- I tested the iPhone 15 Pro's Ability to shoot the milky way and went and did some astrophotography with it and compared it to the 14 Pro, 13 Pro, 12 Pro and even my full frame camera which is the Canon R6!

Your editing is improving day by day i like it ❤
Thank you
I appreciate it 🙏🏻
What an honest video! I like how you explain everything and show the difference before and after editing.
Thanks!
Thank you
I appreciate that 🙏🏻
Lowering brightness, and raising blackpoint, has been useful, since the raw photos usually come out bright and hazy, in the city.
Thank you for sharing ❤!
Great video, thank you for sharing
Glad I was able to help 🙏🏻
Astrophotography benefits from stacking images to enhance the captured light. From any camera.
I don't really think mobile cameras can be compared to a single lens camera system alas like you say they have come a long way.
Could you do a video on 5x and above on normal iPhone 15 pro? In all light settings - do you prefer the pro over the pro max?
What small iPhone tripod can you recommend?
That's almos as good as the Pixel astrophotography, good to see iPhone adding it too
Wow nice, now I need a dark night here in The Netherlands 😅
You can also hunt the aurora 😍
You should go to the Dark Sky Park way above Groningen. Darkest place in NL. It’s amazing.
@@rudykoster8784 I'm located in Westland, most illuminated place in Europe 😁
why are the pictures so blurry? I took astrophotos on my old Pixel 5, even before I bought the pixel 8p, and on it the milky way and stars were much better, it's strange that the 15 pro shows the level of the ultra wide angle pixel 8 pro camera in astrophotos. I'm a long time non-apple user, can you tell me if the iPhone doesn't move the sensor following star movement on long shutter speeds and actually need to use a special tripod with correction?
Maybe you should do an editing video. You did a great job.
hi, how about xiaomi ultra 13 pro? im checking if there is a photo of an aurora hotograph,
does heif max available in 14 pro?
There he is 🫶🏼😍 always so handsome. It’s been a while. I loved the video 💙💙
Thank you 🙈
I see a dark scruffy halo on my 15 pro screen when trying to take stars photo in night mode. Does that seem normal? Lenses perfectly clean, no case or case makes no diff. Have to zoom in at least 2x to not see it on the screen
Пробовали фотографировать на пиксель?
❤
Do Astrophotography with the Pixel 8 Pro - stunning results!
Hello Ammar, thanks for the great video. I'm hoping to catch the meteor shower on the 13th-14th in this month in the same area you took those pictures from. My main equipment is an iPhone 15 pro as I am not really into photography that much. Do you have any editing tips for a super beginner that is trying to capture the Milky Way and hopefully the meteor shower?
Thank you very much 🙏🏻
Hop on instagram for more details 🙌🏻
Hey great video but unfortunately not so great photos. May I know where you shoot them? cause I shot the milky way a couple of times with 13 PRO and it's WAY WAY better than what you have here. I saw other photos from 15 PRO and it should really blow your mind compared to 13 and 14 which is not the case in this comparison.
Thank you for your feedback
You can send me the photos over on insta and I will definitely check them out and try to get better photos next time
Maybe the area that I am in has so much humidity and dust in the air that photos may not look as good
Very curious to see those pics! Do you have an Instagram account?
maybe he had more light pollution in his area
@@nniklask it’s actually the exact same area, but maybe the weather was different
okay this make sense because yeah this could be the problem this are prety dam bad photos compared to a maybe 200$ android@@AmmarAjjoub
Great tutorial!
What's the brand of your tripod? Looks small to put on a pocket
Thank you
The one I showed in the video is a part of the DJI Ronin setup
So it is not actually a tripod but a combination of the things I have
I hope I can have one of these :(
Omg this video exactly shows the progress apple has made through their iphones
Hi which lens did you use on the canon R6?
50mm f1.8
All I see is watercolor :)
The 15 smoothed it out waaay too much, there’s far less stars visible than on the 14 and it looks much less natural
The 14 pro may seem like it has more stars, it just has more grain and the grain looks like stars
But the 15 in fact looks way more detailed and way less grain
You actually should do samsung galaxy s24+ it might be better, and also xiaomi 14 ultra
I’m thinking of upgrading to an iPhone 15 pro. Are you using an external lens or is it the lens already on board the phone?
No external lenses 👌🏻
@@AmmarAjjoub I C. Without zooming in in that case, how do you manage to achieve clear pictures? I would’ve thought having to zoom in without an external lens, quality would be lost, unless there is a way round it I’d be interested to know, thanks.
@@bestrickie2 In the video I tried to explain how I got these shots, which is by setting up the phone on a tripod and using the night mode with 15-30 seconds
nice
subbed
Thank you
Much appreciated 🙏🏻
How to adjust the shutter speed in iPhone 15 Pro Camera ?
Manual. Go to shutter speed, adjust it from 3s to 10s. 10s is the maximum
Came for the video, stayed for the very cute guy!
