I absolutely love how Ying still, obviously enjoys seeing your happiness when you eat something that makes you happy. It’s rare that we get to see her reactions and I have to be honest, seeing her joy from witnessing your joy...that brings me joy. ✌🏻🥰😊
Went here today and the waitress was so happy when I showed her this video lol “awwwwww my shop my shop” big smiles. Really great place for affordable sushi in the fish market. Thanks for the video!!
I guess I'm one of those people who will never understand how people can enjoy eating something raw. But I enjoy watching videos of folks who genuinely love it. Nice episode.
Hi Mark. Thanks for another yummy food video. 👍🏻 But please don't use the hot towel to wipe your face. In Japan, it is used for the hands only. Saw this online: "Japanese restaurants often provide a small hot towel called an oshibori. This is to wipe your hands but not your face. You may see some Japanese wiping their faces with their oshibori, but sometimes this is considered bad form. When you are finished with your oshibori, do not just toss it back onto the table: fold or roll it up."
An all-you-can-eat sushi bars here in Ecuador cost 20$ per person. Not so much difference from these prices. But I'm almost sure they're not the same quality than the sushi in Japan.
I have probably watched this video fifty times or more......It is the one that got me to try salmon sashimi and forget about my boring california roll......lol Before this video I couldnt eat raw fish. After seeing how much they enjoyed it.... I knew that I wanted that experience. Im not a tuna fan, but Im crazy for salmon..... I could eat it every day..... and shrimp and scallops.... Thank you Mark Wiens for making those wonderful satisfied faces that you make when you are eating the most awesomeness of any food..... If it wernt for you I would have never been able to or wanted to try sushi or sashimi.......
Hey Mark..just some tips/advice ...don't wipe your face with the hot towel next time you're in Japan or Japan restaurant. It's for hands only - it's not a bathroom hehe ;) ...only gaijins do that. But a few natives do it too tho honestly (the ones that don't give AF tho). Just sharing some Japanese etiquette ;)
The conveyer belt sushi is lots of fun. We've tried it once when we were in Hawaii. I wish they would have this all over the U.S. I hope they will expand.
Depends on what type of food you are looking for but here are some I would recommend. Enjoy your visit to Texas and as we say down here, Howdy! Kula conveyor sushi - 2540 Old Denton Rd #140, Carrollton, TX 75006 Tokyo One- Roomy, casual eatery offers all-you-can-eat buffet of sushi, teppanyaki, tempura, ramen & desserts. 4350 Belt Line Rd, Addison, TX 75001 Hanabi - raditional ramen soups & Japanese small plates in a cozy, wood interior. 2540 Old Denton Rd #120, Carrollton, TX 75006 For more of a Texas style food experience I would suggest these. Pecan Lodge - For some good barbecue 2702 Main St, Dallas, TX 75226 Famous Dallas burger Keller's - 6537 Northwest Hwy, Dallas, TX 75231 Lastly for some good Tex-Mex Ojeda's - 4617 Maple Ave, Dallas, TX 75219
I want to see the video again when you were at a private sitting with a Sushi chef that was serving you and you were so in love with eating it you nearly jumped out of your seat. I loved that video. Hope to see it again.
Definitely agree on conveyor belt sushi not being cheap. I ate between 15 to 20 plates every time when I was back in Japan and the total cost was around 30 to 40 bucks.
Mark Wiens, the type of guy to use chopsticks with his left hand for the first time, risking dropping the nigiri onto his lap, so he can get the perfect shot of him eating the nigiri. Mark, I appreciate the risks you take for us, the viewers. #livingvicariouslythroughmark #worththerisk #riskitall #doitfortheyoutube
I Love it when I see your sweet Ying in the video, too, smiling and happy because she see’s how much you are enjoying the foods. Tell her howdy from the Deep East Texas, Piney Woods Region. I watch every video of yours I can, even though I’m am Nutritarian. I use your videos to help Me change the recipes up for my style of eating. They might not be exactly the same taste, but the challenge of converting recipes is Soooo exciting and well worth the effort. Thank you and Ying Both, so much, for sharing your life with the rest of us. Kudos, man. I hope to meet you both, a d Lil Micah, some day. God Bless.
Edmond Buenviaje Just guessing but the plates could have RFID chips embedded that identify with plate it is and the price. The scanner then reads each chip and adds up the total.
Tiffany H. You're right they have a chip (but forgot what kind of) so they scan them, I saw a documentary about a big kaiten sushi chain-restaurant where you don't see the chefs only the plates moving around, and the sushi plates also get sorted out automatically from a machine when they are too old (too long on the converybelt) by passing by the machine, so they even can scan how long ago they got prepared. Awesome! :D
ying should be in the videos more! She seems like a very nice person. BTW, mark, when ur eating sushi, the conventional way is to take the fish off of the rice ball and the dip the fish, but it back onto the rice, and then eat it.
Here in the US, or Washington state, we have Sushi Land, and it's okay, its where people go for quick and cheap sushi. Definitely no where compared to where Mark went.
New beginners should start without wasabi, then you build up from there, so that you don't get wrong idea of the sushi in case you'd find wasabi abhorring.
But wasabi is the least of first timer's problem. It's the smell of fish that usually keep them from trying. Wasabi is the main thing that will get rid of those fishy smell and taste.
That was awesome! I don't really like sushis but it was so fun watching!! Thank u Mark for sharing so much with us! Peace & love forever!! Ciao everybody!!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘😃😃😃😃😃😃😃
Great T-shirt - it is 100% me !!! Whenever I travel to a new place in Japan, the first thing I research is "what kind of specialities do they have, "secret restaurants", etc ^^ Oh and..... great video as usual. Thomas
If you go by Shinjuku, drop by "Sushi Himawari" in west shinjuku. It's cheap kaiten sushi, BUT they make THE most amazing Shimesaba in Tokyo. PS> You got soy on the pants >>> Dishwasher soap removes it! LOL
Your kid is going to be so lucky. He will have seen more places by age 5 then most of us will our entire lifetime. You are living the dream, Mark.
a priceless gift!
True about the kid, but he’s too young to know or enjoy anything, so his experience is pretty much not noteworthy.
And now five years later he totally has and will keep going strong for a long time to come
I absolutely love how Ying still, obviously enjoys seeing your happiness when you eat something that makes you happy. It’s rare that we get to see her reactions and I have to be honest, seeing her joy from witnessing your joy...that brings me joy. ✌🏻🥰😊
This man is the perfect balance between “crackhead” and “wholesome” on the alignment chart
Hahaha lol i was gonna say.. he's an animal and overly animated 🤣🤦🏾♂️
He perfectly balances the fine line between food junkie and family-friendly.
After that much matcha, maybe 😂
Now I bet there's so many of us who now want to go out for sushi tonight 😊😍 great video as always Mark
Full-on, unedited Mark Wiens, what's there not to like?! Another awesome vlog, Mark!
join vlogwiki Mark is your go-to guy
Thanks so much for watching!
We should thank you for making these videos!
Went here today and the waitress was so happy when I showed her this video lol “awwwwww my shop my shop” big smiles. Really great place for affordable sushi in the fish market. Thanks for the video!!
I like how this man is always smiling 😃 even while he's talking.
I SO want to try sushi in Japan! So different than in the US. Love the uncut format of these vlogs!

