I came really close to ordering a Mustang ll fastback with the Cobra package in White. Then the salesman crushed my dreams when he told me that "no Farah was not included".
Really nice car! I have 77 cobra with V8 too! I've been restoring it as a whole for 3 years, but it was so worth 😊 I wish you will have time to fully restore it!:)
@@Gariandjulie I have a 71 Shelby europa mustang people say is not really a mustang and is when mustang got ugly but they forget the boss 351 rare and good
Thanks a lot! I took out the emission pump so my exhaust doesn’t backfire anymore, so thats a little shame sound-wise, but runs and drives amazing now! As the weather gets better I will surely do some kind of raw exhaust driving video!
It's a great start out ,I'm from Florida and I can see the effort and care you are putting into this COBRA-2 ,, exciting project for sure ,, the racing mods should turn out great ,,,the roll cage sounds great , show us again after it's installed in a later video ,,, awesome work so far ,,good video man ,,, 😎👍
There is guy in Alabama that has a field full of these cars. He has a lot of these cosmetic parts you may want. Like that front bumper. Think the shop is called Phills Mustang II or something. The wheels should have black ring around the outer lip. Don't get rid of them. They are super hard to find. Good luck getting it where you want it enjoy the car it's still cool. The grill should have a snake in it to instead of a pony. That's gonna be a real hard part to find. Don't worry about making it fast. The problems in the rear end gear size and rear tire size. Just make it look cool. The engine is a 2 valve v8 aswell, it will only get you so far if your looking for power. It just won't get it in and out fast enough. The front wheel won't get bigger with out rolling the body. It won't hold a 14inch wheel with tire without rubbing when you turn. Plus it's super hard to find wheels with the 4 lug pattern you can get a 5 lug conversion kit and then you could put anything on it in the rear.
Thanks for the amazing comment and tips! Will surely do something with it! I already got some nice 15” 4lug wheels which I will be mounting soon, will make a video about it shortly, a lot has changed since this video!
@@Gariandjulie The guy that has a lot of the beauty parts for this car is named Phil Schmidt. The Bussiness is called Phill's Mustang II speciality shop. You can look him up in the internet.
Nice, I've got my 76 still waiting, its same color and engine but I was lucky enough to have the badge package with mine but I see you have the cobra door cards like mine. LOL our exhaust comes out at the same illegal spot. Since the back windows open you are not legally allowed to dump exhaust out before/under that area but who knows that window opens LOL.
Love that Mustang...one thing about a V6 engine, take it from an old school Buick guy, a single exhaust makes more power on those kinds of engines, if you're dead set on the duals, they need to be a very small diameter like 2 inches. Did you block the heat risers when you had to intake off? Also if you haven't yet, get a new distributor, it makes a world of difference. Cold thermostat? Advance curve kit? Steeper gears?
I have a ( not a fastback ) 76 Mustang also it’s a V6, 4 speed amazing how it runs also it also has power brakes and power steering soon it will have A/C out of my 77 Giha v6 auto parts car I have owned 64 1/2 4 speed 289 K code v8 Mustang Ps & a/c had 10 year needed paint little things kept breaking, I sold it in 85 for $4000.00 good money at the time . Wish I didn’t sell it !!!! We bought anew 2016 V6 automatic Mustang in 2016 it’s no GT but amazingly it’s very good and get 30 plus mpg on the highway at speeds around 75-85 mph by the way I live in California still have to smog 76 and newer cars every other year I like your car it’s nice good video I’m 66 years old I now like Quite free flowing exhaust so I can talk to the person next to me and maybe even the radio.
Mooi werk man, tot nu toe... Ik heb zelf een '74 Mustang II en ervaar er ook wat uitdagingen mee. Maar vooral waterlekkage en olie-lekkages. Ik vind die Mustang II's toch best wat hebben.
I traded a 1972 Mach 1 in on one of these in 1976. 302, automatic. Blue with white stripes, blue interior. Unfortunately it DRANK oil (I was putting in a quart every 1000 miles, no mechanic could figure out why it used so much oil).
Everything from the doors back looks great on these styling wise. From the cowl forward it just looks too damn heavy. Overall length on the ll's is just about the same as the 64-1/2's.
I only have an issue with the doors, they hang a bit low, I think the part where the door attaches bended a bit over the years But other than that its a good body indeed!
I really like your car. I have always been a fan of the Mustang II and the Pinto. I was a teenager when both came out. I currently have a 1972 Pinto, which has exactly the same wheels as your Mustang. I remember them being a factory option. They are 13" I am having a terrible time finding tires. Seems the only 13" tires available are trailer tires. Do you have any idea where you can get 13" tires?
Amazing to hear your story! As for tires, here in Belgium we do have good websites with lots of tire options, but can’t help oversees unfortunately 😅 i got 15” wheels on the car not too long ago partly to find better tires for better prices
Will do! Got new wheels and spacer on at the moment so the Rear is 13cm wider (end of wheel till end of wheel) already and the front 12cm! Still want to go wider in the back tho
The design of this car was pretty decent but just the fact it was the same chassis as the Pinto was just a deal breaker. Everything even the V8 they offered was just a disappointment…With that nice look they could of made something special but that fuel crisis just ruined the true meaning of muscle…
Mustang IIs are pretty great cars, people shit on them for whatever reason but they're leagues better than the obese barges from the early 70s and once you desmog the Mustang IIs they can really move.
They were certainly much better handling cars than the first Gen Mustangs. For me they just never looked right, the proportions of the car made it look like a cheap economy car. Yes, I know the original 65 was just a re-skinned Falcon (cheap economy car) but the Ford stylists did a much better job of hiding the 65 model's heritage than they managed with the 1974 model. It was very obvious that the 1974 car was based on the Pinto, it looked cheap and nasty. Check this video ruclips.net/video/PGoZlICY_6Q/видео.html This guy took a Mustang II, stretched the wheelbase, widened the car and opened up the wheel arches. It's not that much bigger than the Mustang II, but now the proportions completely transform the look of the car. The Mustang II should have looked more like this, than what they actually built.
Thanks for keeping the mustang 2 alive, good luck with your restoration

Good luck with the build bro! I'd be careful with spraying that V6. They are not meant to handle tons of power so be careful. Good luck!
