It's not realistic. It's a brutal anime but I wouldn't say it is realistic. You have women going into battle with miniskirts and the tone of the show is all over the place.

One of the best animes i've ever seen, no shonen cliches, no mercy, simply real. And that makes this anime so great, literally 24 episodes make me felt more emotions than others animes with a much more episodes
When the first time I watched this anime, I was pretty shocked and I felt that my brain melted because of all the shocking deaths when I didn't even recover from the last deaths. It's amazing how they shifted from dark and horrifying scenes to even light hearted and happy moments from time to time and how well they transitioned from each step. I feel like this was one of the most realistic approach I've seen in an anime. A lot of fans are unhappy with the ending but once I cooled down I realized how much I appreciated this anime. This was a world of war. Doesn't matter if you think you're on the right side or not each side of revolution had a lot of casualties (just like you'd expect from a revolution). There is no plot armor in a revolution. There is no happy ending to a war. A lot of people might disagree with me but I think we need this type of anime more in the industry. We're always expecting a happy ending and a plot armor for the main character so much so that those times when anime is trying to create an intense moment, we just know the end result and those intense moments are diluted. Not in this anime though, because you're always holding onto your seat and I really really appreciate this story

Same here! I hated all the deaths that were happening to all the characters I loved. Even when the show was over I was still shocked and upset with all the characters deaths. Until time passed, I eventually cooled off and decided to watch it again. After watching it a second time, the show has made me appreciate anime in a hugely different perspective. Why do I say this?!? Well, Akame Ga Kill was my first watched anime ever. I knew all the other anime’s would most likely have plot armor for other characters in other shows, but Akame Ga Kill speaks different volumes in anime. I’ve heard other anime’s having happy endings and loads of plot armor because I just highly assumed it. How I captured Akame Ga Kill was I think when I watched a few episodes ahead that sheele or bulat (bro) dying in an episode. After seeing that, I decided to watch it from the beginning and that’s when everything took off for me. I’m sincerely grateful that Akame Ga Kill was my first Anime that I came across to!!! Thanks to the people that wrote and pour in their time, hard work and passion for you guys to bring it worldwide! Appreciate it. Much thanks!

Yeah, i dont mind the ending that much or even Leone's death and how that played out. It was really the moment of Tatsumi remembering Bro saying that the heroes just disappear. Leones death was basically exemplary of what Bro was saying.

Why was it called *Akame* ga kill, when Akame had so little screen-time compared to all others? Answer (Spoiler): Because she lives to tell the story and all others are dead!
People are so butthurt over this anime because there are too many deaths. People are so used to the Shonen anime where everyone lives happily ever after. Well in war, it's not like that way. Anime need to do this more. When people die, they don't come back to life. That was one of the things they pointed out in this show. There isn't anything you can do to bring someone back from the dead. Once they're dead, they're dead. This show, shows that there is no mercy. And you have to deal with that pain. It sucks but it's reality.
Honestly I don't think that people are "butthurt" about Akame ga Kill because there are many deaths. It's more because those deaths are meaningless and had barely any affect on the story and characters. I haven't realized that *SPOILER ALERT* the main character (Tatsumi? That's his name?) died. I was like... "WTF? Did he died already? Or is he still alive? Oi? WTF happened here?!?! What?!?!?". And also Leone. I thought that she was still alive until I found out a couple weeks later that she died xD And those meaningless deaths are not the only reason. Poor character development, reason of Esdeath vs Akame fight (they wanted it to be something like in Ga-rei Zero or what?) and why the main character (Tatsumi? Am I right?) wanted to be with this pink haired loli? Can somebody answer? Oi?? Why?!?
@108438371514357200450 The manga is so much better. The anime only had 24 episodes to work with. Since they caught up to the manga, the studio just decided to make their own story. They couldn't just cancel it. That's why the ending seemed rushed. They had 5 episodes to wrap things up. The manga is still continuing today and the anime came out 2 years ago. I think with what they had to work with, they didn't do bad with the ending. I think the author will do something similar to the ending of the manga. I would seriously love for them to make a remake of this anime, and have it around 48 episodes. And bring back the OST Le Chant De Roma.
They never bring back the original ost... :( It's like when I found out there was a remake of Hellsing but they didn't bring back the original ost or opening song. The remake was awesome, but without a fantastic soundtrack to accompany it, I just feel like it's incomplete. And that's my belief with all movies and shows, anime or not.
The anime is a masterpiece. Represents somehow the real world; pain, death, facing the corruption spreading and dying in hope of achieving something. The only difference is that in the anime it worked, but in the real world it sadly won't until the whole population of the earth stands up against them.

