Great cover and an epic movie too, might I add. I know commercially Miami Vice (2006) was not successful, but I thought it was a fantastic movie and I wish they would have made a sequel. :(
@@goriflex2441 i feel like story in the movie is rather lacking, also not a fan of shower scenes lol they honestly feel a bit too exaggerated, but i get why they are there i like the movie though
I *love* the Phil Collins original, so when I heard this song around the same time I seen the movie, I was pleasantly surprised on how this cover of one of my favorite songs of all time turned out. It exceeded my expectations and now I have two versions of In The Air Tonight that I absolutely love to death.
I love this version of the song. I remember during one of our trips to Southeast Asia they were cycling Miami Vice on one of the aircraft's video channels and I dozed off while watching it, and happened to wake up just as this song started playing through the cheap and uncomfortable (by that time) headphones over the monotonous background drone of the turbofans as the closing credits began to roll and I instantly fell in love with it.
I like the the original better, but this cover is pretty good in my opinion. Nonpoint were smart enough to stick closely to the spirit of the original while making the song their own, no easy task. Kudos to them.
Its a bad ass remake of an epic song. To those that are whining...deal with it. These guys rock and have added DIMENSION to the song. Its good and an honorable remake of Collins' classic!
If I were listening to this song when the song picks up I would put the pedal to the board and the 383 big block would just be roaring down the road in my 1965 sport fury in the dead of night
In the 80's I floored my RX7 gas pedal at Phil Collins' drum riff...today I put the hammer down on my C300 and zoom up the left lane on the LIE (Long Island Expressway)
I'm surprised how well this turned out. This is like if Killswitch Engage covered Dio- Wait... Like if Shinedown covered Lynyrd Sky- Uh... It's like if Johnny Cash covered Nine Inch Na-... Carry on.
I'm a fan of cover songs and this one is top flight. Nonpoint is one the best bands I've heard in a long time. Raw, gritty, and straight up bad ass music is what they bring on every album.
Maybe they aren't trying to outdo a song that already exists.. but they are trying to do a tribute to the song? Most bands don't do covers to improve the song, but they are acknowledging that this song inspired them and putting their own spin on it?
The thing is when a classic song is covered it's tribute. When it's done well it's ateaser to folks who may not have heard it before (I don't know how though as it's a AOR staple) and might get them motivated to listen to some early Genesis or something. This version has several good things going for it. Vocals are different but come back to some of Phil Collins' notes to keep it from straying too far. I like the range from the distorted guitars to the almost Chill like drums. It strays a little farther than the original but why not?
This is the first time that I've heard this song remake by Nonpoint, and it KICKS ASS! I just seen Disturbed at U-FEST in Phoenix and they done the remake of "Killing in the name of" and oh my gosh, it was every bit of AMAZING! Nonpoint, keep on keeping on... and of course bringing the rest of us your AWESOME music in the process 💕
These guys are great!!! I am looking forward to seeing them again at the Webster Theater in Hartford, CT on 11/15/13. I love this cover of "In The Air Tonight" A Master Piece!!!
trey burke Wow that was such a jumble of nonsense and bad grammar I did not even bother to read it. Why don't you grow up kid, just cause you can cuss like a sailor doesn't make you badass.
Vincent Larone lol you did read what i said. you admitted you did at first, then at the end said you didnt lol. im sure you are a bad ass i mean you like phill collins lol
this song made the movie for me and then i discovered non point... thank you Michael Mann and non point and phill collins this brought quality into my life!!!!!!
Hey Nonpoint, just found out about you when you opened for Disturbed last night in Vancouver. I have to say you guys were a blast to watch on stage, very entertaining. I loved the humor you guys had and playing a Phil Collins cover when opening for Disturbed was hilarious.
Gotta say that no one can ever top the original because it's Phils heart, soul and deepest feelings in those lyrics. But you don't have to top an original to make a fucking awesome cover. And this is by far the best cover I heard of it - period.
this version is hella old i can't believe you all just now started listening to it lol. I listened to it when the Miami Vice movie came out. It played on the radio all the time not to mention I down loaded it.
Best Nonpoint moment for me is when they played the superbowl halftime show in The Mechanicsburg Hardware Bar... I can't remember which superbowl, i think patriots/eagles, but it was an amazing, short show. all their hits, including this, which to my knowledge they don't play that often.
Wow, excellent reimagining of the Phil Collins classic 🤘 It has taken way too long for this to cross my path, why didn't I hear this when it was released? 🤔
I can feel it coming in the air tonight Oh, Lord And I've been waiting for this moment for all my life Oh, Lord Oh, Lord Well, when you told me you were drowning I would not lend a hand I've seen your face before, my friend But I don't know if you know who I am Well, I was there and I saw what you did I saw it with my own two eyes So you can wipe off that grin I know where you've been It's all been a pack of lies I can feel it coming in the air tonight Oh, Lord And I've been waiting for this moment for all my life Oh, Lord Oh, Lord Well, I remember I remember, don't worry How could I ever forget, it's the first time The last time we ever met (Met, met, met) But I know the reason why you keep me silenced up No, you don't see me 'Cause the hurt doesn't show Pain still grows No stranger to you and me I can feel it coming in the air tonight Oh, Lord And I've been waiting for this moment for all my life Oh, Lord I can feel it in the air tonight, oh Lord Oh, Lord And I've been waiting for this moment for all my life Oh Lord, oh Lord I can feel it coming in the air tonight Oh, Lord And I've been waiting for this moment for all my life Oh, Lord Oh, Lord
This song is a classic...love it...Nonpoint did a great job bringing it back with a heavier sound...sweet!!!!
Great cover and an epic movie too, might I add. I know commercially Miami Vice (2006) was not successful, but I thought it was a fantastic movie and I wish they would have made a sequel. :(
I love the series and the movie also. Don’t understand why it wasn’t successful, great image, story, music, shotouts...
@@goriflex2441 i feel like story in the movie is rather lacking, also not a fan of shower scenes lol
they honestly feel a bit too exaggerated, but i get why they are there
i like the movie though
I wish Linkin Park would cover in the air tonight. I think
Chester's voice would be amazing for it
reading this comment hurts :( RIP
Comment aged well

