I like how the scissors boss literally gives you an advantage by covering his blades. That is literally how a good fight is done; balanced and leveled.
The toads kept saying "you gotta turn it around" but I really question how you could do that since each time he did try it he almost got his 1000 fold arms cut to 500 fold arms
the final bosses literal motivation was basically all the hate for color splash and sticker stars lack of unique character designs (though there were unique personalities in both games)

I get Toad Town but come on, is expected, while the villages that follow also had Toads but on a minor scale only like for the Inns and Shops and few citizens mixed in the forms of child Toads, Toadettes, Koopas Troopas, Bob - Ombs, Yoshis, etc. But a location where they don't seem to belong being full of them? No. Them in a minor scales in a different location (say, Poshley Heights or Petalburg)? Yes. I hope you get what I mean by this.

I love how Tape is the epitome of a New Yorker with the accent. At least the bosses are (at least for the major ones/streamer guardians) original, especially since they are real-life objects, and not just the Koopalings getting their stuff kicked into the curb, for the *n*th time.
They are much better than the Koopalings, but I still wish the chapter bosses were completely original, unique characters rather than just literal objects.
@Ian Corral All the bosses actually make sense in the context if the story. All the bosses relate to the creation of Origami. It would make sense that Olly brought his creators to life to protect the streamers. That's not to say I prefer these bosses.
@@style-g yeah, kersti was terrible compared to Huey and Olivia. I still think Huey is the funniest. Olivia has the behaviour of a little girl, so it's hard to take her seriously sometimes
Kersti lived anyway. So being sad about her death doesn’t matter. Huey, although likable, technically didn’t die. But Olivia, who in my opinion was the most likable out of the three, actually died... she wished all the origami folds never existed... including herself...

"We're missing someone." This broke my heart. It instantly clicked. I've seen complete playthroughs of every paper mario game to date, and... Nothing in any of them made me as sad as that.
That’s what I think makes Olivia’s sacrifice the saddest and hardest-hitting out of all deaths in Paper Mario-the way it’s set up so that it takes a moment, and then the realization just hits you. That, and the fact that she was so innocent and didn’t deserve to die. Oh, and when you take a minute to think about it…she’s actually the only character in the series who’s truly dead and gone for good-Timpani is implied to be living happily with Blumiere somewhere, Kersti was wished back to life, Huey never actually died, and Bobby just popped right back up as a ghost. But Olivia? She basically made herself cease to exist in order to undo everything. There ain’t no coming back for her. She’s gone.
My heart literally broke in half watching that ending. Poor origami bean didn't deserve to die... (very late) EDIT: i was talking about Olivia here, not Olly.
Regarding the Legion of Stationary: Personally, I find the fact that they are just objects to be a stroke of genius. First of all, tsukumogami are always fun when they show up. No ifs, ands, or buts about that. Second of all, it makes perfect sense for beings whose entire existence is papercraft to view things that alter paper as potentially dangerous. Thirdly, the stationary bosses rely on pareidolia as a gimmick. In regards to origami, this makes absolutely perfect sense. Origami is all about inducing pareidolia. When you fold a paper crane, obviously it is not an actual crane, nor could it ever pass for one. However, the shape of a paper crane suggests the anatomical landmarks of a bird, so our minds want see it as a bird. Likewise, a tin of colored pencils is a missle platform, a curled piece of tape becomes a pompadour (and the roll a motorcycle tire), and a stapler is the snapping jaws of a beast. So yeah. The Legion of Stationary are actually really well thought out.
I just realized some of the bosses's names are a mixture of "Elemental" and Vellum, both known for being used as a writing material made from animal skin, and another word for parchment, tying into how they are paper/origami.
In German, they are called "Pergamenton" which is a mixture of Pergament (eng: parchment) and maybe Ton which has different meanings (for examble: clay, stress, tone, shade) but I think they just wanted it to sound cool!
Wait, the thousand cranes............. A girl, struck by radiation from the Hiroshima Bombing, made the thousand cranes. She was never able to finish them before she died, but her family finished what she started, making the last quarter of the thousand cranes. They also buried them along with her. Sometimes,wishes do come true. But you can try so hard to make that come true,only a crowd can do it for you, till their end.
God damn the music in this game is awesome. Aside from that, I got something to say about the ending. While the ending mirrors the past... 2 games, I guess? (Not counting Super Paper Mario, even though yes, I know, Tippi left in the end), I guess this one actually does something right: Portray emotion through the partner we've grown accustomed to throughout the whole game by showing us that she cared for Olly. She wanted to see the good in him... but failed to. So we were forced to help Mario make Olly come to his senses. It is sad to see that they left... but I have a good feeling we'll be seeing her again someday. All that in saying: This is a good game, and while I was spoiled by the bosses being shown here, It only makes me want to play the game more.
King Olly's act to hate all the Toads is relatable enough to the people who hate a new Fire Emblem character rep in Smash. I can say that this is the SPM of SS/CS-styled games (different gameplay from previous 2, but still keeping the core of the previous 2, while make the best story out of the 3). Btw Olivia is a very cute partner ngl

