You know, I just love when someone is watching that intense shift in this song (you know the part) and they feel it! I could tell you were feeling it. Thank you for getting Bo's message! It is almost disappointing when the person watching laughs through that shift like it's supposed to be funny. Or they look uncomfortable but laugh anyway. I really appreciate your reaction to this genius! Bo has a way of getting us to feel and think! Thank you!
Exactly my thoughts! The most enjoyable thing is to watch people get totally lost in that moment. I could just tell from your facial expression that it was genuine. Don't worry; I cried the first time I saw this, I was so shocked & did not expect that. Also nice to see people actually appreciate the amazingly crazy good production in this.
Absolutely loved this reaction, the tonal shift hit me hard the first time too. A bit of trivia: Bo was having a panic attack throughout this performance, and it actually caused him to go off script. This wasn't normal at all for Bo, he made sure that every joke landed exactly when it was supposed to with no type of improv whatsoever. The third scream at the end of the song wasn't planned, and from what I've heard, the crew for the show got really worried when he threw that third scream in. After he left the stage, I believe he locked himself in his dressing room and stayed there until he could calm himself down from the panic attack. He tells a story about it in his special "Inside"
I think losing yourself in the song and not saying much is the suitable reaction, because this was not designed to be reacted to. You're supposed to listen and absorb Bo's message, not laugh over it or keep talking over it like so many reaction channels do. Your reaction to this was 100% genuine and that is appreciated so much on so many levels. I'd be curious to see your reaction to "We Think We Know You" and "All Eyes On Me", both of which have similar messages. AEOM won him a Grammy for good reason, highly recommend!
He said that he was actually having a panic attack on stage and after he walked off, he rolled up on the floor and cried for 2 hours. Panic attacks were very frequent so he took his leave, knowing that he may have never tried to return. After 5 years, he thought he was ready and just before he was set to return... Covid hit and he was forced back into his isolation. His mental health quickly relapsed but he pushed through to bring us "INSIDE." Bo Burnham is a legit role model for struggling artists
You think he makes jokes but he was crying for help during this time in his life. He was having panic attacks on stage. That scream just, you can *feel* it, and that last line 'I hope you're happy' went back to attempt to give you something he could not give himself.
He did have a panic attack on stage one time. After that happened he went on hiatus. He did plan on touring again in 2020, but the pandemic hit at that time. Which is why he made Inside. Last year, on the one year mark, he released The Inside Outtakes.
@@elbruces yeah, the third scream he did in the song wasn't planned (that's why it wasn't autotuned) and all of the backstage started really worrying about him because he never goes off script
That spot in the song hits me every time I watch it mate. This was 8 years ago now and Bo was suffering from panic attacks on stage. You can hear it in his voice at the end when he yells. After this he quit live shows and it was 5 years later he made "Inside". Have you checked out much of Tim Minchin, he is an Aussie and pretty sure was an influence on Bo. 💜🇦🇺
You need to check out What, his first Netflix special. The left brain, right brain bit it amazing. Also check out his Comedy Central one, Words Words Words.
Watch your bo reactions from inside constantly. Been waiting for this one from you. The talk he has with the audience during the special right before this starts is deep too. You want younger bo that’s just a good comedy song, I suggest “oh bo”
It always feels so weird to hear Bo say.. "I should probably just shut up and do my job." To go back into the comedy about Chipotle and the entire crowd cheers and goes nuts. It's like, did they even listen? But then he even addresses that they don't get it and tries again.
Is the full length Inside reaction up on your Patreon yet? You should definitely go back and watch What and Make Happy too. Words Words Words is also on Paramount + if you want really old school Bo.
How much of Inside have you heard? He actually quit performing after this for 5 years after this performance. He was quite serious about the toll his work was taking on him.
Subscribing to see more Bo.. If you'd like to hear more of his flow definitely watch Rant. If you want to see his lyrical genius watch Shakespeare. If you want to have your soul crushed watch All Eyes On Me
Eeeee, omg, I'm so happy to see you back reacting to Bo, and especially this one, that I'm liking and commenting before I've even watched it 😅 I'm so looking forward to this 🤗
From what I've heard of this showing (not sure how true it is) Bo went back stage and cried. (Again. This could have just been false info, but i wouldn't be surprised.)
It's nice to see a reaction & let the song go while it's important. Too many pause & it breaks those moments. Looking forward to the Inside stuff. You should check out "5 Years" if you haven't yet. I just found the channel so idk if you have yet or not. Great vid tho ✌️
I know youtube doesn't work like this, but if you watched inside in full and not in segments you'd get an insane more out out of it. It's so good as a whole experience!
The first half is jokes because that's what the audience want, and it parodies Kanye rapping about trivial shit, then the second half admits what is happening but deconstruct it by saying comedy is just repetition then he repeats the jokes from the first half but now you know he is trying to not fall apart.
I just found your channel through this video. Starting at 10:10 when you paused the vid to share with us, I immediately knew you were the kind of person I want to be subscribed to on here. 🩷
The connection I feel to random strangers reacting who just get it...helps me not feel so alone. Thank you for your honest reaction 🙏
Not talking during the serious shit moments is the PERFECT reaction, he reached you. 🙏🏼

I second all of this!

Bo gonna have you laughing right up until the moment he drops a bag of bricks on your head.

It was this performance. This was the last stop on his last tour.

Yeah this one hits hard.
This is one of the best displays of Bo's genius. This, paired with All Eyes On Me, is legendary 🧡
That was the best Bo reaction I have seen in what feels like forever. It’s like seeing it for the first time again.
Thank you and well done!!
Not many truly see his artistry with this and full message, just see as a jester and don't even hear his pain...great reaction

Great video! Bo's older stuff is absolute GOLD...his stand-up specials and random RUclips videos, like Words, words, words & Oh Bo.
I've watched most of the reactions to this video, most genuine of all of them.
Not only funny, but a serious performance artist.
Didn't disappoint. Seeing your reaction brought back my feelings from watching this the first time and just being completely blown away. Thank you 😘😘
You need to check out What, his first Netflix special. The left brain, right brain bit it amazing. Also check out his Comedy Central one, Words Words Words.
Just go through his entire library. Masterpieces all
I'm here a year later and I'm crying a lot. Lost my dad to a car crash and I'm trying to do what bo says here. I hope you are happy

i think he would LOSE HIS MIND over "we think we know you" from what

That's not a real crowd. He did this in his room. He is a genius

Great reaction. Subscribed. If you haven’t seen “How the world works” I would highly recommend it.
