As a fellow avid Level 42 fan I agree. I'd even take it a step further and say Mark, in my humble opinion, is a master bassist and one of the absolute greats and he matched his style brilliantly. But I agree...that Mike chorus is the part to beat 😂 I'm a girl and cant hit those notes.😭😂

I was 15 when this hit the radio. It's one of those absolutely "key" songs of my youth: it helped me form ideas about what love was supposed to be, and it had that entrancing electronica instrumentation, even on AM radio. I posted the link from this to my Facebook, and my friends list erupted in a waterfall of delight and praise. You nailed it. And you get us. You help us go back to a time when this was new and just finding love was the absolutely biggest thing we worried about.

Excellent job! Brought back some of my most bitter-sweet memories as teenager. I suffered my 1st heartbreak listening to this album back in 1987 when my 1st love walked-off into the sunset into the arms of another man. It took me a few years to recover from that one.

I am usually very harsh on artists doing covers as I want them to sound exactly like or better than the original but I will say this the original of this song whenever I hear it gives me the chills and you did the same thing sir
This song came out my senior year of high school and was mine and my first wife's song. The song stood the test of time. My marriage, not so much. Life as soldier.

Wow, Clemens!! I'm going to say this in the funniest way possible, but it's a major compliment. It's like someone with Multiple Personalities said, "Hey, let's start a coverband!" lol Amazing attention to detail on every sound.
I'm a synth player form the 80's who did the local band thing, and I know how all these sounds have envelopes that are tweaked in increments of 1/128ths and you've meticulously nailed it. You've got the detune spot on for 2 oscillator FM synth sounds right down to the velocity when playing it live. I'm also aware of the extensive note data at the end of recording if you're doing it in midi to edit in post.
I myself loved using Midi Time code and having the keyboards play back live / midi instead of record the audio because I had more flexibility, and that's where my compliment for you comes from.
I'm not just floored by your musical talents to perform all these parts, but the technical know-how to dial it in, from someone who obsessed on midi parameters back in the day!!!
