I understand this feeling well sadly. My dog of 15 years just had to be put down q couple months ago. It hurts but you just have to keep in mind that you gave them a great life and a full life so it just naturally ran its course.

No way. Law will only continue to become an even more important character. And kidd we literally know nothing about, he JUST started to get some good screen time in wano act III. Kidd just has too much stacked against him. I can see him surviving by the skin of his teeth. Kinda like Luffy vs Kaido in Wano.Kidd could end up like Moriah. Losing his crew to Shanks the Yonko. The other way is that Shanks needs Kidd to do something. Maybe his powers or maybe Kidd has an Eternal Pose he wants or something and so let's him live. It is also possible that Kidd gets some allies in the fight. Maybe some of BB Captains? The last possible way is that Shanks makes it seem like he lost without losing. Like the world thinks he lost but he just beat the crap out of Kidd and leaves but the story spreading is that Kidd best Shanks.

What needs to be remembered is neither Kid nor Law had Conqueror coating. Maybe Kidd's fight with Shanks and Law's fight with Blackbeard is gonna have them unlock it.
That’s not really something you just “unlock”. Luffy trained like hell to specifically achieve that, and it still took many, MANY tries before he could finally use it against Kaido. Besides, even after that, he still had to fight like hell to finally beat him.

I'm 100% behind the idea that the red force has room full of straw hats that Shanks hands out to random kids he meets in bars. And that Kidd actually gave his arm to save Shanks.
I can see a situation where the Barto club help Kid, thinking that he's still allied with Luffy. Remember that when the Red hair pirates were going passed wano, they were apparently on their way to deal with Barto claiming their territory in Luffy's name. I don't know how much they would help, but I can see it happening. Maybe the New Giant pirates also help out, who knows. I just can't see Oda writing Kid into a situation where he gets washed completely. Kid is meant to be considered as one of the top tiers in the verse now. His bounty tells us that. But realistically, he doesn't do anything in the scenario as it stands.
I think Kid and Law’s journeys to Laughtale are over. There not going to die, but I think Oda is going to show that even people as strong as them can only go against the Emperors for so long unless they truly are cut out to be the Pirate King, or an Emperor themselves.
@@HurricaneDDragon It certainly looks that way based on the set up, but it just seems weird to me, based on their portrayal, that Oda would rule them out as rivals literally straight after they all left Wano. They are meant to be this new emerging generation of pirates. It just shows how lucky Luffy is. If he had been the one to win the draw against Shanks. It wouldn't be the end of his journey; he would have just had a touching re-union with Shanks. Or if Shanks left, they just end up on Elbaf where they have so many allies.
@@young_raymond47 They’ve been his rivals since before the timeskip. They’ve done a lot in that regard, but it’s clearly not a competition anymore. I don’t really think they’re ever going to really have what it takes to beat an Emperor one-one-one, but who knows what the future holds for them beyond the scope of the story of One Piece?
@@HurricaneDDragon I think Law is less important because he has done plenty as part of the story that we're following. I've seen people suggest that he's close enough to the straw hats to accompany them to Laugh Tale anyways. I don't see that personally (I don't see Laugh Tale as a place where people just casually tag along to; it doesn't make sense narratively), but Luffy or Robin could certainly relay the information he wants to know about the Will of D, just like Roger did with Whitebeard. I find it harder to justify this being the end of Kid's contribution to the race to Laugh Tale. He just hasn't been that impressive. We've barely followed him, with most of what we've heard being how he took L after L. Even in the raid, he just wasn't that impressive. But more importantly, becoming the pirate king is his goal as well, making him a more direct rival. Whenever I think back to their conversation at the auction house (where Kid mentions to Killer how up until that point, mentioning the one piece had only been met with laughs etc.), I've always felt like Kid needs to be a more direct challenger to Luffy's bid to become pirate king. I don't feel like he has satisfied that role in the story yet.
Now that we're seeing more of Shanks, I wanna ask, what does Shanks consider a great pirate? Like we all just assume luffy is a great pirate, and for us he is, I mean beating kaido is not an easy task, but does he consider strength what makes you great? Or is there something else that we're missing by just assuming luffy is ready to meet Shanks?
@@TheSteiner12 I thought about that but if it's not just strength what makes one great, then no matter how strong luffy gets he'd never be a great pirate to Shanks, so I think Shanks already thought luffy is great since he reminded him of Roger, which is the only one I'm convinced Shanks does thinks is great, therefore Shanks probably never wanted the hat back, he probably just wants to test luffy's resolve
When Shanks and his crew show up at Wano they say "Luffy is a great pirate now" and to go see him but Shanks says no not because he isn't a great pirate but because he wants to deal with the bartolomeo stuff (aka Oda finding a plot point to delay it because he doesn't want it to happen yet)
I love how in terms of location Kid got the best one in terms of safety compared to Luffy and Law right now, but man he just have to make things extremely dangerous
Reminds me of Law fighting Blackbeard's crew. I don't see any scenario for either of them where they win, but clearly, they are going to try and make their opponents work for the victory.
The similarity between Shanks and Kid is insane. Both red headed pirates, with only one arm (their right arm), and a scar over their left eye. Also, I think it would be too obvious for Shanks to win and too unbelievable for Kid to win against Shank's entire crew. The only route I see happening is Kid joining the red-hair pirates either as a crew member, or at least an ally. Now at first it might seem also unbelivable for someone like Kid to follow somebody else, but we have a great example of that already happening with Ace and Whitebeard. Ace originally wanted to claim the one piece for himself, becoming king of the pirates to prove the world he's worthy of life. But eventually he wet Whitebeard and was able to fulfill his dream without becoming pirate king. I feel a similar situation could happen with Shanks and Kid. Kid and Law have to fall out of the pirate king race at some point, since the other yonko are now Luffy’s new rivals. Also, I think this could lead to Kid protecting Elbaf once Shanks leaves and he will be the person the straw hats first encounter once they arrive there.

