Struggling with anxiety and depression while raising 2 kids: 🌧Look at them their just staring at me like come and watch the ( old women ) with the steadily declining mental health and laugh as she attempts to give them what she cannot give herself. 🌤 Great reaction
Bo is a fantastic story teller, and is exceptional when it comes to hiding deeper meanings: I think his reference to reaching for the bottom of a pringles is an analogy to reaching for happiness, that he just can't get there. Further displayed when he asks for others to raise their hands, and suggesting that they struggle to do the same. And then saying he wishes he had a daughter to help reach the happiness he cannot reach himself.
You say that you hope he's doing better now. You've seen his song "All Eyes On Me" and there was a follow-up on this right in the middle of that song. He is doing better now.
@@genostellar I think you missed the point of it… He said that things got better for him mentally, ‘and then the funniest thing happened’. Funniest thing = the Covid pandemic. The entire special is about how his mental health has deteriorated again after being inside for a year. ‘All Eyes on Me’ is the opposite of a positive song. He’s literally asking the viewer to ‘pray’ for him.
@@WaleOfATime32 The funniest thing happened means that he couldn't perform live again because of the pandemic, not that his mental health got worse. Unless you have an interview where he says it got worse again, I think you're confusing art with mental health.
@@genostellar Well yes, but those two things go hand in hand. He says that his mental health improved enough to perform again, but then the pandemic happened which meant that he couldn’t perform, thus resulting in the downturn of his mental health again. We don’t need interview quotes to confirm this. It’s what the entire special is about. About 5 minutes previously, he says that his mental health is at an ‘all time low’. Just before ‘All Eyes on Me’ begins, he starts crying and says that he is ‘not ok’. You can’t get any clearer than that. And, as I said, the lyrics to the song are also clearly related to mental health. He asks the viewers to ‘pray for him’ and says that the world has ‘already ended’.
Look into the theories behind the meaning. This song can be interpreted so many ways. Like he’s the burrito and feels overloaded. Or that he CANt HANDle this is like him talking about his hands not fitting in the can.
I think the most powerful and tragic part of this is when he goes back into the "i wouldnt'a got the lettuce if i knew it wouldnt fit..." right after he says he should shut up and do his job after bearing his soul on stage.... its the epitome of a performer's panic on stage having to be stuffed down to deliver a great experience. I struggled with this as a musician on stage when i was in my early 20s. It had nothing to do with the actual crowd there and really just my perception of the crowd's thoughts and expectations. It was a constant battle for so long. R
Really appreciate your thoughts on this-authenticity is rare these days, and it takes a brave individual to speak so frankly to a camera. It’s a gift you have, and one you’re giving. Thank you
The amount of worried people asking if he is ok right now after sseing this performance is astounding. I wish he knows that people really understood him, that he actually made a huge impact with this. Depressed people often feel and think that they are alone and nobody, literally nobody understands them. I wish with all my heart that he finally felt that he's been heard, that people relate, care and understand. This was so powerful, and at the same time the most tragic performance I have ever seen.
i think its incredible when hes honest and vulnerable all the lights are on his face. Then says ill shut up and do my job and the lights come from behind and you cant see his face and hes back to the quirky jokes. its like hes back to his stage persona which is just a shell of what hes actually feeling. did i say that right?
I think the Pringles & Burrito rants are symbolizing his life. Pringles = Knows what he wants out of life but can’t have (or grasp) it. Burrito = His life as a celebrity in the spotlight. Maybe he would’ve done things differently had he known what it REALLY took to be a celebrity. Even his comedy is a symbolism of his life. I urge you to go back and watch his first 2 Netflix specials armed with knowing about his mental health. He’s a musical & sarcastic genius with his comedy. Using both of these funny rants (handling Pringles & Burritos) to share his message about handling fame. Glad he had the strength to share ALL of this with the world and bring a spotlight to mental health with his powerful “Inside” special. God Bless

He recently released a special called “Inside” on Netflix, it’s really something amazing and you should either react to his songs from that or watch the whole special through on your own. It is fabulous
make happy was him trying to make the best of the conflicting world by joking and making people laugh. but when also he opened up to the audience i got chills dude. he is in so much pressure to please us but we just want him to be able to enjoy performing comedy. and in my opinion, Inside wasnt healthy for his mental health at all. it kept him alone with his thoughts of trying to come up with something good enough to please us. i hope he can do more specials in the future and finds what he needs to be able to deal with all the shit that he carries on a day to day life.
