Then way he reworked his songs is so incredible. He would update them and let them grow and breath. Most artists are afraid to tamper with their big hits. Prince would just improve them or.update them for tjhe curremt.time. the best example is his later version of Joy In Repetition as heard on One Night Only the Aftershow. its so much better than the version on.the album. Its slowed down and very soulful
i would pay thousands just to see he live one time…one of my biggest musical regrets ever… especially his last concerts with 3rd eye girl were just pure fire
Agree. This is a part of him that I didn’t know about. I knew he was a genius musician, but this band was just amazing, and especially getting to see him play the guitar from a harder rocking perspective has been amazing to see! ❤️🤘
Agree. I was at this show (I ugly up the video around the 3:30 mark) and am so grateful to have seen this side of Prince. I'd never seen him before 2014 and I wanted to do it right. I thought about all the different Princes - the dancer, the showman, the performer, the innovator, the lyricist, the poet, the intellectual, the spiritualist. We still got some of all of those, but I knew the main version I wanted to see was the musician. Stripped down to a 4-piece band I knew we'd get that at these shows. I only have 2 regrets looking back on this specific gig, which is the greatest gig I've ever been to. The first and main regret is that we can't do it all again. He's gone now, far too soon, but this specific time and moment couldn't be repeated. I saw Prince a few times and every show had its own identity. This one was magic. Watching this video isn't the same as being there in the moment, but it makes you remember how good it was. The second regret is there's no video footage of Chaos & Disorder from this specific show. I'd seen the Shepherd's Bush Empire footage and got into prime position in case he handed his guitar into the crowd and in this show at the end of the song he handed it right to me. I used to have the audio of it - there's a bootleg channel that claims to have this show but the audio isn't the same (it could be audio from the show the previous night at the same venue). In the audio from this exact show, the end of Chaos & Disorder has some awful out of key tapping mangled out on Prince's guitar, which was me. I'd love to be able to have that recording again.
@@halberaccount1240 he would have been 55 .... 4 months off his 56th birthday! But who cares really as he didn't celebrate birthdays. In his head he was probably 17. Amazing man .... the greatest! The world is a whole lot darker without him.
in my opinion this is the best version ever… When he plays that lead look at his face you can see every single note. This man is greatly missed for the talent he shared with us. I'm just glad I was alive in the time generation he was… Is a privilege
I was in the audience for this and the last night I ever saw him live and probably the best gig ever in my view. His rendition of something in the water that night is a dream. Miss him
Two things that get me about this video: 1) In spite of it being a single camera/single take video the person who shot it seems to be a professional. The image is well composed at all times. 2) The audio is INSANELY good!
@@monikaszymanowska5142Its oficial video that at the time were published on Tidal as exclusive content. There is also a mini concert in Paris but with several cameras and console audio
I was listening through headphones and it absolutely had to be desk audio as the quality was brilliant, but the confirmation is that the stereo field of the drums panned across left-to-right was unchanging regardless of direction the camera was facing, and no "phasing" as it moved around either - such an awesome experience!
OMG Crazy 😍😢 Thanks for uploading. We need his recorded live music to be published in high-res quality. No matter if he wanted or not. His legacy must be preserved. I want to buy his live albums.
Aye, front row. Those were the days 😢 great day waiting in the queue, the Gig up there as one of the Best Prince gigs i had been too. Trying to stay awake on the drive home afterwards to glasgow not so good 😂
Only Prince could bring John Lennon (6:09) back out to see true greatness. If only the Beatles and Prince could toured. Now that would have been a show. He was way ahead of his time. The Stones gave this young performer the stage. To bad the audience was too fucked up to appreciate it.
The Mozart of our time! It’s amazing every time I see him because I was at the Los Angeles Coliseum for The Rolling Stones Concert… and Prince opened. He was booed off the stage after about 2 and a half songs - or something like that. I was ashamed of that scene of inhumanity. Anyways… that probably made him more determined than ever. And the rest is… insert cliche.
YOU: I was 3 rows back stage right. When he was playing the guitar his eyes went in to this hypnosis, I can't describe it. ME: Stop lying Angelina, he's clearly wearing shades. Just enjoy it like the rest of us who weren't there but wish we were. 😂😂😂😂 #PrinceForever.
@ Jon Moralee It’s the other way around. Kravitz was inspired by Prince he said so himself. Prince was doing this in his teens. This here is Prince doing Jimmy Hendrix not Kravitz. Check out Dreamer💜🎸
Cool comment, but "Let's Go Crazy isn't a pop tune. It's more a funk rock/Minneapolis sound tune. But yeah, he slowed it down and turned into hard rock/Zepp tune.
Naturally, the best Prince cover of all time would be played by Prince.
Wow.
For real.
Ha! Perfect

The direction he was going before he died is so unbelievably underrated. He was evoking Jimi Hendrix and nobody really talks about it.

Same what a performance
Me too, when we all shouted oh no let’s go he smiled and then smashed it out all evening to about 400 people
We were front row in Birmingham ... Best night of our lives
I love that version of something in the water. So amazing
The greatest showman of all time!!!!!
My favorite version of Let's Go Crazy. Rock on Prince!
PURE! Hits the flanger @5:53 BOOM and the way he shares the stage/spotlight is SO PRO!!!
I love this version so much!!!!! Badass!
Prince. Blowing our minds. Again.
He was a musical genius. We will never see the like of him again and I was fortunate to be alive when he was 💜

This needs WAYY more views! Prince was phenomenal!
What a great loss for mankind.. I never saw him live... unfortunately
front row over there and one of the best Prince concerts I have ever witnessed.
Spotted. 😁🤘🏼
How do you take a funk rock song and make it even funkier? Well, that's Prince. The Minneapolis Sound was funky as hell.
very different, but magical how he just adjusts to the the right temp and enunciates just perfect. I Miss him :(
Love this song with this band .....ERDEYEGIRL..He must have had so much Fun..Greatness..Thx for posting

Me too was incredible
I came out nearly four hours later and haven't recovered since, my last ever prince gig and ill die happy.
I couldn’t be more jealous of a person than I am right now. That is fantastic.
Me too. Best - and last - time I saw him. 😢
This band and sound he put together was incredible. Tragically cut short. At this point charts were irrelevant. The people loved him.

I think this was a brilliant homage to Kravitz. Prince would never saw he openly admired Kravitz but his performances did the talking.
Kravitz performed with Prince at Paisley Park and recorded several songs with him that are in Prince's vault.

Remember it like it was yesterday 💜
I was going to go to this concert but just days before my mother passed away
Dang.... nice !!!!! not one tune off😪💃💃😁👏👏👏
Now this is pretty awesome
Beautiful how he slowed the tempo down on this beautiful song. Looks like he was taking a cue from his brother Lenny Kravitz.
I love his guitar work on this. The guitar tones he and his back up female guitarist getting are very nice! Very Hendricks influenced.
In the middle of the song i think they play Frankestein from Edgar Winter group.
I was busting my balls to remember where do I know the melody from. Thanks, you gave me peace of mind :)
Once a rocker, always a rocker....