And Ace was forced onto Whitebeard's ship, but considering how Kid would just kill anyone he didn't like, and is strong enough to do so, Shanks isn't letting him aboard the Redforce any time soon. And if Ace is like Luffy, which we know he is, Ace is fine with teaming up with and allying with people like how Luffy teamed up with Law. @@dean7005 while i don’t think it would be for the same reason, Kid appears to have a lot of issues himself. Has a big ego that’s gone way up since taking down Big Mom. Getting his ego put him check by Shanks could greatly change him depending on how it plays out.
Also a thing that a lot of people are saying to boost kid is that “Shanks needs help from the giants” which is just hilarious. Viz translation made it clearer but even from tcb it was obvious that he just wants their help mitigating damages. Doesn’t want Elbaf getting torn to shreds so he’s like, hey can you guys help keep this contained. That line had power scalers foaming at the mouth calling shanks scared 😂

You're right....but the same thing could be said about Marineford as well. The marines maximised their forces to get the perfect victory they wanted. Yet nobody brings that up and only hyped up Whitebeard saying "they needed the entire marine force to win"

If you remember, even Ben Beckman was able to sneak up on Kizaru and have his rifle pointed at him. Really hard to say who is fastest now, and chances could be that Lucky Ruu is faster for what ever reason. Either way, this is probably Kid's absolute dumbest move ever, even though he has been planning it to happen before dealing with Kaido.

Oh you know what! Wanting to learn more about what happened in Wano would be a reason for Shanks to spare Kid. Or even for the two of them to bond. Shanks does have a history of pulling serious people into parties, as we saw when Mihawk went to see him.
Benn probably didn't sever the arm. He probably just messed it up so bad when he clubbed it or shot it that Killer had to amputate it. Some bone breaks just don't heal right. Edit: Especially since I REALLY doubt the Kid Pirates have a decent doctor.
We could potentially see whatever it was that Kid was hiding from Law in regard to his awakening. Though I doubt whatever it is will be good enough against Shanks.

