Just like the miss-naming of a magazine as a "clip," I'm under the impression that the twist rate correlated more to bullet length rather than bullet weight. Of course, in most cases a longer bullet weighs more, but bottom line, shoot your barrel and see what it likes.
I had no idea that there was a such a thing as a threaded forward assist, that screws together... Until it backed out and came flying off of my bca upper this morning! Thanks guys! Smh.
I stopped worrying about twist years ago when I bought a couple of your fast twist 243 uppers. I didn’t buy one for years because in my opinion from reading on too many forums, the faster twist won’t lighter projectiles. Both my uppers will shoot way under half MOA with hand loads in both 55 and 60 green offerings push super fast. IMO if you handload, you can just about make any bullet work, no matter how light or heavy, and how fast or slow your twist is. If you’re stuck to buying factory ammunition, that’s a whole different game. You find out real quickly, and form an opinion, on one mass produced poorly loaded ammunition.
I have your 20" 556 upper with a heavy barrel 1:7 twist. The most accurate rounds I have put through it are 40gr ballistic tip Fiocchi. And anything heavier than 55gr is not accurate through that upper. No complaints here, just an observation
Test it. Most have the 1:7 twist, but my 10.5" has shot everything from 55 grain up to 77 grain ammo just fine and stay within 2 moa. Just keep in mind the velocity loss so the range for effectiveness is limited, this is where the heavier otm loads tend to do better.
I run a 16" inch 5.56 1-8 twist carbine gas system, but I need to switch to a 16" 223 Wylde 1-8 twist with a mid length adjustable gas system with a left side charge RT eject. and I would like that to be a BCA, do you all have one ready for me?
Doesn't the 1:16 fall short for the sub sonic rounds though? I'm seeing guys with custom barrels using the 1:10 for the 350 subsonic loads and it appears to be very accurate.
Since 55 gr and 62 gr are cheaper, by far, and in a much more abundant supply than heavier projectiles, why not sell most of your barrels and uppers to reflect this fact? Your customers are not buying large amounts of heavier bullets. Please make the switch.
Lamar is SPOT ON, my 1:8 16in will cut holes pretty much at any distance with gr/tip. 👍👍
Found you guys from a marine vet. Much respect to your company. Plan on doing my first build using your parts.

Best video on the subject, thank you 👏🏻

short and to the point, thank you!
Informative. Though my 1:7 barrel twist was accurate even with 55 grains, it was dead-center target hitting with the heavier grains.

Simple, short and right to the point, great video
Glad you liked it!

What kind of groups do you get?
With 40gr vmax I can put 3 rounds inside a quarter at 100 yards. 5 shot group is probably 1 - 1.5 moa. Assuming the weather is nice
I run 55gr. - 69gr. in my 1-9” without any issues. 69gr. Sierra open tip hp matchgrade projectiles group at < .7” @ 100m, damm near a cloverleaf.
I need to try 69 sierras in my 1/9 Smith&wesson
Have an 11.5" with 1:7 twist. I've been told 62gr and heavier is ideal, wasn't sure if that meant for shorter barrels like mine or not.
I’d like to know what’s the best barrel length for 9mm? Everyone says 20” is best for .223/5.56… what’s best for 9mm
PLEASE MAKE A 1:12 TWIST
I like the old a1 barrel twist rate
Wow thanks that was awesome 1:8 twist it is
1:10 ar 10 on spot with heavy rounds, light rounds are 6 inches to the right.
Great info thanks
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼
idk.. but i really like the light weight of the m4 barrel.
What about 10.5" barrel at 5.56? what grain and twist?

Yes we do
You guys should offer your .350 Legend in a 1 in 10 so we can sling some heavy subsonic stuff 😁
Good to know. 👍👌
Think 62 grain is happy medium with a 1/9 twist?
69 grain for 1/9 twist
Or, you can try all different weights and see what your particular rifle likes. . .
Common sense. . .
👍👍👍👍👍
What do you recommend in your 10.5" 350 legend upper?
We recommend 1:16 twist on 350 Legend
Doesn't the 1:16 fall short for the sub sonic rounds though? I'm seeing guys with custom barrels using the 1:10 for the 350 subsonic loads and it appears to be very accurate.
@@toddk1377 Yep, 1:10 is the way to go if you're shooting 200gr or bigger in a 350 👍
1:8
1/9 twist will shoot up to 69gr

223 likes on an AR video......nice
UPPERS SHOULD BE SOLD WITH MAG!
Good luck finding 68gr - 77gr .
Freedom munitions. You're welcome.
