I used to play the Colle system with an early c3, but I will be switching to the Colle Zukertort system. The bishop on b2 is more active and can easily participate in a king side attack as you showed in the video.
i played a few games with colle ,also i found that it suited me better as compared to london system(as i was playing london as my main weapon for white hehe)
Hmmm...nice play; does it work in Correspondence chess I wonder, when opponents have access to huge databases---as well as numerous chess engines that can spot any 'tactic' at an instant?!
I’ve never quite understood why people play correspondence chess when people can just use engines. Haven’t tested it there. However, it works well enough in blitz, rapid, and standard though!
@@SLChessDevelopment Hmmm...good point-but folk can't always get to a club especially now with covid-19 etc. Corres chess was fine - before the huge development of engines; reckon it's pretty well busted now! sad eh?!
Excuse me if I am getting this wrong but the example move 11.Qf3 that you are displaying would be a tactical blunder because Black has 11...c4 threatening the fork ...c3. White can try 12.Nxd7 Qxd7 13.Be2 but Black holds the advantage with 12...c3 13.Bxc3 Qc7 etc.
I really like the zukertort opening but what if black fianchetto his dark squared bishop in 3rd or 4th moves after we play e3? Since we block our dark squared bishop with the pawn, i generally have a problem in that kind of situation. And also our valuable light's squared bishop's diagonal is closed in that way. What should be our response?
Just watching this a while after it’s release, since I need something different to play with white other than my English. For me it feels a little bit like a Stonewall with white, and since I’m playing Stonewall I might be able to transfer some ideas
Can this system be played by starting with Kf3 rather than d4 first and switch the order of those two? Also wondering how to get around black’s pesky d5 pawn .... otherwise really like this system and your instructional style!
I drew a 9 year old kid in an amateur tournament yesterday and when I asked him what his opening was called he said, or rather I heard: zegertoot! Took me a while to find this today but thanks 👍👍👍
Then you get sad :(. Jokes aside, bishop out early for black is not good and what you would want to do then is to play c4, Qb3 etc to take advantage of the weakened light squares!
Not castling on the kingside is usually very bad for black because their queenside is often very open and you can usually open it further with moves like c4
I really love that you talk about the ideas behind the moves. I also love the pace you go at - not too fast not too slow!

Yup! The Zukertort is the upgraded version!
London, colle and Catalan are all super strong openings. D4 is definitely the way to go, alpha zero seems to think so too!
It also liked the Ruy Lopez!
Great lesson thank you 🙏
Why aren't you doing more videos? Hope you're okay! Your videos are great learning tool!
Busy with my day job unfortunately, I really want to come back though
Thanks mate. My friend is interested in this opening and this video should help out.
hopefully it does!
loved this breakdown! Thanks Sean!
You are welcome!
very nice video! greetings from Italy
thanks!
Kicked butt using the zukertort
nicee
switched from Queen's Gambit to the Zukerfort and I've been killiun' it!
Nice!
Gonna try this out. It's difficult for a beginner like me to initiate using London system.
While learning the setup is super easy for the London, using it effectively requires a high skill cap indeed

Hahaha, having a plan goes a long way to enjoying chess
Is c4 a good move at all, depending on where the opponent castles or if there is a d5 pawn
There will be a variation in the future in which I will explain when to play c4!
@@SLChessDevelopment okay, I will be looking forward to it!
Thanks, well explained.
No problem!
Love this channel!!
Love this comment!
This is birilliant! I liked and subscribed. Please show games vs 1200-1500. Thanks
Definitely will do so!

I've been playing the Colle Zukertort instead of the Queen's Gambit and I am loving it so far! Less space for black's tactics..
Exactly!

Woops, I definitely fell for that once and made the same mistake here X_x. The queen can't be on c7 for the tactic to work. Thanks for catching it
There seems to be similarities to the standard London System here. Thanks for this series, I will give it a try!
some opponents of mine pin my knight in start what should I do on that , do you have a line?
Great content!
Thanks!

Love this videe😩😩the colle go crazy
it really does
dark blue and white looks awesome on the board
Gotchu
Just asking, isn't move 11. Qf3 blunder? I think black can respond by playing c4 with the threat of Bb7 pinning Queen on f3 and c4-c3 black pawn 🙏
I like it. Thanks!
:)

King f3?
Is C2 > C4 a good move
I play the colle classic, and have given the Greek gift very often
is it necessary to learn a full setup after e5 in the beginning? Ive see many Player who play this move.
As a beginner, you don't need to know many openings, or full setups. Just get to know the basics and slowly move into these systems.
This opening is like the much stronger older brother of the Bird opening that I used to play!
Hahaha ya!
Very interesting opening
thanks
@@SLChessDevelopment keep up the good work
Nice video
Nice profile picture
What if hey castle to the queen side instead?
that's a good question
what happens if the Opponent plays e5 after d4? i have to take the pawn and play totally different right?
Sadly, yes, but that's a free pawn. Just don't fall for the traps and you'll be fine :)
Dude thank you I climb from 900 to 1002 through this system.
:) Happy to hear!
Hey can you play this as black?
G'Day Folks I can't find Part 3 & Part 4 of the Colle opening vids. Can someone help please. Thanks in adance
5.24 Qf3 is a blunder i guess after black plays c4

Hahaha
how about how to play against
d4 e5 system
dxe5 Bc5
what, if blacks's third move is bishop G4 ?

i switched from london system to colle zukertort and gained 100 elo on chess.com!!!
im 1652 now btw
@@xuankienta3246 That's amazing!
Think someo
ne detroyed this guy with the sicilain super dragon and he was never the same
Bro no one goes that long into the game without playing knight c6 this opening is not it
Nc6 is actually not good in Queen pawn openings as it limits the c-pawn movement
@@SLChessDevelopmentgood point!
Come on A6 at 5:27? No decent player would miss the fact that you are lining up on his kings side. Keep it real…..
You talk too fast. Try saying more with less words.
