@@carnagecandycos Sure, I can, it's made a bit more difficult to see in this exact performance cause there are a few times they mess up and do a move in the wrong order but certain moves still go around the pentagram correctly so I'll focus on those. Starting at 1:20 Wiggly does an in and out arm movement, at 1:25 this dance move moves to Pokey, then to Blinky at 1:28, then to Nibbly at 1:32, then to Tinky at 1:35, then it returns to Wiggly at 1:38. Now imagine a circle connecting the five characters together and each of the five characters as points of a star inside that circle (obviously normally Pokey and Tinky would be further inward for a traditional pentagram but they're further out here so they're not blocking other characters), if you were to draw a line connecting who is doing the in and out arm movement that started at Wiggly and moving from character to character you would draw a line from the point at Wiggly to the point at Pokey then to the point at Blinky then to the point at Nibbly then to the point at Tinky then back to the point at Wiggly, and you would have drawn a pentacle inside the circle making it a pentagram. You can do this for the four other dance moves as well, and Blinky's eye framing and Pokey's left and right posing also go around in a perfect pentacle, but Nibbly's lolli licking and Tinky's squatting get sorta lost a couple times with timing mistakes.
Technically yes but not a pentagram as you're thinking. The "pentagram" with a circle is ACTUALLY a pentacle (5 sided circle) which has many meanings but a pentagram is without a circle border. The pentacle isn't a bad symbol, it's usually a protective symbol of the 5 elements (spirit, water, fire, earth, air), while the inverted pentacle (on the book, the tip of the star is at the bottom) is the "evil" but not really just the symbol of the Satanist church putting "spirit" or "god" at the bottom because they focus on human free will and doing good without expecting rewards

@purp4168 I'd agree with the light focus thing but definitely disagree about the nightmare time spotlight points. I'd technically say that Blinky has more screentime in nmt than Pokey because Blinky's there for his entire episode, but Pokey has a full dedicated episode with a decent amount of direct appearances + tgwdlm is not stated to be but is indirectly/by extension a pokey stage show, so that's less of a hill im dying on than blinky having more screen time than tinky
I think the digital ticket was much better in this song because it shows the sheer scale and power of the lords in black and the proshot only really did close ups and didn’t show a lot of Corey and Curt :’(
No really, though. Something about the pro-shot version really took away from how the characters all moved about on the stage!! I think its awesome they got the proshot version but i think you lose a lot of what makes these musicals special when you don't get to see all the choreography and all of the movements. It's honestly why i prefer the guy who didn't like musicals and black friday because you can see everything instead of just zooms in on characters that are talking etc etc. I'm definitely gonna go get the deluxe digital version of this on their website for this specific video to see what else I missed in this one by only watching the youtube version.
I appreciate the quality of the pro shot, but was so happy to find this one. Not just for the wide shot giving us the experience as a whole, but also with the audience reaction. That's half the theatre experience right there.
Gota love that the brothers do eatchothers Choreo. They all start with their own move and then throughout their singing they take another brothers choreo. Lovely!
I can’t believe I just noticed this but when Stephanie, Grace and, Peter are reading from the book the background singers are encouraging them to complete the ritual by telling them what name to say next, this is more obvious when they pause before saying Wigglys name. The background singers sing the rest of the Lords In Blacks names in order but they repeat Wigglys name three times when Steph, Grace, and Peter pause.
I adore the proshot, but one thing I think is really lost in it... is just how predatory the Lords in Black come across. The vibes are there but seeing the wider shots, the posture... idk it just has a more intense feeling here. I love this scene regardless though!
LOSING MY MIND ABOUT THIS CHOREO, its absolutely fantastic, the 5 different same dance moves looping but all varying slightly to show each face's personality, absolutely they are siblings. Pokey's move is holding up his mask like its the skull from Hamlet, he's a musical nut. Nibbly obviously has an unsatiable hunger so its the liking of the lollipop. Wiggly waves his arms back and forth to symbolize his face tentacles. Blinky looks around of course because eyeball. I'm not 100% percent sure about Tinky but it could be he's excited to play another game or he could be like a goat getting ready to charge, those are both his things but im not sure what his moves are supposed to mean. In any case, so much thought and attention has been put into these moves, theres other things I noticed that I won't even add here like pokey using his mask when watching everyone bc he doesn't want to see everything he just wants himself. Magnificent
What stood out to me about Pokey's move is that it's the same what Paul's boss uses in "What Do You Want Paul?" when he sings "do you know what I want for myself?"
I know I’m late but I like the concept that Peter is watching as Tinky is getting closer to him. I mean he did said early that he is going to have the whole set in his toy box. Meaning that once they start talking about sacrificing Peter, it excites Tinky because he finally gets to have another Spankofkis.
Something I feel like the studio recording/final edited version is missing music-wise is how absolutely PUNCHY that drum is. Especially in the beginning of the final refrain. It’s easy to overlook percussion and the way the drums are so LOUD and OVERBEARING in this really adds a lot to the feeling of power the lords in black hold in this whole scene
Yessssss I’ve been wanting to see this again since I saw the digital ticket. Just because the choreography is so good to see all together without the close ups.
I wish the soundtrack included the laughter at the end as they leave. It just fits the song, I feel it ends so abruptly on the track and the laughter adds a nice final touch to the number.
Ahh this hit so hard, I was a bit disappointed with the pro shot version because of how awesome this was when I watched it the first time. Needed more wides! Thanks for posting
Really? I don't get the appeal of this version. Is it two different performances? It has to be, this versions deliveries seem very rushed and bland, it's like they had a deadline to clear out by 9. In the pro version they land the lines better I think
@@sm79165Most of the lines in the pro version feel better, but the pro version completely misses out on the actual stage composition/positioning of the Lords My ideal version would be a wide angle filming of the pro
@@moore9793 It must be a case of preferring whatever you saw first I guess. I saw the pro version first and for me it built this sense of ambiguity of where the lords are (except Wiggly ofc) and this gave them a sense of omnipresence like you know they're in the room with you but you don't know exactly where that is or like they're here one second and then over there the next. This plays really well for demonic vibes, because the less you know the more willing you are to suspend your disbelief in magic, nothing ruins an illusion more than knowing too much and I feel like that's what they went for but no one in here seems to have understood them. When I saw this video it ruined the mystique by showing me where they stood and it was really disappointing to watch them not move from that one spot. Which brings me to what really bothers me is why have them so spaced out in the first place, maybe if they inched closer slowly and got next to them by the end of the scene it might have worked, or just put them as close as Wiggly was from the start and have them rotate in a circle while dancing, that would have solved everything edit: I watched it again and at 2:01:49 there is a wide shot showing where everyone is but it's so short and they're not that well lit so it might as well not have been included
Man this show would have been awesome to see live... could you imagine watching this in basically pitch black and feeling the chorus just vibrate through you... damn...
This is really interesting because on the filmed version, they keep cutting between the Lords as they converse between themselves, hardly ever showing the trio. It works well to show that the Lords in Black simply do not care that much about the lives or anything to do with the people who summoned them - they can ignore them as much as they want, and joke about inside references like "What do you want steph?" without any fear of repercussions. But here, the cinematography is obviously just one all-encompassing shot. Instead, you get the real notion that they have surrounded the trio, and that their decision to summon them is inescapable. I am normal and sane, why do you ask?
It's times like these when I prefer the digital ticket instead of the pro shot. This looks so much more horrifying than the proshot and you can see the tiny details they add! They look so surreal here especially with their choreo
I’ve watched the pro shot (more times than I care to admit) but seeing the full stage shot of this song particularly is so cool cause you get to see all of the dance exchanges and the characters reaction to what the Lords in Black are saying and I love it!!!

