Remember when the freeshop was available during 2014-2018? That was piracy at its peak. When that app was installed on your 3DS, it mimicked the eshop app and allowed you to download games, updates, and DLC *_DIRECTLY_* from Nintendo's servers for FREE because you were tricking the servers into thinking that you "already bought" the game, but were just redownloading it. It was crazy. It was impressive that it lasted for 4 whole years before Nintendo finally patched things up server-side so that their servers wouldn't be tricked anymore. I know that it was doing the developers dirty by using it at the time, but it was as if the shoulder devil somehow got the shoulder angel that you see in cartoons to look the other way when I was using the freeshop.
I thought everyone was crazy for saying this was good, but then I did this and now I finally have that Pokedex application I've wanted for years now. It only goes up to Unova! Still, I think it was worth it. Now i just need a custom theme or two....
The hshop isn't without it's flaws, though. For example, it only has the demo version of Ironfall invasion, leaving no other way of actually getting the game in the future except from shady websites
The hShop was both a lifesaver and a moneysaver during the countdown to the eShop's shutdown. Even if the games weren't that expensive (especially when the final sale was happening before the shutdown), the DLC for some games begged to differ. *Especially* the DLC for RPGs which ranged from either being nearly as expensive as the game itself, to being almost *double* the price of the base game! Also, for those looking to grab specific official themes from the hShop, make sure Anemone3DS (a custom theme manager) is installed on your 3DS. The folks behind hShop haven't figured out how to successfully install themes the way the Theme Shop did and plus the official themes are region locked while Anemone3DS isn't meaning you can easily get themes from other regions. Also also, the Movies & TV section was removed for multiple reasons. Copyright was one of the reasons, but there were more technical and time consuming problems as well.

Today I opened my 2ds and looked at the state of the shop. Everything can be seen, but not downloaded. Only the stuff you downloaded before I believe. Im downloading picross for the memories, but will mod very soon. This is a dream come true.
hshop is convenient but its the experience gets ruined cause my 3ds gets capped at 150 kb/s :/ But its nice to download a bunch of themes and virtual consoles though.
You can still play online, update games you own, see the eshop (which will be useless pretty soon), download updates and DLC for your games/roms from the hshop alternatively and more. There is even a homebrew version for Miiverse (rverse) that revived the service!

Like the same for the Popcorn Time app that there used to be forever go where the authorities basically have like a search warrant for the charges and they were required hand over all the data traffic from their app said that they could see all the exposed IP addresses and send them copyright notices.

Not all the games, for example games like NDS games may destroy your 3DS because this files are big and if something wrong with the download process maybe your 3Ds is going to be corrupt and you can lost all your files.

Yes you need to act. They're two entirely different services. As he as at the verry veging, its a HOMEBREW store. all it's doing is storing the games, dlc, themes, etc. they wouldn't have access to nintendo's internal purchas data.

I’m not sure if anyone is getting this problem and if anyone can help me but for some games that I install off of hshop the motion controls either partially work or don’t work at all and for some games it works perfectly fine i don’t believe it’s an issue with my 3ds in general but I’m not sure how to fix it if anyone could help that would be awesome.
i don't think it even _can_ be an issue due to hshop, since the games are exactly as if it were your own original games, it's most likely actually your hardware
Now that the eshop services have closed you can no longer create a mii, making all current home-brew methods obsolete. Which means you can't access h shop unless you already had a mii on your 3ds :(

You can install directly from that QR code, so you don't even need to take your SD card of the 3DS. I think it's FBI > Remote Install > Scan QR code.

They should still work from what I understand
it has the same features as if you were dumping from your own games because thats basically what it is so online works

What’s CTR Nand?
Not all the games, for example games like NDS games may destroy your 3DS because this files are big and if something wrong with the download process maybe your 3Ds is going to be corrupt and you can lost all your files.
Small files is ok, but remember, maybe the game that your looking for is not available, buy the game you really want to play before the eshop close.