Those who have trouble beating King Olly, here are some tips: For phase 1, remember this: earth beats water, water beats fire, fire beats ice, and ice beats earth For phase 2, you can jump on the shruikins to destroy them but it’s tricky. When Olivia warns you that the Thwomp is about to fall, it’s recommended to move right away. For phase 3, focus on the red area first.
On the Thwomp bit in phase 2, if you feel like you were fast enough, I recommend just trying to get it all the way before it drops. It’s possible, you just need to be quick.

Going to give my opinions on all of those bosses based on my first experience : Earth Vellumental : Pretty easy, and pretty nice for a 1st boss. Colored Pencils : Cool enough, the gimmick is simple but hey ! That's the 2nd boss, i just find that the Rainbow Roll part is really not obvious :/ Water Vellumental : A bit too harsh imo, i can't really tell why however... Rubber Band : Easy, just way too easy, and his final attack is ... meh. Paper Macho Gooper Blooper : Easy but fun ! I wish the fight lasted longer. Mega Paper Macho Pokey : Better than the Blooper one in every way ! Fire Vellumental : Annoying, the fact that he regenerates himself at the last second is annoying. Hole Punch : In terme of the character himself, it's my favorite, but the bossfight himself, unlike many thoughts, is pretty forgettable. Ice Vellumental : A nice challenge, the maze wasn't too annoying (also unlike many thoughts). Tape : Also a nice boss ! But the 1st part was WAYYYYY too easy... Sumo Bro : Dang i hated that fight, especially i didn't knew it was a boss si i didn't saved... And right before there was this horrible maskass quiz (the worst of the three imo). Handaconda : Short, way too shirt, but I think it was a mini boss so i'll accept that. Paper Mistake Buzzy Beetle : Kamek is sticking too much at this macho monstruosity. And it's annoying when right after that you fight a boss that can one-shot you... It's still decent ! Scissors : Nice fight, I love how that last "object boss" can one-shot you ! But after that, the rest is ... yeah... easy. Paper Squadron : I do not consider that as a boss, but anyways, it was fun, ngl. Stapler : Very Simple, yet one of my favorites ! :) Olly Phase 1 : Buffed Vellumentals, not original, but still fun to fight ! Olly Phase 2 : More funny than anything, but it was decent. Olly Phase 3 : Epic, just wow. Please don't be in anger or anything, and tell me your thoughs about those awesome bosses :D

@@plushadventures5886 PiT technically, as Elder Princess Shroob is the last actual boss battle and Shrowser is more of an extra, as you can't actually attack, only counter. And also BiS technically because you're actually playing as Bowser in the game and the final boss looks like Bowser but is actually a completely different entity.
In SMRPG, TTYD, SPM, M&LRPG, PiT (Queen Shroob is the final boss, fight me) and BIS, Bowser isn't the final boss. He plays a role in every game, but he isn't always the final boss. In fact, I want to point out Dream Team, where Bowser overpowered Antasma when he said that he was using Bowser, ending in Bowser not being fooled and fooling another antagonist for once.
1:46:31 I love how in the bottom left corner of the screen a toad is saying "I call this roshambo". For those of you who don't know, roshambo is a game mostly played by us guys where we hit one another in the nuts full force until the other collapses from pain.

I love how all of the bosses (except for the vellumentals) don’t have mouths but are still able to somehow talk. I know, it’s a video game. It doesn’t have to make sense. Like, Mario goes into paintings and nobody questions it.

