Hahaha I told you so. They have a lot of new old stock however; once they have depleted the stock then it's gone for ever, get it while you can. I used to live in Golders Green in London and I have been using Cricklewood Electronics since I was was a teenager that's the 80's BTW. Also the 2SC2078 you showed looks to me as an original Sanyo device you can tell by the slice in the number 8, the ones you are most probably used to seeing were made by KEC who did not originally develop this transistor . I'm glad that you listened to me. Good video

@@MicroChipz Just one other thing, the C1964 also looks original as Mitsubishi didn't always put the 3 diamonds logo on all their transistors. You can generally tell Mitsubishi devices as they use an E30 TO-220 package which has a slightly narrower fin than a standard TO220 package. This is a very difficult package for the counterfeiters to copy even today because you would need a specialised die pack to manufacture them. In the late 70's and 80's there was a surplus of C1964's as it was not a commonly used RF transistor in PLL type rigs and counterfeiters would re badge them as C1969's but they don't produce the same power. For my sins I used to be in the semiconductor game. It's a bit of trivia I know but I thought that you might find it interesting. Keep the video's coming as I love all the old radio gear and it's nice to see people with a passion for it.

@@chris_vandepeer Hi Chris no problem on the heads up. I checked their website but they don't seem to have 2SC1969 in stock but they do offer an equivalent 2SC1307 made by NEC but I have no experience with this transistor in this type of radio.
