4), Ninja(1-2) Ip Man, Raid (1-2) I expected real good fights in MK 2021 movie. But there are bad fights are continuing all movie. So short, too many changes of camera shooting, god damn, just remember fight Lui Kang vs Reptile or Johnny Cage against Scorpion in 1995. The movie is almost 30 years, but this two fights look good even now. Sequel MK without Scott Adkins( Johnny Cage is his character 100 percent) looks like a joke. Very interesting: How 52 Carl Urban will kick legs like Johnny Cage😅😅. I don't, thats .... Oh
I heard lui kang dies im out, sad they will not bringing back goro, or shang tsung shapeshifting fighting lui. Smh
That nitara scene was bonkers, I was so eagre to see her and her fighting style…until….😅. I hope we have more fights, mystical powers, edenia and all the other realms, as much as i liked him, kano should stay dead if thats what sonya did, cant give him a cybernetic eye if she stabbed him.
27 fights sounds good but i dont think its going to be in tournament fights he might just be talking about the movie lol and plus i have feeling its going to rush 27 fights for 3-5 minutes doesn't sound good for me.

I hope they have the original techno soundtrack for the movie.
Or atleast get Dan Forden to do some music
They need to kill off Cringe young and focus more on the established characters. I hope they bring back Goro or have Kintaro make an entrance
Don't forget about _Shao_ himself... he also has to fight.

Yeah, I don't how that many fights could be a good thing. The last movie had the issue with some of the fights being way too rushed and sloppy (ex: Jax vs Reiko) and some of the fights were even cut for time and budget. I think Jeremy Slater will produce a much better script, but man it sounds way too jammed to be done well.
guessing its gonna be less or vague storytelling and just fights to please mk fans with fatalities and blood. the games didn't offer much story unless you read the manual or had the guides
@@sharkrealm the story has really always been in their bios and endings. The over all story has been pretty vague but the real draw are the character stories, rivalries and lore. You could make a movie just on the edenian royalty alone.
Bring back darker music for the fight scenes
maybe techno like back in the day jk! but yes darker music would be ideal

sadly, it doesnt really say much - ED kinda lost his touch with MK. John Tobias was the real heart and soul of the franchise

I doubt it, but it would be cool if they had a presence at comicon in July.

@@biancabutler5099 This seems most likely. WB usually releases trailers 2-3 months before the movie. Doubt the movie is releasing this year so we have a while to wait.

My guess is quarter 1 of 2025. I think they would have announced a release date already if it were coming out this year.

@@Xavion1200 That's my estimate too. It's surprising because it wrapped filing the same time as Deadpool but that movie is coming out in a few months.
probably 2025, the trailer seems to be to out sometime late this year so i assume if all goes well, there's a 3-5 month gap from the trailer so def next year
