The struggle is REAL!
It’s hard to get customers to see the value of your work at these markets! Especially coming from a smaller town and majority of our customer base seems to try and bargain with you like this is some kind of yard sale…. GRRRR
I’ve rode on this struggle bus for far too long and I just want to sell my work!
Do you struggle with the same thing?
What has your experience been?
This is truth, you work hard on the product, and people don't want to pay what it's worth.
Awesome inventory, you are so talented.
Your prices are very reasonable. I think the problem us crocheters are having is that we need to some how change the mindset of the consumer. They think crochet is something your grandma does and she makes you stuff for free. With all the new crocheters now it will be a matter of time before people start seeing it as the art it is. I have been increasing my prices as I was too low and we'll see how I do at my next market.
Ppl would rather pay for something with a popular name then something that is authentic, handmade, that put in there hard work.
I'm working on a Christmas Granny Square blanket, Purses that I came up with from a double fold potholder pattern, market bags, bandanas, potholders, Strawberry potholder decorations, a hexagon blanket and etc. etc.
You are so talented 😊
I'm in the same boat. I'm in metro Detroit area and it's hard to get the value price. I've lowered my prices and still have stock. Btw I make baby items , hats, scarves, sweaters and dresses.
How do you determine how much stock to make/take? I've got my first market coming up and I kinda of only make what I want to, not multiples. I think your pricing with the considerations you listed made sense. Thanks so much for not price shaming 😅
I make gnomes what would you sale them for I live here in omaha Nebraska
