Honestly, calm down the plot and remove all the fan service and you’ll get a pretty solid magical girl anime. I have a lot of hope for 6HP and I hope it’s saved from development hell eventually.

I miss the gold era of magical girls anime without the gore, fan service stuff, creepy background character and actually targeting children as their target market not some creepy dudes that into loli.
As someone who likes both “normal” and “edgy” magical girl anime, I just wish there were more “”darker”” toned ones that didn’t seem to be either 1) waaaaay too creepy in the unneeded fan service department (cough cough, Magical Girl Site and Magical Girl Apocalypse) Or 2) trying their damn hardest to be more edgy then the others (again….MGS and MGA being one of the first that come to mind) I really wanna like 6HP, since it comes off as if it isn’t trying to be overtly edgy and still keeps that childish charm but every single piece of fanservice they try to implement with their ELEMENTARY SCHOOL characters makes it so hard for me to genuinely love it-
I wonder if this mentality is why I've seen some pushback against Madoka Magica recently tbh. As I think it must have been one of the first modern dark magical girl shows. Really wish more franchises would understand that the reason why Madoka works was the angle of putting so much responsibility on the shoulders of little girls. This anime almost DEFINITELY takes place during the mid-2000's (so, 2006 or 2007) the technology, the clothing, the music etc, Remove all of the weird stuff with the girls and maybe make a heavier plot and you go urselfs a modern-day mahou shoujou anime ☺.
As a mega-fan of the original Hatsune Miku PV, I was excited when they announced that an anime was being made, and a bit sceptical because the PV was an advertisement, so maybe the anime would be a cashgrab full of makeup ads. You are not alone in your opinion of the wolf-men character designs. They are absolutely hilarious but disappointing that they distract from (mostly) all the other great designs. I'm glad they did well with all the Princesses' designs but seeing them next to the wolf-men is so jarring!

I've seen the transformation sequences for this show and, despite it being a bit risqué, they are good sequences! I've been curious about the show, but I didn't want to face the potential nudity, cause the sequences are uncomfortable for me as-is.
Funny thing about this was on the day of a Halloween party my high school threw I was home getting ready and got an ad for the makeup advertised and to this day I it was forever imprinted on me and now finding out there was more than just an eyeshadow palette is mind blowing.
The gross parts rly threw me off; the initial 6HP x Shu Uemura collab is one of my favourite magical girl videos ever - it’s just so adorable! I thought, they’ll probably tone down the extreme outfit for Tamaki now that she’s an actual character. But they just made it. Worse . Somehow . Christ

The sin beast in episode 7 is definitely based off Aztec mythology, the strange mask this was something wore by priests of tezcatlipoca, and the two snake heads are supposed to be the head of an Aztec goddess
They should just make this into a manga if they don't have a budget to finish it, remove the fanservice (I'm ok with fanservice but in all honesty it just feels out of place in an anime like this) and pitch it to a shojo magazine like Ciao, Ribon or Nakayoshi, I can see the potential since despite them serializing magical girls in the past the genre is basically gone on their magazines, it'd give them much needed variety, these days they don't have a lot going for other than school romance dramas and gag manga with cute mascots
it feels like they wanted to keep the cute youthful chibi style soooo bad without ditching the fan service aspects, instead of ageing them up (even just stylistically) to make it less weird rip

Really can't figure out what tone the show is going for, as in so many ways it seems like it's aiming to be a typical magical girl show aimed for the usual magical girl audience... only then have far more blatant fanservice than a Pretty Cure show has, depict the monstrous enemies, include the grungy post-apocalyptic backgrounds... but like, even those elements don't really feel like they play THAT big a part? They had furry boy rescue Dark Princess Girl from what looks like a human smuggling ring, and while this may be because you didn't explicitly show that, it seems like they don't really treat that with the seriousness it migh warrant? LIke, they just have it in the background? I dunnno, it feels like they don't go fully into the subjects like an Ikuhara-show would, but they still include too much grime to really be the "clean" magical girl show they sometimes make it out to be. And man, Murakami losing himself to the NFT craze... did not expect that, and I regret learning these things.
It's interesting to learn about this, I was only aware of Pink or Black ft Miku & a preview clip that made it seem like this started with Haruka getting stuck in some weird Lost(I dunno cause I've never seen Lost just know weird shit was going on with people stuck in a plane crash) thing were she's in a plane crash & some weird stretchy CGI girl with a face like the possessed people in the music video before getting sucked into a plane turbine or whatever it's called. I might not be remembering that right but I do remember her on the ground at a plane crash while some weird thing got sucked into the plane blades. I kinda find it funny Haruka's hair color constantly changes shade ignoring lighting, one moment it's pastel & the next it's a very light pastel pink & that's semi ignoring adding in that her magic form's hair is a light/pale pastel pink cause her hair tone/lighting outside the princess form at points keeps changing. I was unaware she lived in some town that implies some post apocalyptic elements from the damage & an abandoned building. Also wasn't expecting everyone to be aware of the monsters/sinbeats & the princesses off the bat cause it feels like some shows make people unaware of anything let alone the monsters & girls are around or start to be aware at some point. Kinda makes me think of Twin Princess of the Mystery Planet/Star cause no one bats an eye at the twins of the main kingdom suddenly having magic powers to help with the issue of the episode though with this one no one is aware of their identities.(I dunno where I'm going) I agree with iluv_nana this is a nice show just needs the fanservice removed. I hope it gets some help since there's complications & that NFT shit obviously wasn't helping

