- VW Polo 9N power steering fault with yellow power steering light on. This VW polo had no power steering and was very heavy displaying a yellow steering wheel light on the instument cluster.

great video my son has a polo 9N 2002 and without guys like you we would be changing so many things as a fault and found a fuse cracked could do a repair
Hello got same issue on same car. Local garage is stumped. Can you please assist?
When i had the light, it was the sensor at the bottom of the steering column which was shorting out against water which was seeping in through a seal in the rack. Had to replace the rack as its not serviceable.

Cheers for the video. Got me out of trouble when F7 blew on me on the Autobahn. I wouldn't have known where to look. Haynes Manual was useless
Hi thank you I found two blown fuses I changed but do you have any idea why they would blow? (50A under bonnet and 15 in the fuse box for the controller)
Bad pump module on the small fuse.
Bad pump if it blows mega (or a wire short)
My one all the dues are good but the fuse u changed was 7.5 instead of 5, is there a good chance cuz of that the power stealing pump blew ?
The fuse was 7.5 or 5 amp depending on model type and age.
Can the seatbelts be problem
Hello mate I have seat bocanegra 1.4 same issue with power steering and also abs lights are on too , checked the fuse all good that might be motor?
Have you checked the blade fuse? These are mostly on top of the battery or in the cover of it. Loosen the nuts there to see if they break apart. If they break apart, they were already broken and if not they are good and the problem is with something else.
I've a 2017 2k scanner ( very similar Snap-on ); with no comms steering assist, fuses good ( I'm a car trader not a mechanic with a good scanner ); I've got a cheap pump £30. How do you code these after replacement , thanks !!!

Had a similar issue last year, however the crankcase breather box was clogged/faulty which was blowing the same fuse with power steering issue like yours all sorted now
How much did it cost to sort
@@gang-gang8325 I did it myself had to go with a genuine VW part as the patent parts didn’t quite fit. Was about £150 for the box
In my case, all the fuses are fine... New battery... It turns out that when I drive the vw polo 9n3 1.2 12v, the airbag, steering, abs light comes on, the 3 lights stay on, but if I turn off the engine they disappear, I can now drive normally, (strange) I managed to get an error code but, only when this happens, because if you do a scanner test there will be no errors, only when the light is on... error P0600 Serial Communication Link , does anyone have information? thanks
My friend has the same problem, but the warning is not always active, I turn off the car and the error disappears, but after a while it comes back on... I don't even want to imagine that the bomb is burned... I'll see if it's the same wire as yours... a hug🤗
Iv got no warning lights but my steering has become very heavy , Iv check fuses but as I got no warning light im kinda scratching my head

Hi mate I have a 2007 polo I changed the power steering pump but my mechanic said it needs to be calibrated or something to the car using a VAG computer I currently get error code 01309
As in the video - fault code 01309 is no communication from the power steering module, usually because of the blown 7.5A fuse #7 in the side of the dash

I have an issue on my 08 9N, steering is really stiff at the min, my steering has locked twice when trying to pull out of my parking space at home. Also my handbrake and ABS light come on and been now and again.. lights flicker, dash lights flicker sometimes. Anybody know a possible fix and cost ££, Thanks

I just charged my battery up and the fault light was gone. New battery would also resolve this issue.