Go Nanaimo!!
Such a great song, such a great cover. Both versions are amazing.
I love this version of the song. I love this version and this band as a whole is really growing on me.
This is great! I've always loved the Phil Collins version, and I feel like they did a good job capturing the same emotion and feeling behind it.
I damn near crashed my car when this first began airing on the radio. AMAZING. This is a great cover. FYEA!
Nonpoint is great live & usually hang out after shows!!! Great guys!!!
Seeing them perform this live was amazing.
i was looking for this for ages!
showed up in a playlist
thanks alot, love that song
I like the the original better, but this cover is pretty good in my opinion. Nonpoint were smart enough to stick closely to the spirit of the original while making the song their own, no easy task. Kudos to them.
Phil Collins is shit.
@@jessejohnson9514 wtf are you saying?
still gives me the chills in 2017....these guys are awesome!!
I've been a nonpointer ever since I got into their music way back in 2006. Love their stuff and its awesome.
Its a bad ass remake of an epic song. To those that are whining...deal with it. These guys rock and have added DIMENSION to the song. Its good and an honorable remake of Collins' classic!
how sweet it is
Still listening in 2016.
me too

Willie Orwontee now in 2017
This is one of the best covers i ever heard of "In the Air Tonight" i wish they redo again for 2021
One of the best covers of any song and done by such a sick band!!!
I'm surprised how well this turned out. This is like if Killswitch Engage covered Dio- Wait...