Everything else is pretty good and it has great potential but I just absolutely hate how I’m constantly fearing something weird is about happen and how it does almost every damn time. i used to be a big fan of murakami beore he got weird about nfts, i loved his surrealist works and the way he combines super cutsey cute stuff with the scary and disturbing to create and unsettling atmosphere. he's also known for making pieces featuring super cutsey anime characters in graphically sexual, deliberately disgusting situations as a commentary on the uncomfortable over reliance on sexual imagery in the anime industry, which i THINK is what he's trying to here, but it doesn't really work in a long form anime

theres another takashi show called kids see ghosts that was canned bcs the duo (kid cudi n kanye west) that the show was based of had a bad relaationship w/ each and broke off

The sin beast in episode 7 is definitely based off Aztec mythology, the strange mask this was something wore by priests of tezcatlipoca, and the two snake heads are supposed to be the head of an Aztec goddess
They should just make this into a manga if they don't have a budget to finish it, remove the fanservice (I'm ok with fanservice but in all honesty it just feels out of place in an anime like this) and pitch it to a shojo magazine like Ciao, Ribon or Nakayoshi, I can see the potential since despite them serializing magical girls in the past the genre is basically gone on their magazines, it'd give them much needed variety, these days they don't have a lot going for other than school romance dramas and gag manga with cute mascots
honestly the fanservice would've been less bad if they didn't look very obviously like middle schoolers 😭

Maybe they should have made it so anytime the flower chest thingy appears that area is visible different like a cosmic or a pink flower pattern that becomes bigger and bigger every time the protag transforms which kinda would make sense with the kinda parasitic look with the flowers ok their chests

Really can't figure out what tone the show is going for, as in so many ways it seems like it's aiming to be a typical magical girl show aimed for the usual magical girl audience... only then have far more blatant fanservice than a Pretty Cure show has, depict the monstrous enemies, include the grungy post-apocalyptic backgrounds... but like, even those elements don't really feel like they play THAT big a part? They had furry boy rescue Dark Princess Girl from what looks like a human smuggling ring, and while this may be because you didn't explicitly show that, it seems like they don't really treat that with the seriousness it migh warrant? LIke, they just have it in the background? I dunnno, it feels like they don't go fully into the subjects like an Ikuhara-show would, but they still include too much grime to really be the "clean" magical girl show they sometimes make it out to be.
And man, Murakami losing himself to the NFT craze... did not expect that, and I regret learning these things.
I am now obsessed with this, this anime fits my aesthetic almost perfectly! But it’s never going to get more episodes seemingly so… sad

It's interesting to learn about this, I was only aware of Pink or Black ft Miku & a preview clip that made it seem like this started with Haruka getting stuck in some weird Lost(I dunno cause I've never seen Lost just know weird shit was going on with people stuck in a plane crash) thing were she's in a plane crash & some weird stretchy CGI girl with a face like the possessed people in the music video before getting sucked into a plane turbine or whatever it's called. I might not be remembering that right but I do remember her on the ground at a plane crash while some weird thing got sucked into the plane blades. I kinda find it funny Haruka's hair color constantly changes shade ignoring lighting, one moment it's pastel & the next it's a very light pastel pink & that's semi ignoring adding in that her magic form's hair is a light/pale pastel pink cause her hair tone/lighting outside the princess form at points keeps changing.
I was unaware she lived in some town that implies some post apocalyptic elements from the damage & an abandoned building. Also wasn't expecting everyone to be aware of the monsters/sinbeats & the princesses off the bat cause it feels like some shows make people unaware of anything let alone the monsters & girls are around or start to be aware at some point. Kinda makes me think of Twin Princess of the Mystery Planet/Star cause no one bats an eye at the twins of the main kingdom suddenly having magic powers to help with the issue of the episode though with this one no one is aware of their identities.(I dunno where I'm going)
I agree with iluv_nana this is a nice show just needs the fanservice removed. I hope it gets some help since there's complications & that NFT shit obviously wasn't helping

Everything else is pretty good and it has great potential but I just absolutely hate how I’m constantly fearing something weird is about happen and how it does almost every damn time. I just can’t even enjoy the rest of the show, that shit just ruins everything for me.

XD Seriously, I was so confused at how similar they seemed in some ways, I was just like, it's New Age Chiyo or something, LOL. ^^;).

i used to be a big fan of murakami beore he got weird about nfts, i loved his surrealist works and the way he combines super cutsey cute stuff with the scary and disturbing to create and unsettling atmosphere.
he's also known for making pieces featuring super cutsey anime characters in graphically sexual, deliberately disgusting situations as a commentary on the uncomfortable over reliance on sexual imagery in the anime industry, which i THINK is what he's trying to here, but it doesn't really work in a long form anime

Actually it’s NOT! The story maybe is kinda similar to Pretty Cure and the designs of the characters are similar to characters in Madoka Magica (Pink Princess reminds me of Madoka and Black Princess reminds me of Homura) but there’s also something special about this magical girl anime.
I’m actually really sad about that it got STUCK IN PRODUCTION HELL and they didn’t even made more episodes of it.. I really love this story,characters etc and I want to see more of this anime episodes (MAYBE) in the future? … Hmm .. And maybe it will get something more than just seven episodes and a makeup commercial (CM)