This special was the last one before he quit stand up. And I think he talked about having a panic attack during the special. So it contextualizes his new special “Inside” a lot more.
@Jooo if you are already doing it off Netflix, you should record yourself watching the entire INSIDE special and edit out the songs you want to show us. That way you get to watch the special and show us your reaction at the same time, although editing might be a bit of a hassle 🧐 it'll be worth it.
This was recorded in 2016. Bo had begun having panic attacks while onstage, which he had to just keep locked inside, because his shows are so meticulously timed. After this tour he stopped touring altogether. That said, the tough thing when talking about Bo Burnham is that he's telling his truth onstage, but he's also keeping himself at an ironic distance from the audience. As heartrending as this song is, as much as it seems to be him ripping his open wounds for the audience, it was a song he performed every night he performed. And yeah, he's doing okay now. Part of that is therapy and dealing with his anxiety, but at the same time, he's had the same partner for 8 years, he's got a successful career, a critically acclaimed movie that he wrote and directed, and a new special out now. So yeah, this Bo is real, but it isn't, and yeah, even though I know that, it still hits me every time I see it. This was a great reaction video. I've seen a few people reacting to it, and there's so much focus on the surface stuff ("Ha...yeah, my hands are too big for Pringles too!") and you just went right to what he was really saying. So excellent work.
To me, there’s no deeper meaning to the burritos and pringles. It’s just easier to focus on the small things than it is to really reflect on our real issues. For instance, when you see someone overreact to a setback so small, there’s almost always bigger harder things that they can’t confront and it’s easier to put our energy into the burritos of the world rather than our true problems and fears. But I’ve seen many theorize that the burritos are a metaphor for fame and all that comes with it, and it’s a truly interesting theory that may be true. Bo will never tell us so we can continue to converse about it until we’re blue in the face.
@@SteadyRock91 I personally agree with the initial comment, but this is a really great interpretation too. I believe Bo's said before that the burrito didn't really have any intrinsic meaning, but that we were also free to interpret it as we liked because art doesn't just belong to the creator, but the audience aswell. He also said that it may have been an unconscious association by him, but nobody will ever know.
No song sums up Bo's genius more than this one. If he just spent five minutes doing a Kanye parody/homage it would work incredibly well because his performance/production is so high quality. Then he hits you with the point of the song out of nowhere and you have to rethink it entirely. Apparently the second verse (about the burrito) is meant to be symbolism for his rise to stardom. He thought becoming famous would be amazing. Money, fame, anything he wanted. But nobody warned him about the other things that came with it. And all of a sudden the burrito overflowed.
your reaction has me crying about this song all over again T^T more songs I could recommend you try?? Well, the Tool rabbit hole would definitely bring in views, and a famously ravenous and thirsty fanbase too. I even think you'd be good at it!! there's a lot of depth of meaning to chew on in those songs. But then you WILL be stuck with people asking for every single Tool song, because.... they don't really have any bad ones? No wrong way to jump into Tool either, I think. It'd even be refreshing for a reactor to go in and just listen to what they want and say what they want about it without everyone explaining it to them. Prison Sex's music video is famous for being taken off MTV after one airing, The Pot has famously crazy vocals, Vicarious is an absolute banger, everyone fuckin talks about Lateralus... my personal favorite is Parabol + Parabola. ... Unless you've already heard of Tool, in which case, disregard all of that my REAL, personal, self-indulgent recommendation? Bug Hunter. Dear McCracken is their most famous song, but my all time favorite is Disco! In The Panic Room. They've really got a way with words.
There’s one (other) thing I find interesting with this song, although it may not have been intentional at the time. That is the fact that the song mockingly mirrors Kanye’s autotuned rant at the end of one of his shows. Bo seems to be mocking Kanye’s ‘problems’ as being superficial. But isn’t Kanye another big example of someone who’s mental health has been steadily declining in front of our eyes? In a way, this song (amongst all the other metaphors and soul-bearing) feels also to me like a nod to Kanye’s real problems rather than a joke at his expense.
I can never watch this bit without getting emotional. This performance was where I realized he wasn't really a comedian and was more of a performance artist. You can see the seeds of this in his special "If." I see others have already given context for the bit and how it relates to Inside so I'll just say it's cool seeing others have similar reactions.