Everytime I click on this video, no matter what my mood is, looking into Akame's eyes gives me that feeling of pure will. It's very inspiring for my writing. She looks like she's going to attack no matter what, right or wrong, she has already decided that this is what she's going to do. She probably even knows that it won't change a thing. Very awe-inspiring.
listening to this, no matter how much time has passed, always makes me feel complicated emotions but it's not a bad thing and it also has that hint of nostalgia to it.
Akame Ga kill is an unique anime, in terms that their creators were bold enough to kill the entire cast except 1 and still do it in a meaningfully brutal way.

What I like most about this anime is that everything that happens is just REAL!! -The dead WILL NOT RETURN! -Akami gets to kill her sister so silently and yet when Tatsumi opened to her you could see how devastated she was, she cried so loud in despair! Yet she keeps herself together no matter what, I like that too. Being strong no matter how hard the situation is! that's one tough person. -The ones who loved and longed for a partnership died and was separated even though it was a one-sided love. -The good were fooled by the bad guys, thinking they were doing the right thing, just like in real life!! I love ❤❤ this anime so Much and the OST is spectacular 9.99999999(infinite fraction)/10 because nothing is perfect just like real life!😉

@@ofimportance5458 Oh yeah I have heard of that but every time someone says this to me I don't like it. Tatsumi lives... Well okay not that I don't like characters survive the catastrophe but I personally loved the unexpected ending of the main character dying to the final episode. Very few animes did that before especially to the final episode when you feel like he is saved, he dies. Plus the ending with Esdeath dying with him gave me a Hunchback of Notre Dame feeling of when Quasimodo died with dead Esmeralda in his arms (and Hugo named it "Quasimodo's marriage" because they weren't separated) it was a brilliant way that escapes from the standard villain death scenes since Esdeath doesn't die with the usual curses or with the final redemption (she doesn't redeem nor seems to be ready to apologize) but she simply dies with her beloved in her arms instead. Another thing I didn't like of the Manga is the kind of "set up" feeling of Tatsumi's "death", how conveniently Akame kills the dragon and not him etc. I preferred the anime because there was no escape. Just a pure heroic death. Also the "dragon baby" just seems weird to me. Sorry to those who love the Manga but it just doesn't fit to me with the whole story (of course mainly because I saw the anime) maybe it is better supported in the Manga. Okay some things were nicely supported in the Manga such as Lubbock's death etc but I preferred the anime over the Manga. Of course that is only my personal opinion 😊

This song gives me the chills. It's so beautiful yet so sad. And when it starts getting more intense and the war cries comes out......it just hits me. I feel like it gives me the power to just become a beast it's incredible. Such a masterpiece of a show and OST.

Having just finished this anime i am now extremely grateful for Odas way of not having many major deaths in one piece. This anime had enough major deaths for me to witness in this lifetime.
I really wish there were more animes like this one, no anime pushed my emotions like this one, you get to know and appreciate every single character, Villains and Heroes, and leave you with the sight of everysingle one of them crushed.
this OST perfectly describes the anime; the suffering ;the mourning of dead comrades, the final triumph over the corrupt government and the resulting price they paid, this anime was written well as you sympathize with even the antagonistic jaegers , every death is something you feel on a personal level (except the corrupt uncle's of course) this anime is a wonderful example of how war is never glorious , only hopelessly sad, while this anime can be a tear generator, i've re watched it many times for it's wonderfully written and realistic characters and story

