- Prince, already 8 years in April 2024 that we miss U 😥
The Bass solo includes a mashup of "777-9311" from The Time "What Time Is It?" 1982 album & "The Stick" from The Time "The Time" 1981 album.
It’s ridiculous how good he was at every instrument.
That grin at 2:06 is so amazing. What a loss this guy is not here anymore
We tend to think of Prince as a rock genius but his extraordinary talents show that he really was a jazz musician of the highest order. Don't believe me - ask Miles Davis.
This isn't talent that relegates itself to one sound; Prince's talent transcended genre itself.
Miles is ded, bro. x
@@stephenry I think you mean "dead". Yes, I know.
A lot of people don't realize how funky a bass player Prince was
He can play anything on stage, check him out on drums with Sheila E
You gonk!! 😅😅 Were here because we know how funky he is!!
I knew from his first album
It’s amazing how many guitarists still have no idea he’s an all time great guitarist. It’s like people don’t listen.
I now know lol
he turns into an animal every time he's on bass. I love that !
Agreed. I loved seeing him on bass and drums.
I used to think that Prince was only face/voice. But then I discovered that he was a sensational multi-instrumental ..... RIP good sir!!!!!!!
Sensational instrumentalist you mean
he literally played everything on most of his records...
@batlevi2247
:Multi-instrumentalist" is correct. You can be an instrumentalists by having prowess on a single musical instrument. When you play several you are a Multi-instrumentalists.
More than that Prince was a musical prodigy who’s genius & abilities knew no limits
Total multi-talent! Eric Clapton called him the best guitarist in the world after he saw Purple Rain.
Of course he plays the funkiest Time bass lines💜💜💜
He wrote em all
@@PirahnaheadDetroit Trust me, we know
Prince sure could put on a show🎶🎵🎶🔥
When Prince was still living a snippet of him playing something bluesy with Maceo was on here. OMG, It sounded so good. They took it down so quick I haven't found it again yet. Man Prince could've been a Mississippi blues man in another life.
Multi talented and just one of a kind! I remember where I was when I first heard ‘Little Red Corvette’. He is missed.
Off the charts talent!
Oooooh Yeah!!! My Fav!!!!Soooo Funky!!
Il VIVAIT la musique et la faisait vivre.
Unique , Prince forever ♥️
So interesting that Maceo had a completely unique sound / tome on the Sax. As soon as he starts playing, you know it's him
Simply incredible..... 💜💜💜💜💜👑
miss him so much
I love this.
There's Cool, and then there's Prince! None so Cool than this BMF!
That is a real music !!!
Fr!
The GOAT
When Prince takes over your bass ..you know that you are in trouble
Exactly!
Not if you can take over the guitar and the music plays on.
Well, when he took over drums for Sheila E. she would at least take over singing.
Awesome! And I Wonder does anyone have another section of this video? He was going into "Head" bass line at the end when it cut off....
Intouchable !
That's just cold blooded!💯💯💯💜💜💜
My dude PRINCE was all of it! Showman, visionary, vocalist, musician extraordinaire, songwriter, dancer, bandleader, engineer, businessman, producer, arranger, and composer.
Great guitar playing and nasty, stanky, bass licks during this performance with the legend Maceo Parker!
There will NEVER be another like him!
He was the whole package it will be a long time before we experience the likes of his genius again.
Ultra funky!
It is sad to say, but we couldn’t have these videos if he was still alive :( His music and all these videos became accessible after his death…
prince with john blackwell, RIP two legends
godlike
Fazendo o que ele mais amava😍💜🤍
When I grew up there were only 4 acts that really mattered... (in mainstream music) Prince, David Bowie, Michael Jackson... and the Rolling Stones.... other than that you could get some good Soundgarden or Nirvana if you put the radio on when High school would finish
기타,베이스,신디사이져 전문 잡지에 얼마나 많이 표지 모델을 했는지 알면 놀랠껍니다
Genio
Great video! uh but why did you cut it before it's ended?
Well, at that time I was often recording small videos to save my battery for other songs later. But it's a big regret now, that I didn't record a longer video for this part of the concert. Still, I'm happy to share this video, as it would have been selfish to keep it only for myself.
Eric Clapton was once asked "what's it like being the world's greatest guitar player" ?
He replied " I dunno, ask prince".
Sounds like a helicopter 🙌🏾
He wrote must of the song on the Times first album
I think Cool was written or co-written by Dez Dickerson, and the Stick was co-written by Lisa Coleman.
Porque o Prince está tocando a musica ILÊ AYE do Gilberto Gil ?
И в чём преееелесть сия шедевра???
Anybody pick up at around 2:40 he busted out Controversy
Sure sounds like it!
It's actually "The Stick" from the first Time album.
This would have been much more impressive haf Rhonda actually played rhythm guitar behind Prince's bass playing. I'm sure she can play some guitar having the chops to play bass for Prince. But overall most bassist aren't very comfortable on lead guitar. Still, great video. R.I.P Prince.
That's Ida Nielson and her Sandberg VM4 bass.
And this isn't even his best bass solo
Morris Hayes having a blast. Ida looking like she is a little frustrated. For those that may not know, the rest of the solo wasn't that great - and I love P yet agree with someone below - have a bass on stage, don't take a band member's bass.
Kind of a dick move to have her hand him her bass
She gave him the honor and the pleasure 👏🏾
Prince was Michael Jackson on steroids
Shame on Prince, making us white guys look so silly . . .
I'm 66, stepping back in, and refuse to quit.
He’s so much better than this example...