🙈
you had too much light pollution in your photos. Also, it's apparent you didn't capture in RAW 48MP on the 15 Pro.
why there are differencess in the same phone but on another year ??? and the new year is worse?
It could be either the weather or a software change (which could raise a lot of questions)
@@AmmarAjjoub That is why I`m asking the question... if it`s weather the photo should be just cloudy or with less starts ... but it`s with lower quality not less starts or something....
Я нашёл на 15 pro силуэт сердечко ❤ 😅💪
did you use star tracker?
I used an app called Skyview but no star tracking
Why does 14 pro look better?
The colors may look better
But the details and the sharpness of the 15 pro are much better
@@AmmarAjjoub04:20 there are a lot more stars too
Or may be I have 14 pro max and I'm biased lol
@@criminozs it’s mostly grain 😂 not actual stars
@@AmmarAjjoub
I guess I have to upgrade then and never do astrophotography or take log footage 😭
The grain makes it look more natural though. The 15 looks like it is doing way too much noise reduction.@@AmmarAjjoub
Which should i buy? IPhone 14 pro max or iPhone 15 pro?????
If you don’t mind the big size of the max then go with the max 👌🏻
I have the 14 pro max , is amazing, buy it now
Have you tried taking pictures using the LOG MODE?
I will have to give that a try! We have mountains about 1 1/2 hours from where I live outside of Washington DC, which is a great place for stargazing! Unfortunately, while my Galaxy s21 Ultra gets good to great photos of the Moon, whether at 25X to match the iPhone 15 Pro Max or up to 100X, my new 15 Pro Max generally cannot even focus on the Moon, showing only a blob. I expected smaller Moon shots without as much detail as the Galaxy, but the iPhone cannot handle the contrast of a dark sky and bright Moon. Hope Applae fixes this with the 16.
You can detail that, some youtuber make it...
It’s not iPhone cant take photo of the moon. It’s just u dont know the exposure control 😃
There is no fixing needed, you are using auto mode and auto tries to expose for the blacks around to get more detail. Use a manual mode and expose for the moon yourself. For planned shots manual mode will always without fail outperform auto, no matter what camera you are using.
@@oh-noe iphones dont have a manual mode tho
(unless you get an external app i guess)
You do know the Galaxy moon is fake right ?
take multiple pictures (for instance.. 50 pics, 15 secs each) and stack m up
The only problem with that that the earth moves and and the stars won’t align
And aligning them in post will be a hassle
But great idea tho! Not impossible to pull out ✨👌🏻
My Pixel 7a is laughing so hard right now :))
waiting for almost 5 minutes for an astrophotography is wild. lol
@@iamjibz2708 hey.. the results are worth it! and the amount of post processing effort it saves, more than compensates for those few extra minutes.
Waiting for s24U with raw mode
Not sure if iphone can take astrophotos properly. There's an app called astrocam on Androids (only, i guess). This let's you shoot astroshots sequentially which you can then use with sequator in RAW, then do the lightroom magic. I did the same with my xiaomi mi 9 (2019) and got a bloody awesome milkyway shot and a few starlink passes (actually mutliples, from a place called Thomaplatz in Starnberg, Germany) from under a bortle 4 sky. If you actually went to a bortle sky below 4, then it should be even better given the newer hardware in Iphone than Mi 9. I wonder of there is a similar app like intervalometer or astrocam for iphones. Give it a shot, if any.
Why is the 14 Pro worse in 2023 than in 2022? 3:06
It’s very weird tbh
What's is mean worse here? Good or not brother? I want to buy 14 pro
Yeah that’s not that good tbh lol. Those photos are not usable. I think the Google pixel is the only smartphone that can capture decent Milky Way photos. Not worth bothering with any other smartphone camera at the moment
Pixel is still the best to take astrophotography
Pixel is a whole another league. No editing needed
Сяоми лучше бы сфоткал
you look prettier that those Milky Way photos. just saying.
Look who’s talking 😉
Well you should take this on Raw mode and without HDR, then you will see the power of 15 Pro!
Automatics made this photos trash
I would buy a mirrorless camera, coz mobile photography sometimes f*cks your brain and no more
🧕🏻 nice video you hot guy
хуже айфон. а лучше хуавей
А ещё лучше - взять за эти деньги зеркалку/бзк и нормальный обьектив. Вы*бет просто.
man im not saying that the photos look terrible, okay maybe a little bit, but how it is posible than my xiomi 170$ phone take really better photos wihout using lightroom how is apple on the level of a 2019 phone (prety worst) while video looks so good in low light
iPhone cannot event shoot the moon... Ludicrous
You know android can’t either, right? If it recognizes the moon, it will insert a hi-def pic of the moon for you. There are many videos on this.
The camera is 1 billion times better than the iPhone lol. All this talk of " best camera on any phone" " now you don't need a camera ,your phone is enough" were all lies.
To be fair, it is a full frame camera that costs more than twice as the iPhone
The idea is that you can rely on your iphone for out and about photos of family and friends
Professionally, you will always need a camera 🎥