What are the odds that I literally just finished reading vinland saga yesterday 😂 I watched the anime since season 2 is out and I had heard nothing but good things about it and I absolutely loved this manga. It’s very different from the traditional battle manga I usually read while still keeping me interested.
Always assumed Kid severed his own arm and seeing that its Ben Beckman that was involved, maybe a seastone bullet got lodged in kids arm and kid had to cut it himself to get access to his DF and retreat.
@Tekking101 By definition "Speed" is "Distance traveled" divided by "Traveltime". So if one teleports, aka travels from A to B with no delay, you have a traveldistance of whatever meters A and B are apart (we still don't know if the warpfruit has a max range) divided by 0 seconds! As you know dividing by 0 is a no-no. So either you say his speed is infinite (technically any number divided by 0 would be infinite) or he does not have a "speed" by teleporting. Both arguments are valid depending on the context.
I think Oda put everyone in crazy situations because something that is gonna shock the whole world and turn everyone's attention away. I don't think its the straw hats time to die even with 100 ships on the way, its not kidds time to die even against Shanks and its not Laws time to die against BB. Something massive to do w the larger overall plot is about to happen
When we are due to a surprise, it's usually from players who haven't been on screen in a while. And you know what, the Cross Guild has been awfully quiet in the latest chapters. They are the biggest wildcard in this whole battle royale.

Remember when Shanks appeared at Mariejois in front of the gorosei? Not only did the gorosei accept the apointment, but Shanks wanted to talk to them about "A certain Pirate". At first i assumed this was Blackbeard. Now, in this chapter we learn that Shanks wants to take away Kid's poneglyph readings. This seems very significant because remember Shanks was on Roger's crew. he had access to those if he wanted to. So the only reason he wants to take the readings is to prevent Kid from reaching Laugh Tale. There are also many questions about Shanks that makes him due for a big plot twist eventually. -Why did he, who had info From Laugh Tale(written by a previous gomu gomu user) steal the gomu gomu fruit? -Why did the Gorosei allow his audience even after stealing the gomu gomu fruit? -Why did he appear on god valley, where world nobles were located? Maybe related to the question above and -Why would Oda ever throw Kid into a meaningless loss against Shanks for the second time? I think we can safely assume that the outcome of this thing is not going to just be "Kid got clapped"

Kid & Law teaming up to beat Big Mom seems like a pretty clear message from Oda that they’re equals, and then both second to Luffy. Everyone likes to sh*t on Kid and say he didn’t contribute as much to the fight. I don’t know how you can make that argument when his “Damned Punk” Rail Gun was LITERALLY the final blow to Big Mom with Law providing assistance so she couldn’t stop, avoid, or resist the attack. It was a 2-man job, case closed.

