    Ive commited to let all of my hydrangeas grow this year. When I bought them all in the last few years I cut all their blooms off to allow their roots to get settled in, a couple had cane boars so they got severly cut back so Im praying all will do well this year. It broke my heart to cut my pinky winky severely and my zin fin doll. They were my two favorite ones. Luckily plants are very forgiving and they want to survive inspite of us at times. Cant wait to see your garden this year.

    I love your yard. You've inspired me to really get my yard ready early. Do you sketch before you start?

      YaY! I'm so glad ur inspired!😁 No I've never sketched out any of my beds actually! I just go with the flow.. once I get outside I just kind of find places for plants to go LoL 🤷🏾‍♀️ (that's probably why I'm always moving plants around 🤣)

    Grubs will kill a lawn in one season. Next time throw the grubs in your birdbath. They are a great source of protein for the birds.

    That metal edging seems to be the big thing this year...I don't care for it either :( Everything looking good :)
    FYI, you have metal edging listed in your "favorite garden things " 😉 might want to revisit that

    • @KreatyveGardenista
      @KreatyveGardenista  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks so much! And YES the metal edging is listed in my favorite things bc it works amazing to keep the weeds/grass out of my beds. I just don't care for the look of it. As a front border.🤣 All of the items listed in my shop are things I personally use & recommend for gardening 👩🏾‍🌾💚

    I'm pitching to mulch! Sorry about your lime light! I felt that! At least the evergreen can now go to new growth! NEED THE OPALESENCE!😅 SUN PATIENTS! I thought I bought two flats of pink and you'll see I was tricked haha. Those Japanese beetles destroyed my crepe last year! I'm going to treat this year too. Everything looks great! Just subscribed!❤

    Not surprised regarding the limelight tree...My limelight hydrangeas all died when the temps dropped below 24 degrees two years ago. Haven't replaced them since but loved them during that summer season. You r so ambitious to tackle all the mulch right away! Kudos. I'm still plugging away at weeding my beds. LOL

    I've got a weeping japanese maple that is acting similar to your hydrangea. I've researched it but not sure what's going on. Hey I see some windmill palms at that nursery! One of my specialties, lol. I hear ya on the garden centers. I could shop them every weekend going one to the next. I haven't heard of that hosta (autumn frost), beautiful leaves. Gorgeous rockapulco impatiens. I definitely favor pinks and purple blooms in my garden. Man I got weeds in my garden, it's a constant chore. I need a ton of mulch. You're finished bed looks great! Can't wait to see it progress over the year.

    • @KreatyveGardenista
      @KreatyveGardenista  5 месяцев назад +1

      My hydrangea tree was uprooted several times in high winds & damaged in the tornado last year. The roots took a real beating so that's why there was so much dead. It will fill out again next year they push lots of growth in one season.💚 Check the roots on your maple & soil test!😉🙏🏾

    I had a limelight do something weird this year as well. I trimmed all of my limelights at the same time mid-March and one succumbed (I think) to a light frost that happened a few days afterward since I didn't bother covering them because I always think of them being one of the more hardy things in my yard (I'm in 8a); it was about 2 months before my year warranty was up, so I decided to go ahead and replace it but it was only 1 that it happened to in a whole hedge of them planted at the same time-- all the others leafed out and haven't missed a beat, so who knows what happened but I guess I'll be covering them after pruning now if I can to avoid a gap in my hedge!

    • @KreatyveGardenista
      @KreatyveGardenista  5 месяцев назад

      Sorry to hear about your limelight but I'm glad you were able to replace it! Sometimes things like that just happen in gardening. Trust me I've lost & replaced PLENTY of plants over the years! Mine was damaged in the tornado last year it was uprooted several times in the high winds last season so I'm just glad it's not totally dead. It will be fine limelights push tons of growth each season 🙏🏾
