Exactly right. As the saying goes, 4 wheels moves the body, 2 wheels moves the soul. As a motorcycle rider , I’m not necessarily looking for the most practical ride out there. I’m looking for something that appeals to my soul. I’m 58 and recently traded in a Harley Fat Bob for a triumph Daytona 660. Why ? Because I like sport bikes and it’s gorgeous. I don’t have to justify my taste to anyone but me. All the bikes listed will have their proponents and they’re all correct! The R18 is a beast and not to my taste but I could see how someone might love it ! Same with the the thruxton. Yes, it costs more than a bonneville but have you actually seen one in person and not in pictures?? The finish is gorgeous. As my dad was fond of saying ,”you get what you pay for”. Now everyone’s homework is to get out and ride and have some fun ! (Life is short)
Good analysis. IMO, the price is relative to your financial means. The price of the Multistrada seems a bit high, but then , no one ever said Ducati was cheap.
This is why I bought a 1994 Harley Davidson Electra Glide Classic. It has 125000 miles on it. It makes good power. It stops well. It does not leak nor consume oil. Also, it is carbureted.

I think it's funny that Harley-Davidson markets itself as a luxury or exclusive brand when practically every bike you see on the road, here in America is a Harley.
I had a 2007 Busa. Mileage was as good as any sport bike since its all in how you ride. 5 years and 50000km later. Alberta to California and back. It is that comfortable. It was $12G new than so if it's $18G now than I'd say that's not bad for inflation over 17 years. Just my take.
The only overpriced motorcycles here are the Harley Davidsons. The others are reasonable priced in comparison. Just look at the Suzuki and the Kawasaki. Nice bikes.
This list could've been filled entirely with any Harley (except the Pan America, but only just) or any BMW......and as for the BMW R18 being a "head turner", yeah....but it's turning your head away with your eyes screwed tightly shut, which is pretty much your reaction when you see the servicing price & the way it draws lines along the road when you try to corner it.
All models of hayabusa : low tech, cheap materials, zero handleability, that's why in Europe this japanese noodle is nicked widowmaker and it leads the death toll stats.
Everything is way over the top these days & it will only get worse. Handlebars on all the bikes today are WRONG. Big BMW being blacked out is CRAP. Strip all that garbage off that H.D. & you'll have a great bike.Hayabusa- nothing needed-great bike as is.Triumph: same engine in all their street bikes but a different tune on the style. Choosing a motorcycle happens emotional. Price is mostly secondary. Brands all know this.😊

But that Ducati Diablo V4 it's totally ridiculously overpriced and they're not really selling very well.
Expected to see more BMW in the list, expensive to buy and expensive to keep running..