28:00 - Speed is more flexible than teleportation. You can't use teleportation to kick someone. But if you can move very fast, you can also attack very fast. Plus, speedsters tend to have enhanced reaction time since that's a necessity to be able to control your body as you move very fast. Van Augur may have that too, but if a regular human teleports behind Sanji, Sanji is still fast enough to notice him and attack fist. Even though the guy got close in an instant.
I think this speculation about the Kid vs Shanks fight seems awfully similar to the Luffy vs Lucci fight we had a couple chapters ago. We all thought that Lucci had no chance and that Luffy was gonna defeat him no problem, and that's true, but the reason why Lucci was there is so they can team up to defeat the Seraphim. I'm thinking it'll be a similar case here. If that's true, then the question is: Who's their common enemy? And well, we haven't seen much of Elbaf yet, so there could be a strong force hiding there. Maybe Loki? Or Othen? Or, how about this: Maybe it turns out that Blackbeard and Law are actually fighting very close by, so Kid & Shanks has to team up and help Law defeat Blackbeard. Other options include the usual suspects: Gorosei, Im, Rocks, etc., but I don't think any of them are too likely.
Yeah. Like Shanks said he was about to head out. So whoever he was going after just then, is who they go after together... Which I guess is going towards Blackbeards HQ to take out the rest of the crew and that's how they'll encounter Garp&Co as well. And how Garp will save Coby and not die.
I don't think Kid is on a high from the victory at Wano. I just think he is the kind of person who refuses to back down from a fight. But, he also for some reason wants to fight Shanks specifically. It feels like he wants something that has to do with Shanks. I have a weird feeling that there is more to it than just wanting to beat him.
Agreed, he fought in the battle against Kaido and Big Mom in part because he wanted to get revenge for what happened to Killer. Also, he is like Luffy in the sense that they are rather hard-headed, if they are defeated then their typical response is generally to try again until they win, they die (which hasn't happened in yet), or something else of greater importance gains their attention. It may seem foolish for Kid to fight Shanks when we don't know for absolutely sure that he can win, but the same argument could be made for the Strawhats or Kid fighting the Yonko, or any number of decisions made up to this point. If everyone spent all their time waiting until victory or success was certain before committing to something, nothing would ever get done for anyone on any side.
Started watching Vinland Saga this morning. I'm off work today so I know what I'm doing the next couple of hours 😂 good recommendation. I'm already pretty interested after that first episode.
Theory time! We have 3 wars going on close together. (1) Law (& soon Garp) VS BB. (2) Kidd VS Shanks and (3) Luffy VS WG. Law is having a hard time and Luffy is looking to leave the Island. What if Law is running away to Elbaf and Luffy also leaving to Elbaf. Potentially their enemies (BB & WG) chasing them. Then we get a huge war in Elbaf! Its a big enough Island for it and Oda mentioned an upcoming war will let Marineford look like nothing. On top of that gives Kidd some chances to stay alive in the chaos. Hope he can endure till then!
I am betting on Barto's crew being the ones lagging behind and being somehow the way Kid manages to not get completely destroyed by Shanks. Why? Because it feels like there should be some sort of closure on that hanging plot-point, and Barto, being an avid Strawhat fan, would be the perfect disruptor between two persons he sees as "Strawhat allies" by being a complete fanboy. In fact, if Oda wanted to do a major tease, getting Kid stuck into a fight against Barto rather than Shanks would let Kid leave with dignity X)
I wouldn't be shocked if Oda has Shanks kill Kid after a lengthy and drawn out battle, and Shanks isn't as soft to leave a dangerous threat as Kid live to plan a 3rd attack. If Kid did die at Shanks hand, how will Luffy feel, how will his crew feel? It would be the same dilemma Whitebeard had with Blackbeard with different cercumstances. A Nakama has killed a Nakama, and Luffy hasn't dealt with that yet.
They have said on multiple occasions that they know that fights between pirates are to the death. Luffy would 100% not have any issues with Shanks killing Kid if Kid attacked him
I was wondering this exact thing I was wondering what purpose does this fight serve. I understand the characters possible motivations but Oda’s plan is a mystery. I say Shanks kill Kidd and Luffy hates him or Kidd does kill Shanks now Luffy needs to decide what to do with Kidd. Either way it’s difficult.
I think even the manga stated a lot of Big Mom's power came from her ability to gather information. Using the surveillance system, and marrying her kids off to other powerful families. These families also have intel and armies of their own, and that's how she became powerful. Yes Big Mom is also physically powerful, but I agree in the thinking that she didn't get Emperor status from just being physically strong. Where that might be the case with Shanks

Kidd took damage before the fight, he took damage from the Killer and Hawkins fight, he was fighting Big Mom by himself for a little bit before Law showed up. He did so much
let me tell you one think that how that fight went out :- shanks met kid and said hey you are now my buddy because and you too have red hair and you have met luffy too. but then shanks looked at kid's left arm and then the rest is history.
I think it’s time to expand kids backstory, that’s why he wants to fight shanks, for some reason I feel like shanks did something to kid in the past and that will be explored
I haven't watched One Piece in years but this made me interested again. So 24 years after the creation of this series, Oda finally will reveal his strength? I will start over at Whole Cake Island because I quit somewhere early on because of the pacing. And now 3 episodes later I realize why I stopped watching, this series can only be watched if you have 300 episodes ahead of you lol. But I am gonna catch up that's for sure!