People are so butthurt over this anime because there are too many deaths. People are so used to the Shonen anime where everyone lives happily ever after. Well in war, it's not like that way. Anime need to do this more. When people die, they don't come back to life. That was one of the things they pointed out in this show. There isn't anything you can do to bring someone back from the dead. Once they're dead, they're dead. This show, shows that there is no mercy. And you have to deal with that pain. It sucks but it's reality.
Honestly I don't think that people are "butthurt" about Akame ga Kill because there are many deaths. It's more because those deaths are meaningless and had barely any affect on the story and characters. I haven't realized that *SPOILER ALERT* the main character (Tatsumi? That's his name?) died. I was like... "WTF? Did he died already? Or is he still alive? Oi? WTF happened here?!?! What?!?!?". And also Leone. I thought that she was still alive until I found out a couple weeks later that she died xD And those meaningless deaths are not the only reason. Poor character development, reason of Esdeath vs Akame fight (they wanted it to be something like in Ga-rei Zero or what?) and why the main character (Tatsumi? Am I right?) wanted to be with this pink haired loli? Can somebody answer? Oi?? Why?!?
@108438371514357200450 The manga is so much better. The anime only had 24 episodes to work with. Since they caught up to the manga, the studio just decided to make their own story. They couldn't just cancel it. That's why the ending seemed rushed. They had 5 episodes to wrap things up. The manga is still continuing today and the anime came out 2 years ago. I think with what they had to work with, they didn't do bad with the ending. I think the author will do something similar to the ending of the manga. I would seriously love for them to make a remake of this anime, and have it around 48 episodes. And bring back the OST Le Chant De Roma.

It's like when I found out there was a remake of Hellsing but they didn't bring back the original ost or opening song. The remake was awesome, but without a fantastic soundtrack to accompany it, I just feel like it's incomplete. And that's my belief with all movies and shows, anime or not.

The Ost matches with the anime. The show depicted the real horrors of corruption and death. That there are no Main characters who can't die.

Everytime I click on this video, no matter what my mood is, looking into Akame's eyes gives me that feeling of pure will. It's very inspiring for my writing. She looks like she's going to attack no matter what, right or wrong, she has already decided that this is what she's going to do. She probably even knows that it won't change a thing. This anime has been in my watchlist for a long time and 3 days ago i started watching it.When tatsumi defeated the earth dragon and the travelers told him about the corrupt capital but tatsumi was still determined to go then this music started playing.I knew from the moment it played that something big and sorrowful is coming.

What I like most about this anime is that everything that happens is just REAL!!
-The dead WILL NOT RETURN!
-Akami gets to kill her sister so silently and yet when Tatsumi opened to her you could see how devastated she was, she cried so loud in despair! Yet she keeps herself together no matter what, I like that too. Being strong no matter how hard the situation is! that's one tough person.
-The ones who loved and longed for a partnership died and was separated even though it was a one-sided love.
-The good were fooled by the bad guys, thinking they were doing the right thing, just like in real life!!

@@ofimportance5458 Oh yeah I have heard of that but every time someone says this to me I don't like it. Tatsumi lives... Well okay not that I don't like characters survive the catastrophe but I personally loved the unexpected ending of the main character dying to the final episode. Very few animes did that before especially to the final episode when you feel like he is saved, he dies. Plus the ending with Esdeath dying with him gave me a Hunchback of Notre Dame feeling of when Quasimodo died with dead Esmeralda in his arms (and Hugo named it "Quasimodo's marriage" because they weren't separated) it was a brilliant way that escapes from the standard villain death scenes since Esdeath doesn't die with the usual curses or with the final redemption (she doesn't redeem nor seems to be ready to apologize) but she simply dies with her beloved in her arms instead.
Another thing I didn't like of the Manga is the kind of "set up" feeling of Tatsumi's "death", how conveniently Akame kills the dragon and not him etc. I preferred the anime because there was no escape. Just a pure heroic death.
Also the "dragon baby" just seems weird to me. Sorry to those who love the Manga but it just doesn't fit to me with the whole story (of course mainly because I saw the anime) maybe it is better supported in the Manga.
Okay some things were nicely supported in the Manga such as Lubbock's death etc but I preferred the anime over the Manga.
Of course that is only my personal opinion 😊

this OST perfectly describes the anime; the suffering ;the mourning of dead comrades, the final triumph over the corrupt government and the resulting price they paid, this anime was written well as you sympathize with even the antagonistic jaegers , every death is something you feel on a personal level (except the corrupt uncle's of course) this anime is a wonderful example of how war is never glorious , only hopelessly sad, while this anime can be a tear generator, i've re watched it many times for it's wonderfully written and realistic characters and story

Side note, I absolutely loved this anime, but does anyone else think it would be even better without the classic anime tropes of bright colors, pink haired 12 year old assassins and fan service? Like a truly more adult version without those tropes would have just made it even better and darker.
