    Hi Dr Kannan, which eyeshadow are you wearing in this video? I love the color. Would be great if you can do a video on your makeup. It always looks so perfect 😉

      Thank you! That's so sweet as I am not good at makeup and learn from 16 year olds on tiktok LOL. But yes I can do a makeup video. I don't remember what eyeshadow this is...I think it's from a tarte palette I got few years ago.

    Hi! I have a question, do you *need* to use actives in your skincare routine? I’ve watched videos where it said that you need to use a toner b/c that is what actually hydrates your skin and what your moisturizer actually locks in, but then I’ve seen other videos that say that toners were only necessary back in the day when cleansers were very stripping of the skin’s natural oils. I’ve also seen videos that say that when you’re having a bad breakout & don’t know which of your products are causing the issue, it’s a good idea to cut down to the very basic routine of; cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. I don’t know, they all sound right in their own right, but it’s all very confusing and I would appreciate a more in depth explanation for how many steps your skincare routine actually needs.

      Hi, if you need to use actives depends on what skin issues you are trying to address? If you have dryness, then your actives would be ceramides and hydrating ingredients. If you want anti-aging, then your actives could be retinoids or vitamin C.
      So honestly, it depends on what you are trying to address. There's so much information so I know it can get confusing. You could also do a visit with a dermatologist (some even do telemedicine now) to help create a skincare routine.
      For everyone, I recommend first starting with basics (cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen in AM ; cleanser + moisturizer at nighttime) and slowly adding on ingredients as you start forming a habit.

    Hello! I'm new to your channel. My question is, can I use vitamin C on my hands? I'm trying to find something that will take my brown spots away. Plus, add moisture to my hands!!

      You can defn use vitamin C on your hands but it might not lighten them too much. I have a video on top 10 ingredients for hyperpigmentation: ruclips.net/video/aOuF_h7EDTs/видео.html
      And my video on sunday that's coming up is on sun spots! So if you have sun spots, this new video will be helpful. Thanks so much for watching!

    Hi Dr. Kannan, thank you for your videos. Do you recommend LRP Double Moisturizer for acne prone skin containing myristyl myristate which is highly comadogenic? Thank you for your response.

      @drswatikannan  Год назад

      Hi! I couldn't find that LRP has this ingredient. I have recommended it to several acne prone patients who tolerate it and do well with it. It's technically a noncomedogenic moisturizer. If you are ever worried, you can always do a test spot with any moisturizer for about 4 weeks and see how it works.

    Should I use a exfoliating toner? I'm 69 years young.

      I have a whole series of exfoliation that would be helpful to view. It depends on what the toner has.

      Hi I cannot give direct medical advice due to medicolegal issues and hippa compliance. You should see your doctor for questions regarding your skin or any scars. Thank you and wish you the best.
