The way I see it is...if the airplane is in excellent flying condition, then use it! Not for top military and pax usage. But if let's say an Air Force has chosen any older plane for a duty in which they feel that that particular older plane will perform well..then by all means use it!! It gives the plane a new lease on life, and it saves millions of $$$$ not having to have new planes built.
@@patrickmollohan3082 but there is something called (the design life), if it ended then the plane is forbidden to land at most of the airports, and many countries won't allow it to fly over there airspace. And extending/updating the design life costs lots of $$€€!!!
The DC-8 looks so right! And with the high bypass engines it looks even better. The A340 looks very good in the same vein as the DC-8. BTW my first transatlantic flight was an AC DC-8 stretch from LHR-SNN-YUL
In 1971, I believe I flew in DC-8 stretch from McChord AFB, WA to Kimpo AFB, South Korea. We had stop-overs at Anchorage, AK and Yokota AFB, Japan. In 1972, I returned to the US on Seaboard World Airlines and my guess it was a Boeing 707.
I fell in love with the DC8 72CF. An 128 with vibrant colors and blue helices is a charm! And the magnificent MD11 that owns my heart! This is not just a video, it should be kept as a unique record of the history of the wonderful and incredible planes that made aviation history!
My father worked on many DC-8's, including several occasions BOTH the Samaritan's Purse and the NASA DC-8, as a mechanic for almost 20 years, so even though he loves the 747 his favorite aircraft has always been the DC-8. I doubt there's many people left in the world outside of former Douglas engineers and designers that know the ins and outs of those aircraft like my dad does, he obviously loves all things aviation but he could talk about almost any conceivable component or system or quirk of the DC-8 for hours if you get him started. It's a very special plane to him and therefore it's a very special plane to me, so it puts a big smile on my face to still see a couple of those aircraft in continued service.
Isn't it amazing that WE, airplanes nuts, get along with each other no matter where we are from? Watching a video like this is therapy. We all, including myself, never thought 1 second about Omicron while we were glued to the screen. What a clear crisp production . It made my day, and thanks to all those involved. A KLM DC-8 brought me to Canada, when engines still smoked. Greetings from YVR
Spectacular shots of gorgeous planes. Especially striking was the Antonov landing with its little blades turning while the huge wind turbines blades were in the background!
In my opinion this is the most advance plane spotting channel on the platform. A shot from the runway end during flare is extremely enjoyable, I think every spotter should do more of that...close up shot is great and takes a great amount of skills, however a steady fixed camera shot during approach and landing is also exciting to see, we can observe the movement and attitude from every aircraft towards the runway, instead of just emphasizing the shot on every aircraft from up close, which makes the aircraft looks floating motionless.
That’s one of the most interesting aviation videos I’ve seen. Because of the tracking effect, I thought it was a FSX video when I watched that first Kalitta arrival. Didn’t look real. Beautiful cinematography!.
Poor plane has a mask on but amazing work as always and lovely sound. These videos help me sleep and in no way is that a negative. The sounds are very smooth and make me pass out. Thank you.
Incredible footage as ever and a superb show-reel for the year. Sad to end on two heavy Lufthansa retirements though. It'll be sad when all of the three-holers are gone completely. Looking forward to your 2022 work! Best wishes for the season!
This compilation Airplane video was truly a joy to watch!! You always show the steadiest content where one doesnt get seasick watching planes rock.,lol!! Happy 2022 everyone!!🛩🛩✈✈✈✈
Wow! What a video! Really loved the livery on that An12! Unsubscribing from your channel would be a big mistake! Loved the DC-8 as well, the roar of its engines is amazing! Thanks for what you're giving to us, it's a huge gift and it means a lot! Greetings from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦🖐️
I had one of those USAF EC-3 planes, based on DC-8, fly overhead a few months ago when I was waiting to pick up my son from school. We live near a base. You could tell just from the sound it wasn't a regular jetliner. I had to look it up to see what it was.
Public comments. Nice 👍 and amazing landing. Great 👍 jobs by intelligent pilots who understands the principal and function of landing and control the aircraft effectively. My respect and care about every pilots amazing job . Thanks you so much for sharing your wonderful video. I really appreciate and enjoyed watching your wonderful video.
The Israeli 707 did a nice bounce! IL96 went Nope. NOPE! But gave us a Flyby into the sunset instead. SUCH a nice plane! Drive By Hercules is cool - not many Exist. Also that Modified 747 - the Biggest criminals have the nicest Rides :P
Amazing video as usual. How do you achieve such smooth panning? Is it a tripod setup, or a camera feature like "smooth panning". Sorry if this is a silly question, it's just very impressive at that zoom!

It makes me happy to see the DC-8 still flying
Yeah
Me too!
Yeah same

@ 1:50 that beautiful retrofitted 1969 DC 8 and that silky smooth take off is all art.
Stunning compilation my friend, really nice highlights! Hope a great Christmas for everyone in your family!

mine in a DC-8-50
27:09 he did a wing wave. That’s really cool
Thank you very much! Sadly it was maybe the last flight of this A380.

There is something beautiful about dc-8s with retrofitted engines 🥰 Such a pure and clean design..
I disagree. Personally I think the proportions look better with the original lower bypass engines
Cheers

Love how the E4B pilots just bounced it on.
One of the ugliest planes ever!
Nice compilation! That DC-8 is so pretty as well with that livery! 😁👍👍🤩
10:05 was my favourite… watching that IL96 coming in, footage slightly sped-up, incredible!
Never in a million years did I think I would see an airplane wearing a face mask.
Yes it's blue
What a year its been for you man!! So much epic stuff, the DC8 was my favorite, but also loved the AF1, Russian stuff, E4B etc.. Great work!!

the Luft A380 waving bye at the end. i almost cried. beautiful moment
The DC8 made it for me,, I met the guys down in Dubai at Al Maktoum (DWC) it truly is a beautiful sight to see,,
The first footage of the 747 was so perfect and synchronized! I thought it was Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020
I'm literally adult rn but still like to watch airplanes flying 😂
Spectacular shots of gorgeous planes. Especially striking was the Antonov landing with its little blades turning while the huge wind turbines blades were in the background!
I commented this on another video but the images are crystal clear! Watched this on my 70inch tv and my goodness
DC-8-72 This is a model only seen in games. It's amazing to see this model in real life.
Your work is mesmerising , I can't skip a single second , I have never seen such clear photography .Thank you for sharing ! Wales UK.
The Antonov is a beautiful airplane - looks incredible 👍
The DC8 with the CFMs would make a nice business jet... 707 with CFMs too
Saw the Cavok AN-12 at SEA last year, quite a sight to behold
In my opinion this is the most advance plane spotting channel on the platform.

Beautiful....can watch all day!
Have been on board the Samaritan's Purse dc8 (not flown tho). Beautiful plane. Has retrofitted glass cockpit, and retrofitted cfm56 engines
Never ever in my life would I see something like a DC8 flying once more
The front of the A380 reminds me of "Woodstock", "Snoopy's" feathered friend. 😅🤣😆👍
9:29 I can literally feel the impact in my own legs when watching that landing....
DC 8 what a beautiful look❤
Wow! Your video's are just simply amazing, very nicely done🔥👏🏼👏🏼

Wow I haven't seen a DC-8 in 20 years.
Das traurigste Ereignis kam zuletzt, die gute alte MD11 in den Farben der LH noch einmal zu sehen :( Ich vermisse den Anblick sehr...
Ja, das stimmt. Leider.