To all the people who are having a tough time with scissors, keep in mind he will keep his cover until at half of his hp (unless you attack the cover), before that, jump when the cover is down, and attack with a hammer when the cover is up
Earth Vellumental: Simple and easy, a good introduction to the boss system. Pencils: Still easy, but adds more depth to the fight. Water Vellumental: Still easy, but more stuff to watch out for, and introduces powerful attacks to prepare for. Rubber Bands: A little confusing, and getting the final hit can be tough. Gooper Blooper: Simple, and a refreshing change of pace. Pokey: Feels very random at times, lose the car and you’re done. Fire Vellumental: Much harder than the previous battles, you have to actually start thinking now. Hole punch: Average difficulty, but amazing build up. Best boss in the game imo. Ice Vellumental: A little tough, but easier than the last two. The ice maze can be pretty unforgiving. Tape: Probably the worst boss in the game. Like it’s dungeon, it’s very quick and easy with little buildup, but with great character and music. Sumo Bros: Really enjoyed this battle. Great atmosphere and mechanics, just wished it was longer. Handaconda: Odd, but cool. Don’t have much to say on this one. Paper Mistake: Not much of a battle, but it was a nifty time-waster. Scissors: Second-hardest boss in the game. A lack of ingenuity and puzzles gives way to a nail-biting test of reflexes with great buildup. Paper squadron: Again, not much of a boss, but it was fun at least. Stapler: Not too difficult or easy, a nice challenge before the finale. Olly: The hardest boss simply for the final phase. The first phase is a little overwhelming with many different patterns to learn under a small amount of time, and the second phase is strange, but easy enough if you don’t end up breaking your arms. But the final phase took me way too many tries to get it, and it’s almost insulting once you finally realise the puzzle isn’t that hard. It do be epic tho.

Regarding the Legion of Stationary: Personally, I find the fact that they are just objects to be a stroke of genius.
First of all, tsukumogami are always fun when they show up. No ifs, ands, or buts about that.
Second of all, it makes perfect sense for beings whose entire existence is papercraft to view things that alter paper as potentially dangerous.
Thirdly, the stationary bosses rely on pareidolia as a gimmick. In regards to origami, this makes absolutely perfect sense. Origami is all about inducing pareidolia. When you fold a paper crane, obviously it is not an actual crane, nor could it ever pass for one. However, the shape of a paper crane suggests the anatomical landmarks of a bird, so our minds want see it as a bird. Likewise, a tin of colored pencils is a missle platform, a curled piece of tape becomes a pompadour (and the roll a motorcycle tire), and a stapler is the snapping jaws of a beast.
So yeah. The Legion of Stationary are actually really well thought out.
They use to be normal office tools.

I just realized some of the bosses's names are a mixture of "Elemental" and Vellum, both known for being used as a writing material made from animal skin, and another word for parchment, tying into how they are paper/origami.
In Spanish, they are called “Papelementales” Which is a mixture of “Papel” (Spanish for paper) and Elemental, which is the same word.
In German, they are called "Pergamenton" which is a mixture of Pergament (eng: parchment) and maybe Ton which has different meanings (for examble: clay, stress, tone, shade) but I think they just wanted it to sound cool!

God damn the music in this game is awesome. Aside from that, I got something to say about the ending. While the ending mirrors the past... 2 games, I guess? (Not counting Super Paper Mario, even though yes, I know, Tippi left in the end), I guess this one actually does something right: Portray emotion through the partner we've grown accustomed to throughout the whole game by showing us that she cared for Olly. She wanted to see the good in him... but failed to. So we were forced to help Mario make Olly come to his senses. It is sad to see that they left... but I have a good feeling we'll be seeing her again someday. All that in saying: This is a good game, and while I was spoiled by the bosses being shown here, It only makes me want to play the game more.
King Olly's act to hate all the Toads is relatable enough to the people who hate a new Fire Emblem character rep in Smash.
I can say that this is the SPM of SS/CS-styled games (different gameplay from previous 2, but still keeping the core of the previous 2, while make the best story out of the 3).

Those who have trouble beating King Olly, here are some tips:
For phase 1, remember this: earth beats water, water beats fire, fire beats ice, and ice beats earth
For phase 2, you can jump on the shruikins to destroy them but it’s tricky. When Olivia warns you that the Thwomp is about to fall, it’s recommended to move right away.
For phase 3, focus on the red area first.
Phase 1: Pokémon
On the Thwomp bit in phase 2, if you feel like you were fast enough, I recommend just trying to get it all the way before it drops. It’s possible, you just need to be quick.