This comment is beautiful
+Shinbu1128 It's like (and I'm showing my age here) Van Halen cover the Kin....
+Shinbu1128 I can't tell if you like those covers or not... I must be weird if not, because I love all of them
seether/ george michael: careless whisper?
+Shinbu1128 Nonpoint could cover ANYTHING and it would sound amazing!
It's rare that a remake is as good or better than the original this is one of those rare occasions. Love This Version!
I love this song when Phil did it. Nonpoint brings it to a new level!!!
I'm a fan of cover songs and this one is top flight. Nonpoint is one the best bands I've heard in a long time. Raw, gritty, and straight up bad ass music is what they bring on every album.
i loved it. I grew up with the original so I already knew the lyrics. a lot of rock remixes are better than the easy listening originals.
really nice cover
Saw them live a few months ago. GREAT musicians and GREAT people!
いつ聞いても最高ですねぇ…
The original is perfect I don't know why peoples even try to cover that song. They always going to fall short.
Maybe they aren't trying to outdo a song that already exists.. but they are trying to do a tribute to the song? Most bands don't do covers to improve the song, but they are acknowledging that this song inspired them and putting their own spin on it?
Nonpoint's version of in the air tonight is good,so as phil collins verison as well, both songs r good.
Great tune. From a kid from the eighty's and south Florida you nailed it. Phil Collins should be proud. All the negative comments lack relevance.
Watched these guys in A-town WI, a few years back and they were great!!
Who listening in 2019
How about 2020?
I like this better than the original
NO WAY!!! Sure, this is pretty rockin´, but Alyssa ... Phil Collins is Phil Collins!
Yes, for me 2
Awesome Remake. I can't believe I haven't heard it before now. Excellent jam. Thank you. Going in my favorites now.DS
only recent discovered there guys, love there music, blair this song and there from my home state FL.

This band did not do the cover of phil collins dong for dead space 3. The voice isn't correct.
I hope someone covers Phil's dong.
twiztidfoo What happens to another man's dong, his business.
I my god! I literally laughed out loud, which is quite a feat for a RUclips comment :-D
This always happens. Big hands small phone = disaster!
It's a remake do you not here it!
The best cover of this song by far! Has to be one of the top 5 covers of all time!!!
This is the first time that I've heard this song remake by Nonpoint, and it KICKS ASS! I like this cover quite a bit. It's odd compared to their other stuff.
It's a good remake.......... but I miss the buildup to the drums in the original
90's in my eyes killed it. Grunge. Nu metal. Just rock n roll in general at the peak.
best version ever. so much power
This song feel like to Phil Collins, no?
No, but it's good nonetheless.
I concur. I'm glad they tried.

NONPOINT IS AMAZING! THEY DID A GREAT JOB FOR THIS COVER!
Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!
I heard this song at pirates reloaded in magaluf haha. Stuck in my head till now. Amazing
fantastic cover
I can feel it coming in the air tonight
Oh, Lord
And I've been waiting for this moment for all my life
Oh, Lord
Oh, Lord
Well, when you told me you were drowning
I would not lend a hand
I've seen your face before, my friend
But I don't know if you know who I am
Well, I was there and I saw what you did
I saw it with my own two eyes
So you can wipe off that grin
I know where you've been
It's all been a pack of lies
I can feel it coming in the air tonight
Oh, Lord
And I've been waiting for this moment for all my life
Oh, Lord
Oh, Lord
Well, I remember
I remember, don't worry
How could I ever forget, it's the first time
The last time we ever met (Met, met, met)
But I know the reason why you keep me silenced up
No, you don't see me
'Cause the hurt doesn't show
Pain still grows
No stranger to you and me
I can feel it coming in the air tonight
Oh, Lord
And I've been waiting for this moment for all my life
Oh, Lord
I can feel it in the air tonight, oh Lord
Oh, Lord
And I've been waiting for this moment for all my life
Oh Lord, oh Lord
I can feel it coming in the air tonight
Oh, Lord
And I've been waiting for this moment for all my life
Oh, Lord
Oh, Lord
I have been searching forever!
God, this song makes me want my father back so fucking much! It seems to me that he is right beside me everytime I hear it. One of his favorites.
Lovin it!
the BEST remake ever!!!!!!