I think it’s very good and nice to see where the lords in black are standing on stage but I almost like the pro shot more because it feels more chaotic and crazy and makes them scarier to me
I seem to be alone in not liking this version as much. The close ups make the scene more cramped and really ups the danger to the characters. The quick editing makes it feel like a trip and thats what makes me find the proshot more unnerving. But my main problem is only really seeing Nibbly clearly in this version, the pro shot shows the costumes and choreography so much better. But thats just my opinion and its probably not correct one lmao
I also really like the RUclips one but I love seeing the full stage, I would love a mixture of the two, with the closeups and full stage but I'm not great at editing, hopefully someone might make it!

the digital ticket is a performance you can buy if you can't see the show in person while it's showing, that's usually filmed with one stationary camera. typically, the digital ticket is filmed on the opening weekend, i believe. it's a different performance to the one(s) in the pro-shot.
The digital ticket is the unedited non-proshot version of the show They basically just recorded the show unedited and let people buy it before the show comes out!
This version of the show matches better to the soundtrack (same hatchet town) because it’s the actual full stage show vs the proshot where it’s more then one show mixed with things filmed not live after the fact. This version is still available through purchasing the proshot. I agree that a lot of things in it do hit differently

Or they can buy the digital ticket version with the proshot from starkid and have the entire unedited show? So starkid gets paid for it and knows there is an audience who does still like the live unedited shows?
I wish but I don't unfortunately, I just screen recorded a couple of parts of the digital ticket when I bought it. I thought this part was so good and wanted to see it again while I waited for the RUclips release and someone asked if I had it

The pro shot feels more disorientated which fits the Lords more than the digital shot
I love how you can hear will and Bryce singing backstage in this version
dude i love the footstep sounds before wiggly speaks sm. i don't know why
@@ZannaTheFangirl OMG just went back and checked, incredible catch!
This may seem weird, but i think Tinky's moves are supposed to represent rewinding time??? i’m not sure though
I've watched this so many times and literally JUST caught how Stephanie grabbed onto Peter when Tinky talks about adding him to the Box. So cute!
She really did grab him and look at Tinky like "nuh-uh, he's mine"
The percussion is absolutely the heartbeat of the whole thing.
Yessssss I’ve been wanting to see this again since I saw the digital ticket. Just because the choreography is so good to see all together without the close ups.
@@IauraJ glad I could help!
because of this video i finally was able to figure out what the hell they were doing during the "stephanie has got a gun" part!! hoorayy!!

