That”s what I’m talking about, now you truck looks nicer, took it to a whole new level. I used hyper dip on my 2022 GMC Canyon, same color mate black. Good job sir
This is a great video for a new Colorado owner who just bought the replacement emblems and the final price for the parts and dealer install robbery $ 225. Words can not express how much gratitude and respect I have for this video! And the best part is that I have the same color and I will be confident in what the finished product will look like and how good it will look. This has just been my last payment to the dealership and my order is now in the cancel process!
The Plasti dip does exceptionally well, I used 6-7 coats. No issues with washes, I would say maybe every couple years you may have to do a new application if you see it wearing but it’s quite durable!
Just bought a 2023 Colorado Trail Boss in sand dune metallic and absolutely want to do this. How durable do you think it will be against cleaning the truck, such as power washing?
It should last for years. Just don’t power wash the heck out of those areas to intentionally loosen the rubber and your good. Foam cannon, hand wash and your golden. I also did 6 coats so it’s very strong.
They don't come black from the factory, it's a dealer install but the problem with that is mine are on back order can't wait to get them because they look so much better blacked out. I bought the Iron Bison step rails that hide that seem on the under side with a lot more ground clearance. Ordered mine with the 20 inch rims in black. Definitely loving the new Colorado Trail Boss. Your Trail Boss looks good nice job.
I’ll eventually probably replace the side steps because they do protrude out quite a bit, it came with my truck, so I wasn’t going to change anything quite yet since my wife likes them.
Man! I'm so frustrated with plastidip. Just did the Ford emblem on my F 150. Got the whole thing done. 4 coats of dip and 2 coats of glossifier. Took an hour. It looked perfect and was perfect as I was pulling the plastidip off, except for 1 tiny dot where it showed the chrome. I should have just hit it with a dot of touch up black paint and called it a day. But no. I tried to "fix" it with another coat of plastidip, and ruined the whole damn thing. So mad! Gotta try again next weekend.
Try giving each of your coats 15 to 30 minutes to dry in between and then when you’re taking it off make sure you’re picking away from the Emblem with that toothpick.
@@JT4X4OFFROADING yeah that makes sense. I was giving it 10 min, but it was 85 degrees and sunny out. I will definitely give it 15 min instead on the next attempt. The great thing about this is that no matter how bad you mess up, you can just peel it off and start over! I noticed that the glossifier makes a lot of over spray. It seems to come right off by swiping my hand over it, but is there any good way to control that? I had my whole grill taped off with trash bags, and it ended up on my hood and windshield.
@@tdtommy196 try doing it inside of your garage, I did it that way, so I had absolutely no wind and if you need to make a little umbrella so even if you do get overspray it can’t go up.
Wow.. good for you sir Travis, DIY can save your money.❤❤god bless you and Jessa.
Good Travis .Happy Sunday morning ❤❤ God blessed you both keep safe ❤

thank you very much, I hope it helps everyone save some money!!
How the hell did this not stick to the paint of truck and peal so easy?
It's silicone, it does a really good job at safe removal from parts you don't want it on.
How well does this plastidip hold up against car washes??? How long before having to reapply???
Phenomenal work by the way!!!

@@JT4X4OFFROADING Sounds good man. Thanks!!!
Should be black from the factory honestly
I agree!! That’s like a 1900$ option lol 😂
@@JT4X4OFFROADINGwhat I got it as an option for $175 lol
Nice
If you over spray it is real easy to remove just rub with a microfiber towel and it comes right off
Yes! That’s why I love Plasti dip!

Also sick color, put some nice tires on that and it will look even better !

How long will this last 9:06
The dip will last well several years, if at anytime you feel it’s loosing grip just add additional coats.