I like to think rockstar has something like the teleport or the clone fruit. Something that makes him unkillable. That would be why he kept a being sent out to see these dangerous people.
Minato was considered the fastest shinobi in Naruto, but he used Flying Raijin (teleportation) and had quick reaction time. Meanwhile Shisui was literally nicknamed for his skilled use of body flicker which is ACTUAL speed even though it's often believed to be teleportation. I know it's not One Piece related but speed and teleportation, so I thought it was relevent.
I doubt oda is gonna kill off kid and killer after so much screen time in wano, same goes for law, there is definitely going to be a deus ex machina moment that will save kid and his crew, wouldn't fit the style of oda But he is surely gonna get messed up, who knows maybe he'll lose his other arm too by all means
Someone pitch this in another video, but they bring up that back in little garden. The giants mention someone actually staying the whole year it takes to reset the log pose. It’s been thrown that it was Roger , but after this chapter the idea that it was shanks we he restarted his journey. He spent an entire year in little garden and he really got to bond with the the giants. it’s a theory but I am loving it and it would. Explain why his current base is elbaf.
So I went back and reread Little Garden after this chapter and I don't think that line was in the manga. In the anime (at least the English dub), Dorry mentions that their was one person that left early without waiting for the log to reset. They of course didn't know what happened to him.

I think the better analogy for speed, and why teleportation isnt speed, is: [A] > [B] > [C] [A] = Starting Point [B] = Travel (or speed) [C] = Destination Teleportation is Point A to Point C, there is no traveling without Point B so there is no speed with which to travel.

Kidd just has too much stacked against him. I can see him surviving by the skin of his teeth. Kinda like Luffy vs Kaido in Wano.Kidd could end up like Moriah. Losing his crew to Shanks the Yonko.
The other way is that Shanks needs Kidd to do something. Maybe his powers or maybe Kidd has an Eternal Pose he wants or something and so let's him live.
It is also possible that Kidd gets some allies in the fight. Maybe some of BB Captains?
The last possible way is that Shanks makes it seem like he lost without losing. Like the world thinks he lost but he just beat the crap out of Kidd and leaves but the story spreading is that Kidd best Shanks.

That’s not really something you just “unlock”. Luffy trained like hell to specifically achieve that, and it still took many, MANY tries before he could finally use it against Kaido. Besides, even after that, he still had to fight like hell to finally beat him.

I'm 100% behind the idea that the red force has room full of straw hats that Shanks hands out to random kids he meets in bars. And that Kidd actually gave his arm to save Shanks.
I can see a situation where the Barto club help Kid, thinking that he's still allied with Luffy. Remember that when the Red hair pirates were going passed wano, they were apparently on their way to deal with Barto claiming their territory in Luffy's name. I don't know how much they would help, but I can see it happening. Maybe the New Giant pirates also help out, who knows. I just can't see Oda writing Kid into a situation where he gets washed completely. Kid is meant to be considered as one of the top tiers in the verse now. His bounty tells us that. But realistically, he doesn't do anything in the scenario as it stands.

I think Kid and Law’s journeys to Laughtale are over. There not going to die, but I think Oda is going to show that even people as strong as them can only go against the Emperors for so long unless they truly are cut out to be the Pirate King, or an Emperor themselves.
@@HurricaneDDragon It certainly looks that way based on the set up, but it just seems weird to me, based on their portrayal, that Oda would rule them out as rivals literally straight after they all left Wano. They are meant to be this new emerging generation of pirates.
It just shows how lucky Luffy is. If he had been the one to win the draw against Shanks. It wouldn't be the end of his journey; he would have just had a touching re-union with Shanks. Or if Shanks left, they just end up on Elbaf where they have so many allies.

