rightly said. This can be cross checked by removing the bottom weld and running a simulation, in this case the component will start to penetrate. Fortunately, i was able to find a link performing this analysis. Please refer to 13:45 in below video.

If you are using contacts then you must have done Non-Linear Contact Analysis
Talk less and show more. Try to solve a problem with FEA rather than show what Creo Simulate can do.