idk why but "Don't frighten them, Pokey, you nasty boy" makes me laugh way too hard every single time.
@@Dale-ct5ru as it should! Also we both have piggie profile pictures!
@@HilaryLudkin-Finnie Yooo!
I wish the soundtrack included the laughter at the end as they leave. It just fits the song, I feel it ends so abruptly on the track and the laughter adds a nice final touch to the number.
Don’t forget the audience screaming when Wiggly says his first line. Also really adds to it
Ahh this hit so hard, I was a bit disappointed with the pro shot version because of how awesome this was when I watched it the first time. Needed more wides! Thanks for posting
Really? I don't get the appeal of this version. Is it two different performances? It has to be, this versions deliveries seem very rushed and bland, it's like they had a deadline to clear out by 9. In the pro version they land the lines better I think
@@sm79165Most of the lines in the pro version feel better, but the pro version completely misses out on the actual stage composition/positioning of the Lords
My ideal version would be a wide angle filming of the pro
Which brings me to what really bothers me is why have them so spaced out in the first place, maybe if they inched closer slowly and got next to them by the end of the scene it might have worked, or just put them as close as Wiggly was from the start and have them rotate in a circle while dancing, that would have solved everything
edit: I watched it again and at 2:01:49 there is a wide shot showing where everyone is but it's so short and they're not that well lit so it might as well not have been included
After only hearing the pro shot and cast recording the "La-la-la-la-la" and "The lords in black ah" digital ticket sounds goofy.
Right, I was like “what is with these ‘the lords in black call us’ they sound so off”
Man this show would have been awesome to see live... could you imagine watching this in basically pitch black and feeling the chorus just vibrate through you...
I am normal and sane, why do you ask?
i too am normal and sane and LOVED that last sentence of your analysis. i want to eat it like nibbly its so GOOD
Wiggog Wiggog Y'rath= Wiggly

I like this version too because you can truly hear the unedited terror and everything in between and fully see everyone’s reactions it’s incredible! ❤
It's times like these when I prefer the digital ticket instead of the pro shot. This looks so much more horrifying than the proshot and you can see the tiny details they add! They look so surreal here especially with their choreo
Aaa I’ve been trying to find a digital ticket version to learn the choreo!! Thank you so much!
no problem!
You can get the digital ticket from purchasing the proshot and bonus features

I love that starkid has a free proshot, but there’s just something about the digital ticket version that makes me go FERAL
I’ve watched the pro shot (more times than I care to admit) but seeing the full stage shot of this song particularly is so cool cause you get to see all of the dance exchanges and the characters reaction to what the Lords in Black are saying and I love it!!!
Doing the Lords’ work. Thank you!!
Now this is someone who knows how to correctly use apostrophes!
What you did there. I see it.
As much as I loved the professional shots of this scene, I wish they had more shots of them as a group instead of just the one.
I think you can hear the Lords in Black walking on stage when Pete asked if it worked 😂
Commenting for the algorithm in the name of our Ceaseless Watcher, Bliklotep. May their thousand eyes gaze upon this video with favor, O' ancient eldritch audience, praise be the council of the Lords in Black!

I would totally make a deal with evil entities if they'd sing and dance like that.
You do not understand how much I love the lords in black
oh finally! i wanted so badly to see a wider angel on this song, always sad you could only really see on Lord at a time
Wow, thanks for sharing this is awesome! Gives it a whole different vibe seeing it in this view. The cuts and edits were so well done for the RUclips show but this is just so wild. It’s somehow more creepy? Seeing all of them at the same time the whole time even though the zooms and edits were creepy as they were. So rad, wish I could have seen the whole show.
I thought this scene would be less scary filmed like this but it's actually still terrifying
I love it when they do like a version of another's move in like star order if that makes sence

I love the youtube version but wont lie, it is very cool to experience the story from part of the audience and to see the stage

It was something you had to pay to access but the full official proshoot is on RUclips if you look up nerdy prudes must die on the teamstarkid RUclips channel. This is just a clip because a lot of people preferred the wide shot for this specific scene
Question, this digital versión is the same that pit on youtube but whit bigger imagine and not clear sound ? I think it coult be, but theres some parts that sound a little more differents that the RUclips version like the "his soul i wanna lick it" it sounds actually like the song on the álbum soundtrack
It's just a different performance to the one on RUclips
the digital ticket is a performance you can buy if you can't see the show in person while it's showing, that's usually filmed with one stationary camera. typically, the digital ticket is filmed on the opening weekend, i believe. it's a different performance to the one(s) in the pro-shot.
The digital ticket is the unedited non-proshot version of the show
They basically just recorded the show unedited and let people buy it before the show comes out!
This version of the show matches better to the soundtrack (same hatchet town) because it’s the actual full stage show vs the proshot where it’s more then one show mixed with things filmed not live after the fact.