I don’t really think they’re ever going to really have what it takes to beat an Emperor one-one-one, but who knows what the future holds for them beyond the scope of the story of One Piece?
@@HurricaneDDragon I think Law is less important because he has done plenty as part of the story that we're following. I've seen people suggest that he's close enough to the straw hats to accompany them to Laugh Tale anyways. I don't see that personally (I don't see Laugh Tale as a place where people just casually tag along to; it doesn't make sense narratively), but Luffy or Robin could certainly relay the information he wants to know about the Will of D, just like Roger did with Whitebeard.
I find it harder to justify this being the end of Kid's contribution to the race to Laugh Tale. He just hasn't been that impressive. We've barely followed him, with most of what we've heard being how he took L after L. Even in the raid, he just wasn't that impressive. But more importantly, becoming the pirate king is his goal as well, making him a more direct rival. Whenever I think back to their conversation at the auction house (where Kid mentions to Killer how up until that point, mentioning the one piece had only been met with laughs etc.), I've always felt like Kid needs to be a more direct challenger to Luffy's bid to become pirate king. I don't feel like he has satisfied that role in the story yet.
Now that we're seeing more of Shanks, I wanna ask, what does Shanks consider a great pirate? Like we all just assume luffy is a great pirate, and for us he is, I mean beating kaido is not an easy task, but does he consider strength what makes you great? Or is there something else that we're missing by just assuming luffy is ready to meet Shanks?

When Shanks and his crew show up at Wano they say "Luffy is a great pirate now" and to go see him but Shanks says no not because he isn't a great pirate but because he wants to deal with the bartolomeo stuff (aka Oda finding a plot point to delay it because he doesn't want it to happen yet)

Reminds me of Law fighting Blackbeard's crew. I don't see any scenario for either of them where they win, but clearly, they are going to try and make their opponents work for the victory.
The similarity between Shanks and Kid is insane. Both red headed pirates, with only one arm (their right arm), and a scar over their left eye. Also, I think it would be too obvious for Shanks to win and too unbelievable for Kid to win against Shank's entire crew. The only route I see happening is Kid joining the red-hair pirates either as a crew member, or at least an ally. Now at first it might seem also unbelivable for someone like Kid to follow somebody else, but we have a great example of that already happening with Ace and Whitebeard. Ace originally wanted to claim the one piece for himself, becoming king of the pirates to prove the world he's worthy of life. But eventually he wet Whitebeard and was able to fulfill his dream without becoming pirate king. I feel a similar situation could happen with Shanks and Kid. Kid and Law have to fall out of the pirate king race at some point, since the other yonko are now Luffy’s new rivals. Also, I think this could lead to Kid protecting Elbaf once Shanks leaves and he will be the person the straw hats first encounter once they arrive there.

If you remember, even Ben Beckman was able to sneak up on Kizaru and have his rifle pointed at him. Really hard to say who is fastest now, and chances could be that Lucky Ruu is faster for what ever reason. Either way, this is probably Kid's absolute dumbest move ever, even though he has been planning it to happen before dealing with Kaido.
Lucky Ruu is faster cuz he can roll like sonic but Ben Beckman can move fast while stealthing, unlike Lucky Ruu. :p

@Tekking101 By definition "Speed" is "Distance traveled" divided by "Traveltime". So if one teleports, aka travels from A to B with no delay, you have a traveldistance of whatever meters A and B are apart (we still don't know if the warpfruit has a max range) divided by 0 seconds! As you know dividing by 0 is a no-no. So either you say his speed is infinite (technically any number divided by 0 would be infinite) or he does not have a "speed" by teleporting. Both arguments are valid depending on the context.
I think Oda put everyone in crazy situations because something that is gonna shock the whole world and turn everyone's attention away. I don't think its the straw hats time to die even with 100 ships on the way, its not kidds time to die even against Shanks and its not Laws time to die against BB. Something massive to do w the larger overall plot is about to happen
When we are due to a surprise, it's usually from players who haven't been on screen in a while. And you know what, the Cross Guild has been awfully quiet in the latest chapters. They are the biggest wildcard in this whole battle royale.

