Accidentally broke sensor while replacing ignition switch. New sensor needed initialized. This worked like a charm! Thanks !!

Thanks for the video. My A5 GTI has a faulty wheel speed sensor in addition to the exact problem you show in this video. Will this procedure work with the faulty sensor or must I replace it first?
Congratulations on your channel. I have seen all your videos! I have a golf 5 and today I changed the steering wheel to multifunction and the steering head to highline. Everything works, the coding was done but the only problem is that the steering wheel light doesn't turn off with anything and the steering wheel is heavy because the electric assistance doesn't work.
I did a basic setting and it takes values on the indicator changes in the corresponding field in the vcds but with nothing it doesn't turn off and it gives the error:
02546 - steering limit stop
005 - no or incorrect basic setting / adaptation
And when the adjustment is complete, this error goes away and while the steering wheel light with orange color on the dial continues to stay on
, then throws the error:
02546 - steering limit stop
003 - mechanical failure. I went to a local garage and while doing the basic adjustment the light won't go off and the steering is still heavy. He told me that there must be a problem in the steering rack. Is it possible? can you tell me your opinion?

you should probably try to return the module under the steering wheel and make basic settings. so you will find out if the rack is broken or not. maybe he can't connect the new module under the steering wheel with the old steering rack
In my case security access code was 31857, procedure worked fine at first try.
40168 was also accepted though, but turning wheel all the way left & right like 20 times didn’t do anything. At least I got big muscle now 😅

Hi SHtatkus, wow thank goodness I started reading comments, got my 2006 mk2 Octavia back from the garage today after fixing the ignition barrel and surprise surprise yellow steering light on, spent well over a hour & half with laptop with long power extension as battery on laptop in knackered, trying 40168 which worked and logged me in but no joy no matter what I tried with left & right turns, quick drives etc and nothing worked. No data when turning the wheel. First thing tomorrow I’ll try you code and pray it works. Can I just ask how you came up with your code, is there more incase this code doesn’t work. Cheers

Well, my power steering stopped working after a crash where the steering wheel airbag went out, I am wondering if I am getting this fault because the battery was unplugged for a looong time (also the fuse for power steering pump was “tore in half”, so I hope it did not short out or the airbag explosion did not damage some electronics in the steering wheel…
Red steering signal means have to change all the sensor set means steering angle sensor or any one of them
i have 00778 g85 code but the steering wheel lamp is not lit, mine shows esp light next to abs, i recently fitted new lower arms both sides and the steering wheel is maybe 5degrees to the right of centre. will tracking the car resetting the steering wheel to centre clear the code?

hello i wanted to ask you i have a problem with the power steering when i bought it I had a yellow steering wheel light and the same yellow slip but the servo worked normally it was put on diagnostics and i got the code 00778 i tried to change that little sensor underneath steering wheel and tried to drive it a little and nothing, so I changed that big sensor that is in the steering wheel and after that the steering wheel became heavier and the steering wheel sometimes turned into a curve and the lamps still shine I don't know what to do
You have to be careful, i did the same but i used a clockspring (the big thing) for golf 5 with esp, and mine is without esp. That caused the problem and i still havent found a solution, i think im gonna dump the car in a river or down a cliff and burn it or something😂

So you just have to keep trying the basic setting with or without coding password 40168 - AMAZING!! LOL

i have abs module mk70.steering angle sensor i must set on steering asist module. for other ABS control modul need set angle sensor on ABS control module (but verysimilar procedure)

yes abs module MK60 G85 settings but i have ABS module MK70 i must setting G85 on 44 steering assist module

Had the same problem with my caddy after retrofitting cruise control i followed your video but when I went on basic settings i turned it on and solved the power steering problem but for some reason the horn is not working any idea where would be the problem because when I put the old control module it works but when I change it to the new one it stops working . Any advice why? Thank You

When I got to basic settings channel 60 and turn the wheel the value doesn't change, it just reads "0.00" Does this mean the steering angle sensor needs to be replaced?

best regards I have a passat 3c 2006 and I have that dtc sensor g85 I have given the settings and nothing changes the g85 sensor and nothing follows the dtc at times turns off the brown guide but returns dtc what can I do. when I start the car it turns red, it turns yellow and then the fixed code remains

Hi i have this light on after changing steering wheel module i got one from ebay when i try to go to basic settings it says error and m block 60 isn't available plus where do i get the coding from my old module to put in the replacement it doesn't give any long coding when i go into this module

Hello mate. I changed the sensor, but I can't seem to remove this error. It looks the same as yours. The customer bought the sensor on AutoDoc, so Im not sure if its original or can read it. So I have to questions: 1. Does it affect it if its original or not? 2. How do I know if the sensor is working at all?

I have had a G85 defective code that I am trying to clear and a failure to calibrate. I also have an ESP light on that will not change. I got a new wheel sensor and replaced it and have followed the procedure here. No joy though in clearing the code. I have a valid copy of VCDS and cannot seem to get it done. Suggestions?

@@kevin.afton_ Nope, it is the old VW cascade of problems now. I believe I have a short somewhere in the wiring. Either I did it or the something went wrong. I still get the defective warning on my scans and cannot reset it. Now, something is draining my battery. Going to have to trace wires. Suggestions if you have some?
@@jimmccanna For the battery draining you can look up some "how to check parasitic drain on car battery" videos.
For the G85 I will see somebody with more knowledge than me Tuesday, I will let you know if he managed to fix mine.

Toto robí po odpojení baterky, vôbec netreba diagnostiku, len vytočiť plný rejd do oboch strán a ísť sa previesť a zmizne samo, už som to robil na viac autách. Ono si to musí overiť nie len natočenie volantu, ale aj dáta z jednotlivých snímačov ABS, potom chyba zmizne sama.

Still on , i did a bypass, so it is probably sending the same message, bulb out etc, just hope the light burns out lol .

v podstate nechápem prečo to nejde hned na prvý pokus. a rovnako nechápem dôvod prečo sa to zrazu podarí. čital som že ak vymeníš modul steering assist tak to nepojde nastavit vôbec (vtedy jedine do autorizovaneho servisu)
