I know this might not have been the creators intentions, but the creators of the manga mentioned that whenever a character is feeling intense emotions they're eyes have more white in them, and in the manga whenever Dazai looks at Chuuya his eyes either have white in them or they turn a lighter shade. Idk, it was just something I thought was kind of cool :P

Sounds exactly like something Dazai would say, especially because Dazai thinks people die when they become attached to him or he becomes attached to them. "No one loves me like you can." feels like this little selfish part of Dazai (in his eyes) where even tho he thinks he's hurting Chuuya, he still feels deeply connected with and loved by Chuuya. " I deserve it don't I?" Is so gut-wrenching, because while Dazai doesn't seem to feel remorse for what he did in the mafia, he still thinks he deserves to die simply for existing and "infecting" everything around him. The imagery of meeting ' judgment by the hounds' suits Dazai because while he has a hatred for dogs in BSD, for unknown reasons, all the people who have become attached to him and then gotten hurt because of it all have dog metaphors attached to them. Dazai always calls Chuuya his dog and we know Dazai not only hurt Chuuya by leaving the mafia but he also hurt Chuuya emotionally/physically while he was still in the mafia. Odasaku and Ango were a part of the 'Stray Dogs' in which Ango betrayed them and Oda died. Akutagawa is called 'the wild dog of the Port Mafia' and was emotionally manipulated and abused by Dazai. This makes it seem like when Dazai dies he thinks the people he's hurt will judge and get their penance. Dazai running away from the dogs could mean him running away from his past in the mafia and therefore the judgment he faces there. Idk tho, lovely animation

Oooo my gosh, this was beautiful I don't even know where to begin Ok, so, firstly, the whole symbolism with dogs, both in the song and being a skk thing, it's so wonderfully intertwined in this animatic, especially with dogs judging and chasing Dazai towards the end, like his regrets and guilt in regards to Chuuya haunting him and he tries to run away from them, but he also runs from bad parts of his past too(the whole port mafia deal) I also really like the symbolism of the petal falling off the flower when Dazai leaves(also, it adds on that, if am correct, it's a camellia, an skk flower) Secondly, want to say that the whole animatic on a technical aspect is amazing. My fav would be the animation of Dazai running and his walk cycle, it's beautifully animated and that bandages finale is *cheff kiss*. Very smooth I love your style lots Thirdly. Dazai pining in the beginning. I am always down for that.