I was down all day until I watched this vlog. Love your work Mark.
What's so funny about tapping the tuna belly in each other's chopsticks in a toast?

I absolutely love every video you do Mark you care so upbeat & positive. But your wife Ying is the real MVP. She deserves so much respect
$25 per person, not bad, cheap for Japan, hell cheaper than here in the States for that kind of quality sushi.
it dosnt look quality
Even cheap sushi in japan is better than most countries quality sushi
The Idiot's Sin of Explosion but japan is an island. So like fish is their main import and export. That’s their main source of income
@@PIuto_Is_Not_A_Planet but it looks better than other sushi i saw at higher price
An all-you-can-eat sushi bars here in Ecuador cost 20$ per person. Not so much difference from these prices. But I'm almost sure they're not the same quality than the sushi in Japan.

That was an amazing counting machine of used plates right back there... Haha... :D how does it works?

Actually they identify the price by the plate's color and size

That
type of sushi restaurant is called a Sushi Train in Australia
Here in the US, or Washington state, we have Sushi Land, and it's okay, its where people go for quick and cheap sushi. Definitely no where compared to where Mark went.
The one in Cremorne Sydney is my favourite. Yum
Alicia Ellis yeh part Japan city towards neutral bay!!!! 👌
Just avoid white people sushi at sushi train.
I didn't think you would crush that second roll in one bite. Kudos.
I wanna try! I've never had sushi
Tommy Judge you'll be surprised if you don't eat raw fish haha they have funny textures...
I set myself up for that one 😂😂😂

New beginners should start without wasabi, then you build up from there, so that you don't get wrong idea of the sushi in case you'd find wasabi abhorring.
