Nice to hear that you will take care of your friends that way by staying late on Friday and doing the diagnosis for him. I hope he doesn't get a Dorman replacement part !!
Are the Dorman ones bad like that’s a issue? I have replaced mine 3 times now and after a month the light is back on. I replaced the sensor on the grill shutters and still have a light. It’s not like the light is immediately back on either could be a month or 2 and then issue comes back. Idk what to do! the main plug has been tested and is good I’m sick of tearing this about have like 6 times in a year! 2017 Chevy Silverado btw Did your light ever return
Thank you for your service! Helpful video. I just got a 2017 z71 basically for free from a relative. Needs a lot of work done though. But hey I’m up for it.
Sometimes the meter that you have will filter out the varying voltage. So as long as you have voltage, you should have communication. I would lean towards faulty shutters.
Sometimes according to what it is Identifix is pretty slow in getting wiring diagrams. It’s pretty easy to request one but I would’ve probably had to wait until Monday to receive it.

Thanks! No, fortunately he has already ordered it from the GM dealership!

Thanks! Good luck with the truck!
Extremely helpful thank you sir!
Awesome thank you for the feedback!!
Pin 3 had active voltage, but it was not variable voltage. Any clue what that means and what I should test next?

If you up grade the thermostat to 180. Would it mess the grill shutters?
I don’t know for sure to be perfectly honest with you
So new?? It’s 7 years old wonder why you can’t get a wiring diagram
