The rules on dredging have changed since we left the European Union. The EU classified silt dredged from rivers and canals as waste which had to be taken to landfill - with the associated landfill taxes of course and the cost of moving it, possibly many miles, by lorry. In fact, silt is high in nutrients and excellent for agricultural needs so farmers are more than happy for it to be deposited on their land. This results in significantly reduced costs for the CRT. Another bonus of leaving the EU Yeah !!!
Robbie - it was great to see a new video from you after a 3 month absence. I know it’s been said before, but it’s worth repeating... your videos are packed full of interest, sprinkled with nice personal insights and at the same time highly polished and professional. I cannot think of any other videos I’ve seen on any subject with this magical combination. So thank you - Tim
Hello Robbie. My husband likes you the best . I thought I would watch, he's right. Enjoyed it all. What a laugh with your mate. I'll keep watching now.
Absolutely in the top five you've ever done mate... that includes the stuff for the BBC... Really had me laughing and I hope you enjoyed watching it as much as I did. All the best
Nice to see one of my regular dog-walking routes on your vid. We're on the stretch by the Devil's Garden a couple of times each week & occasionally, we'll jump in the car & drive to Acton Bridge. We then walk past Saltersford Locks (& Tunnel on the T&M) alternating between the two waterways, & on beyond where you had your barbie. I think I've seen your pal & his little dog moored there before - I admired his boat! Great weather, great location & great vid! 👍
Nice River, the Weaver. Moored at all the spots you did on my boat. Even stayed at Woodbine Camp site in our Motorhome. The Pub was next to it. Loved Lenny’s Boat.
First saw your work on the TV - but stuck indoors struggling physically and mentally after an operation, I've just found these films of yours on RUclips - absolutely love them - and help me no end. please keep them coming!
And here we have robbie being an absoulte vibe yet again just causuly cooking on hot dogs on the canal another boater her met, amazing video man please keep posting these
It is typical beautiful country side but sometimes a long walk from boat to shop. We loved our holiday on the canals. We’re from Australia and we’d have gone back had it not been for Covid. 💕
I'm so envious I can't believe it mate. Most of your walks for provisions involves a canalside walk, or a country stroll. When the weather is that good, and you can just Moor up in a quiet spot, Crank the Barbie up, pour a light beer, life I can't imagine being here better!! Awesome to see you back on youtube Robbie!!! Missed ya!
HI Robbie. This really takes me back! My father was lock keeper at Saltersford in the days of British Waterways from 1970 and we lived at No. 4. I worked for them as a student. The locks were all manual in those days and it took something like 50 turns of the winches to open the gates. The paddles weren't easy, either. Kept us fit, though. The hydraulics installed to make life easier were responsible for putting on weight...many more biscuits consumed in the little white hut! There was quite a bit of shipping going up to ICI at Winnington. The drone shots are amazing....I never realised how beautiful it was from the air. I dis manage to get there in my own boat, Ida-Way, a couple of years ago. A right of passage, I suppose. Thanks again.
You made my evening just popped up on RUclips so straight away I was watching.great to see fran and rich also brilliant. Thanks Robbie stay safe and cranking it
Really enjoyed that Robbie. Made all the better with comedian Lenny what a star. Love guys like that I usually meet them at classic motor shows I have all the time in the world for them. Loads of common sense behind that frontage.
Had to play it twice I enjoyed it so much! Thanks Robbie,it's good to see your films back again. I've bee watching the BBC series again. Your music is great combined with the filming and commentary, perfect. I hope Mick had a piece of sausage!
Fab to see you back on the water Robbie. Now it may well be that I've been watching too many episodes of Hercule Poirot, but I immediately thought marzipan... erm cyanide apparently tho yur safe as long as you don't digest the flowers...:-/ erm soz i mean berries.. ;-)
Lenny and Robbie....Best comedy duo since 'Cannon and Ball'.....so funny (Thanks for the mention :) Proud to be a patron!....(worth waiting 6 months for)
What a pleasure it is to see an old face, as one reprobate to another I've had the same resalt tonight. It's lashing down out there so l had to raid the cupboard for what was left ermm vegetable soup and a jar of Pataks Tika Masala yumy Hope it a nice day tomorrow so l can get my mobility scooter out to get more supply's l might evan get some Frankfurters and beer Cheers 😎🥃😎🥃😎🥃
You're such a legend Robbie and help keep us all smiling 😊 you could do open days moored up somewhere so we could come and meet you and do it as fundraiser! I'd pay a tenner to come and have a brew and photo with you and see naughty lass for real 👍🤣 x
I’ve been watching since about the 6th episode. Really enjoy the honest showing of the good, bad, and boring. I think your music adds a texture other channels don’t have. Lenny seems like the type you could talk to all night and not hear the same story twice.
We moored there (the Devil's Garden)a couple of years ago, the field was very swampy and when we let the dogs off for their final run in the dark we discovered that the herd of cows had come down in the darkness and were all over the field - much squelching around trying to separate canines from bovines.
@@stewal6835 Yes, we will know if we ever moor there again. But the cows were nowhere to be seen when we moored, and there is (or was) no signage to indicate that they might suddenly appear, or even that cows had access to the field.
Eh, just call me "Wrong Lock Robbie" (o; Good to have you back, sir, what with the SADness of the clocks going back, etc. How lovely to see Bluebells and Wild Garlic - won't be long (hah) before they're back again.
It's really great to see a post from you Robbie !! You made my day ! I've been having car trouble today, it was so nice to finally sit down, relax and enjoy your latest vlog. I bet if I gave a wrench or "spanner", as you Brits say, to Lenny , he would know what to do with my car.
Hi Robbie, Good to see you again. You have been missed. Fantastic Vlog. A nice cruise, interesting info, a walk to the village shop and a BBQ with Lennie. What a swell day you had. You and Lennie were a great double act. The Dog was cute also. Do you moor up for the winter or do you carry on crankin it? Great to see you. Take care
Brilliant video Robbie. Shame on the people who run this country down. As you walked through the village I was immensely proud of its character, how the shop served you well and above all how clean it all looked. It made me very proud to be British
I used to be able to buy full cases of 24 cans of red stripe for a tenner,at one bit I had 7 cases in my room, then a couple a mates came back after the club and we demolished the lot
You're doing great work Robbie, thank you so much for your time and effort. You have no idea how much I (we) look forward to hearing from you. Take care and enjoy . . .

Hi Again Robbi nice to see you again I've been ill and not too good at the mo. But great to see you out and about and on your way to my neck of the Weaver again. Last time you were near me you were in the dry dock at the old Yarwoods boat yard. Anyway mate you take care and stay safe. 👍😁
Lenny - a star!!!! A legend in his own lunch time !! Robbie ……. Hope you didn’t end up with food poisoning after your epic Michelin star’bbq

Lenny IS THE MAN !!!

Thats why dogs should not be allowed to run free.......the farmer would be entitled to do anything required to protect his stock.