Remember when Shanks appeared at Mariejois in front of the gorosei? Not only did the gorosei accept the apointment, but Shanks wanted to talk to them about "A certain Pirate".
At first i assumed this was Blackbeard.
Now, in this chapter we learn that Shanks wants to take away Kid's poneglyph readings. This seems very significant because remember Shanks was on Roger's crew. he had access to those if he wanted to. So the only reason he wants to take the readings is to prevent Kid from reaching Laugh Tale.
There are also many questions about Shanks that makes him due for a big plot twist eventually.
-Why did he, who had info From Laugh Tale(written by a previous gomu gomu user) steal the gomu gomu fruit?
-Why did the Gorosei allow his audience even after stealing the gomu gomu fruit?
-Why did he appear on god valley, where world nobles were located? Maybe related to the question above
and
-Why would Oda ever throw Kid into a meaningless loss against Shanks for the second time?
I think we can safely assume that the outcome of this thing is not going to just be "Kid got clapped"

Kid & Law teaming up to beat Big Mom seems like a pretty clear message from Oda that they’re equals, and then both second to Luffy. Everyone likes to sh*t on Kid and say he didn’t contribute as much to the fight. I don’t know how you can make that argument when his “Damned Punk” Rail Gun was LITERALLY the final blow to Big Mom with Law providing assistance so she couldn’t stop, avoid, or resist the attack. It was a 2-man job, case closed.

Plus, speedsters tend to have enhanced reaction time since that's a necessity to be able to control your body as you move very fast. Van Augur may have that too, but if a regular human teleports behind Sanji, Sanji is still fast enough to notice him and attack fist. Even though the guy got close in an instant.

I think this speculation about the Kid vs Shanks fight seems awfully similar to the Luffy vs Lucci fight we had a couple chapters ago. We all thought that Lucci had no chance and that Luffy was gonna defeat him no problem, and that's true, but the reason why Lucci was there is so they can team up to defeat the Seraphim. I'm thinking it'll be a similar case here. If that's true, then the question is: Who's their common enemy? And well, we haven't seen much of Elbaf yet, so there could be a strong force hiding there. Maybe Loki? Or Othen? Or, how about this: Maybe it turns out that Blackbeard and Law are actually fighting very close by, so Kid & Shanks has to team up and help Law defeat Blackbeard. Other options include the usual suspects: Gorosei, Im, Rocks, etc., but I don't think any of them are too likely.
Yeah. Like Shanks said he was about to head out. So whoever he was going after just then, is who they go after together... Which I guess is going towards Blackbeards HQ to take out the rest of the crew and that's how they'll encounter Garp&Co as well. And how Garp will save Coby and not die.
I don't think Kid is on a high from the victory at Wano. I just think he is the kind of person who refuses to back down from a fight. But, he also for some reason wants to fight Shanks specifically. It feels like he wants something that has to do with Shanks. I have a weird feeling that there is more to it than just wanting to beat him.
Agreed, he fought in the battle against Kaido and Big Mom in part because he wanted to get revenge for what happened to Killer. Also, he is like Luffy in the sense that they are rather hard-headed, if they are defeated then their typical response is generally to try again until they win, they die (which hasn't happened in yet), or something else of greater importance gains their attention. It may seem foolish for Kid to fight Shanks when we don't know for absolutely sure that he can win, but the same argument could be made for the Strawhats or Kid fighting the Yonko, or any number of decisions made up to this point. If everyone spent all their time waiting until victory or success was certain before committing to something, nothing would ever get done for anyone on any side.

Theory time! We have 3 wars going on close together. (1) Law (& soon Garp) VS BB. (2) Kidd VS Shanks and (3) Luffy VS WG. Law is having a hard time and Luffy is looking to leave the Island.
What if Law is running away to Elbaf and Luffy also leaving to Elbaf. Potentially their enemies (BB & WG) chasing them. Then we get a huge war in Elbaf! Its a big enough Island for it and Oda mentioned an upcoming war will let Marineford look like nothing. On top of that gives Kidd some chances to stay alive in the chaos. Hope he can endure till then!

