Man there were a lot of options in those three games. I haven't played them in years. I should revisit them, but I remember not loving the semi-3D format and not having fatalities in the one game (or is it 2 of them?).

Lui kang had time to get a new shirt and shao kahn went from a giant monster to a man in a matter of a couple minutes.

My fondest memory of this is my friend (we were both about 17) seeing the poster (or teaser trailer) before me and saying "it has this weird name, Mortal Kombat: Annie-hilly-ashun." I said "you sure it's not "annihilation?" and he was sure he was right.

Sheeva is my favorite character, i did not like this version of her.

The actor, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, was so good at playing Shang-Tsung that they used his likeness and his voice in the video game "Mortal Kombat 11."

Liu was tricked for a moment by Shang because he knew that Shang had swallowed his brother's soul. He briefly thought for a moment that Shang was taunting him by letting him speak to his brother. When he realized that his brother would never blame him for his death, he recognized Shang's treachery and snapped back to attention to finish him off.

The rules didn't make sense at all. Liu Kang, Sonya and Cage all fight mystic ninjas and cyborg criminals and everyone else looks like they're competing in the Karate Kid movies, only to get beat by Goro. Johnny challenged Goro, and beat him, and thus became the new champion, but somehow that doesn't count. If Johnny is the new champion, he should be the one fighting Shang Tsung, but Kang fights him, though he never defeated the reigning champion. It's so weird. But it's such a great movie!! The Reptile fight is the best fight. The MK theme is iconic. And Sonya's thighs are to die for.

I went to see both movies in 1995 and 1997 as a little kid with my older brother. I chose my destiny then. Since then I know that Martial Arts in my life was the wisest choice. MORTAL KOMBAT is ENTER THE DRAGON of my generation. I am from 1988. IT HAS BEGUN!!!

they should just make a new series with talented actors- mortal kombat is hard to capture within 2 hours

The first movie had a few pros- as well as alot of fcons from hardcore fans- casual watchers gonna think wow- cons:-- 1. The team that did the raid should have assisted in the fight choreography or done 2. couple cut scenes could have fill in areas where it seemed rush 3. it needed more mortal kombat kombat language- every one spoke english- in a universe like mk? 4 fight scenes wasnt fully fleshed out e.g jax vs reiko- wtf was that all about? 5. Costumes werent fully fleshed out e.g reiko 6. Actors were okay- i blame the direction of the director in terms of mileena/ nitara/ reptile- they seemed underrated 7. the arcane concept wasnt bad actually- it simplified why certain characters were chosen 8. 50/50 on the goro, but it couldnt be that goro who beat the great kung lao....lol defeated by cole young 9. cole young ... cole young, we dont hate the actor- we hate the character 10. needed more longer fight scenes 11. longer movie would have even given some of the villians thier own shine except subzero

I’ll never forget how good this movie is. 🎉 Also on a personal note: this was the first laser disc I had. When I was putting together my first surround sound system, I used MK laser disc to test the sound. The sound of the letters flying past you in the intro was just awesome. 😎

I’m a console behind (with no intention of catching up), so, I couldn’t play this. But I watched the story on RUclips and I don’t feel like I’m missing anything. I would’ve hated the cameo fighting style anyway.

DC comics does a reboot every decade or so and destroys any story that came before. Makes it really hard to get into the characters.

As a fan since the 90's, i agree with you all the way. The biggest issue i have is the loss of its identity. There is no more mystique and instead of being inspired by other properties and doing its own thing, mk now just follows the trends and copies off of marvel and DC. The writing is so bad, it can't even keep track of its own established lore within the first game of the reboot. I don't have any faith in the direction of the games at this point, so i hope the movie does a better job.

After Undisputed( 2-4), Ninja(1-2) Ip Man, Raid (1-2) I expected real good fights in MK 2021 movie. But there are bad fights are continuing all movie. So short, too many changes of camera shooting, god damn, just remember fight Lui Kang vs Reptile or Johnny Cage against Scorpion in 1995. The movie is almost 30 years, but this two fights look good even now. Sequel MK without Scott Adkins( Johnny Cage is his character 100 percent) looks like a joke. Very interesting: How 52 Carl Urban will kick legs like Johnny Cage😅😅. I don't, thats .... Oh
