Angela's performance is indeed astounding and all-time great but I feel that Holly Hunter's work in The Piano has almost become underrated at this point. ❤ TINA❤ you simply the Best RIP 🙏🏻🕊🙏🏻
I haven’t watched the video yet but I’m so glad to see that you’re back even if temporary. I really appreciate your videos, I’ve learned a lot especially from that Apeshit video. Keep doing the good work.
That means a lot-thank you so much! I hope you enjoy this one too whenever you get a chance.
How did she not get an Oscar for this? Probably the biggest snub in the history of the Oscars. I thought she was Tina growing up!
I actually read the book after watching the film and it's amazing how accurate the book is well done for your strength to both Angela and Tina God bless and rest in peace xx❤
This is why I dont care about the Oscars. They dare snubbed this iconic performance.
Angela's performance is indeed astounding and all-time great but I feel that Holly Hunter's work in The Piano has almost become underrated at this point. Hers is one of the great performances in movie history and at the time, there was no question that she would win. She had one of the most impressive awards sweep in history and pretty much won every single award that year, from Cannes to Bafta to New York etc. It's a pity that both movies had to come out the same year. I'm sure Angela could have easily won if her movie came out one year later
That’s a really fair take. Both were incredible in their own right, and it’s tough when such iconic performances compete in the same year.
I agree. Holly Hunter was mindblowing in "The Piano".
@@the_groove I don't know that I would call Holly Hunter's performance iconic. She was great in the role, but to be honest, who really remembers that movie?
@@robinquinc329 It is one of the best movies directed by a female, you can find this film in many lists
@@robinquinc329 many cinephiles who actually know about art and movies remember the piano, and plus you have to be very ignorant to think that the best acting comes down to popularity, it is not even a question that angela was never gonna win over holly hunter, the tina biopic was entertaining and she was great, but holly hunter was sublime, the best actress oscar is not about who remembers what is about who gave the best performance of the year, and holly hunter did, she does not need iconic labels, she was the best period.
The Piano is one of the best movies of the 90s. So, it’s hard to say Hunter wasn’t deserving.
Definitely, it’s a classic! Both actresses gave such memorable performances that year.
I'd even say "The Piano" is one of the greatest movies of the 20th century and her performance was mindblowning.
I love Angela! She really don’t get enough credit, praise or attention on her amazing acting skills & her ability to make you forget your watching a film 🎥 she brings characters alive & the scene to life! Angela Bassetts is a very talented Amazing actress! When I see Angela is playing in a movie I know it will be amazing, I get lost & forget I’m watching a movie, it’s like I’m watch the real characters life play out in front of me, like I’m watching a reality show of that persons life. If that makes any sense…. I cant put in to words, or find the right words to describe how unbelievably incredible talented Angela Bassetts acting talent is…
In Hollywood if it doesn't show a negative character for a actor they will never win a Oscar
Wow what powerful kind words Tina spoke to her😊
She was so amazing in this film she deserves her flowers 💐
Auntie really bodied this roll 🙌🏾
Some women have performed way less than Angela Bassett and have won an oscar. After watching this video, I became even more upset that she didn't win.
i watched this movie maybe twenty times as a child and the quality of this film still astonishes me as a twenty-something yr old now
They still played in her face bc she should have won in 2023 too. Ain’t no excuse for her to lose to hot dog fingers. She should have won then could have given Jaime Lee the honorary Oscar. Wtf
Did you watch the piano? Holly Hunter deserved the Oscar, if you haven’t watched it, you can’t say “Angela deserved it”
Also while I do think her in black panther was better than sausage fingers, Stephanie Hsu should’ve won
@@davidbrennan5973 Or Kerry Condon, Jamie is actually the fifth among the nominees I would say
She shoud have won the Oscar!!