Why? Because it feels like there should be some sort of closure on that hanging plot-point, and Barto, being an avid Strawhat fan, would be the perfect disruptor between two persons he sees as "Strawhat allies" by being a complete fanboy.
In fact, if Oda wanted to do a major tease, getting Kid stuck into a fight against Barto rather than Shanks would let Kid leave with dignity X)
I wouldn't be shocked if Oda has Shanks kill Kid after a lengthy and drawn out battle, and Shanks isn't as soft to leave a dangerous threat as Kid live to plan a 3rd attack.
If Kid did die at Shanks hand, how will Luffy feel, how will his crew feel? It would be the same dilemma Whitebeard had with Blackbeard with different cercumstances.
A Nakama has killed a Nakama, and Luffy hasn't dealt with that yet.
They have said on multiple occasions that they know that fights between pirates are to the death. Luffy would 100% not have any issues with Shanks killing Kid if Kid attacked him
I was wondering this exact thing I was wondering what purpose does this fight serve. I understand the characters possible motivations but Oda’s plan is a mystery. I say Shanks kill Kidd and Luffy hates him or Kidd does kill Shanks now Luffy needs to decide what to do with Kidd. Either way it’s difficult.
The Strawhats don't consider Kid a friend, he's not even an ally anymore. Kid's kind of a pos.

I think even the manga stated a lot of Big Mom's power came from her ability to gather information. Using the surveillance system, and marrying her kids off to other powerful families. These families also have intel and armies of their own, and that's how she became powerful. Yes Big Mom is also physically powerful, but I agree in the thinking that she didn't get Emperor status from just being physically strong. Where that might be the case with Shanks

I haven't watched One Piece in years but this made me interested again. So 24 years after the creation of this series, Oda finally will reveal his strength? I will start over at Whole Cake Island because I quit somewhere early on because of the pacing. And now 3 episodes later I realize why I stopped watching, this series can only be watched if you have 300 episodes ahead of you lol. But I am gonna catch up that's for sure!
Try the "One Pace" version. It's a fan-made re-edit of the series with the pacing improved and the filler removed. It's easy to find online.

I like to think rockstar has something like the teleport or the clone fruit. Something that makes him unkillable. That would be why he kept a being sent out to see these dangerous people.
My guess is we’re not gonna see ANY of the Shanks vs Kid fight. Same with the remainder of the Law vs Blackbeard fight.
I still say law played more of a support while kid was the dps, law did the set up and kid did the finishing shot
Minato was considered the fastest shinobi in Naruto, but he used Flying Raijin (teleportation) and had quick reaction time.
Meanwhile Shisui was literally nicknamed for his skilled use of body flicker which is ACTUAL speed even though it's often believed to be teleportation.
I know it's not One Piece related but speed and teleportation, so I thought it was relevent.
I doubt oda is gonna kill off kid and killer after so much screen time in wano, same goes for law, there is definitely going to be a deus ex machina moment that will save kid and his crew, wouldn't fit the style of oda
But he is surely gonna get messed up, who knows maybe he'll lose his other arm too by all means

It’s been thrown that it was Roger , but after this chapter the idea that it was shanks we he restarted his journey. He spent an entire year in little garden and he really got to bond with the the giants.
it’s a theory but I am loving it and it would. Explain why his current base is elbaf.
So I went back and reread Little Garden after this chapter and I don't think that line was in the manga. In the anime (at least the English dub), Dorry mentions that their was one person that left early without waiting for the log to reset. They of course didn't know what happened to him.

Could be due to mistranslation on whatever version of that chapter the original post was referring to.
Even if it wasn’t the entire year. If shanks was on little garden for more than enough time to establish a bond with the giants. It’s a really good 😊 head cannon.

Law also was the one that broke BM's arm. She even points out that it was his puncture wille attack that did it lol Kid was a distraction at best, but he didn't deal any real damage
I think the better analogy for speed, and why teleportation isnt speed, is:
[A] > [B] > [C]
[A] = Starting Point
[B] = Travel (or speed)
[C] = Destination
Teleportation is Point A to Point C, there is no traveling without Point B so there is no speed with which to travel.