Going to give my opinions on all of those bosses based on my first experience :
Earth Vellumental : Pretty easy, and pretty nice for a 1st boss.
Colored Pencils : Cool enough, the gimmick is simple but hey ! That's the 2nd boss, i just find that the Rainbow Roll part is really not obvious :/
Water Vellumental : A bit too harsh imo, i can't really tell why however...
Rubber Band : Easy, just way too easy, and his final attack is ... meh.
Paper Macho Gooper Blooper : Easy but fun ! I wish the fight lasted longer.
Mega Paper Macho Pokey : Better than the Blooper one in every way !
Fire Vellumental : Annoying, the fact that he regenerates himself at the last second is annoying.
Hole Punch : In terme of the character himself, it's my favorite, but the bossfight himself, unlike many thoughts, is pretty forgettable.
Ice Vellumental : A nice challenge, the maze wasn't too annoying (also unlike many thoughts).
Tape : Also a nice boss ! But the 1st part was WAYYYYY too easy...
Sumo Bro : Dang i hated that fight, especially i didn't knew it was a boss si i didn't saved... And right before there was this horrible maskass quiz (the worst of the three imo).
Handaconda : Short, way too shirt, but I think it was a mini boss so i'll accept that.
Paper Mistake Buzzy Beetle : Kamek is sticking too much at this macho monstruosity. And it's annoying when right after that you fight a boss that can one-shot you... It's still decent !
Scissors : Nice fight, I love how that last "object boss" can one-shot you ! But after that, the rest is ... yeah... easy.
Paper Squadron : I do not consider that as a boss, but anyways, it was fun, ngl.
Stapler : Very Simple, yet one of my favorites ! :)
Olly Phase 1 : Buffed Vellumentals, not original, but still fun to fight !

And also BiS technically because you're actually playing as Bowser in the game and the final boss looks like Bowser but is actually a completely different entity.

He plays a role in every game, but he isn't always the final boss. In fact, I want to point out Dream Team, where Bowser overpowered Antasma when he said that he was using Bowser, ending in Bowser not being fooled and fooling another antagonist for once.

To all the people who are having a tough time with scissors, keep in mind he will keep his cover until at half of his hp (unless you attack the cover), before that, jump when the cover is down, and attack with a hammer when the cover is up
Or go straight for 1000-Fold Arms if you’re going for a No-Damage run.

Not bad! Clearly pretty creative.
Also, never thought the theme of COLORED PENCILS woyld be so awesome!
Earth Vellumental: Simple and easy, a good introduction to the boss system.
Pencils: Still easy, but adds more depth to the fight.
Water Vellumental: Still easy, but more stuff to watch out for, and introduces powerful attacks to prepare for.
Rubber Bands: A little confusing, and getting the final hit can be tough.
Gooper Blooper: Simple, and a refreshing change of pace.
Pokey: Feels very random at times, lose the car and you’re done.
Fire Vellumental: Much harder than the previous battles, you have to actually start thinking now.
Hole punch: Average difficulty, but amazing build up. Best boss in the game imo.
Ice Vellumental: A little tough, but easier than the last two. The ice maze can be pretty unforgiving.
Tape: Probably the worst boss in the game. Like it’s dungeon, it’s very quick and easy with little buildup, but with great character and music.
Sumo Bros: Really enjoyed this battle. Great atmosphere and mechanics, just wished it was longer.
Handaconda: Odd, but cool. Don’t have much to say on this one.
Paper Mistake: Not much of a battle, but it was a nifty time-waster.
Scissors: Second-hardest boss in the game. A lack of ingenuity and puzzles gives way to a nail-biting test of reflexes with great buildup.
Paper squadron: Again, not much of a boss, but it was fun at least.
Stapler: Not too difficult or easy, a nice challenge before the finale.
Olly: The hardest boss simply for the final phase. The first phase is a little overwhelming with many different patterns to learn under a small amount of time, and the second phase is strange, but easy enough if you don’t end up breaking your arms. But the final phase took me way too many tries to get it, and it’s almost insulting once you finally realise the puzzle isn’t that hard. It do be epic tho.
But even if you lose your car from the fight with the giant pokey, you can blow your whistle and it comes back