Bo has no doubt anxity attacks, but he is not depressed as people say, having anxiety is just one aspect to ones life, their are many others, Bo is certainly not alone in this category for many reason. But I would seriously recommend that everyone stop with, Bo is Depressed nonsense and go watch some of his interviews to gain deeper perspective n Bo and how he handles these things otherwise these rumors just get getting bigger and bigger. This Make happy ending is the most Epic way anyone anywhere found a way to exit comedy, did this stop Bo? No not at all, he went on to direct and produce a Movie "8th Grade" he went on to start creating his next Netflix show :Inside" he has traveled and appeared in many countless interviews. during the last 4 or so years. Somehow everyone has this idea that Bo sits around in a room all alone depressed and no hope for him and I don;t think this is the case at all, Bo left comedy because it was not as fulfilling as his real passion, his real passion is Theatrical Drama mixed with Comedy and Music and this is why he initially left Standup Comedy. What Bo is talking about in many of his show especially the most recent "Inside" imho is more about the audience than it is about himself, ironic that it's the audience that gives him the anxiety in the first place, think about that LOL On a final note, first rule of thumb.... Actors Act... it's entertainment, it's art, it's creative expression, it's passion, it's and Act.. everyone, please stop taking everything so literal and while Bo may experience anxiety from time to time, it's certainly not a debilitating issues, hard yes, but I believe he has used this attribute to his advantage, thus allows him to control his anxiety rather than allowing the Anxiety to control himself, so there's that. My point is, try and keep things in perspective. nothing is as it appears to be on the surface, it never was. their are always many multiple layers and levels to everything, the deep you go, the more you learn, the better you understand. the main message from Bo above all else, is that he is a Master at getting you all to think deeper and this to me, is the biggest lesson of all.
Bo: "I hope you're happy"
Me: bursts into tears*
I don't even make it that long. "Laugh as he attempts to give you what he cannot give himself" is usually when it gets me.
Same :(

No song sums up Bo's genius more than this one. If he just spent five minutes doing a Kanye parody/homage it would work incredibly well because his performance/production is so high quality. Then he hits you with the point of the song out of nowhere and you have to rethink it entirely. Apparently the second verse (about the burrito) is meant to be symbolism for his rise to stardom. He thought becoming famous would be amazing. Money, fame, anything he wanted. But nobody warned him about the other things that came with it. And all of a sudden the burrito overflowed.
your reaction has me crying about this song all over again T^T
more songs I could recommend you try?? Well, the Tool rabbit hole would definitely bring in views, and a famously ravenous and thirsty fanbase too. I even think you'd be good at it!! there's a lot of depth of meaning to chew on in those songs. But then you WILL be stuck with people asking for every single Tool song, because.... they don't really have any bad ones?
No wrong way to jump into Tool either, I think. It'd even be refreshing for a reactor to go in and just listen to what they want and say what they want about it without everyone explaining it to them. Prison Sex's music video is famous for being taken off MTV after one airing, The Pot has famously crazy vocals, Vicarious is an absolute banger, everyone fuckin talks about Lateralus... my personal favorite is Parabol + Parabola.
... Unless you've already heard of Tool, in which case, disregard all of that
my REAL, personal, self-indulgent recommendation? Bug Hunter. Dear McCracken is their most famous song, but my all time favorite is Disco! In The Panic Room. They've really got a way with words.
Hits hard is spot on
I seriously think Bo is severely depressed. His comedy is how he deals with it. I hope he gets help. (He may already have.) Love his comedy though.
Watch it all the way through without stopping main
Subbed
From God's Perspective, Left brain right brain, #deep
I think you would really love Left Brain, Right Brain :)
Agreed! Do it, that one is gonna split your brain and blow your mind :)
Please react to We Think We Know You! It's the finale song to his first special, What. It's great. I think you would enjoy it.
You're so empathetic. You would be a great father.
Okay, spill it guys and gals, how many times have u watched this song?
Ive watched it like 20 ish times i guess
he became famous when he was like 13 or 14
You should check out the new Jinjer song Vortex
I can never watch this bit without getting emotional. This performance was where I realized he wasn't really a comedian and was more of a performance artist. You can see the seeds of this in his special "If." I see others have already given context for the bit and how it relates to Inside so I'll just say it's cool seeing others have similar reactions.
Can someone please protecc Bo already?
It kinda breaks your heart a bit huh?
Yeah 😢
What Bo is talking about in many of his show especially the most recent "Inside" imho is more about the audience than it is about himself, ironic that it's the audience that gives him the anxiety in the first place, think about that LOL
On a final note, first rule of thumb....
He's not doing better 😭😭😭
hmmmmm, sus reaction.
