Amazing animation. The behavior of the joint is really like the springs!
wish had seen this 10yr ago during structural course! thanks for vid - really good work.
Fantastic video. Excellent and accurate animation with well presented context. I am quite envious of your skills.
After watching more than 5 times i got the compressive force and tensile force acting on the combine system
Thank u
The image at 54 seconds in is very good. It shows the force traveling down the bolt to the threads and then doing a 180-degree turn upward. Very helpful in understanding.
compression interact with elongation ;)
Guys! great job! Thanks for sharing
Great I finally understood
Beautiful video. I never got how a bolt/hut can be in tension, but, of course! If the two pieces of metal held together are compressing upon one another they are also compressing against the bolt head/nut surface, to counteract that force there is a tensile force in the shaft of the bolt. Duh! You made it so easy.
Thank you. I am glad it helps so many people to understand it
Essentially, part of the external load is taken by a reduction in the clamping force rather than an increase in the bolt's tension
Very well made and very informative. Hereby the HYTORC Seal of Approval! :)
Thank you! It helped with my project lol
BFont, in the wild. Amazing!
Right!
This is awasome, why you don't making more something like this stuff in blender?
Awesome! Haven't had Mechanics of Materials yet (taking it next semester) but this helped a lot with my understanding or bolt tension and compression.
Love the music too. (Was sad when it came to an abrupt halt).
+Tim Morrison What is the name of that song?
yo the music is so freaking lit
Thanks for your help
Nice!
very nice animation but few points. You do not want to have threads in bearing. Also the shank must touch the hole in order to have shear load path. The Tension load [seperation] should have been applied to the parts first for animation purposes.

97 Jeep Wrangler has a body frame bolt that is not coming loose. Wanted to install step bars using these mount bolts. My question: is there a new trick to getting these frozen bolts to come out? I know about heat and liquid wrench, but I can't get to the bolt to apply either where it is needed. This was a great clip btw.
All perfectly valid of course but would it be possible to incorporate effects of material hardness which drives the need for hard washers to distribute load and avoid relaxation over time.
Usually in a bolted joint like this, the distribution of load in the pieces bolted together is assumed to be conical, not cylindrical. This changes the stiffness of the materials when compressing.
True, this animation does not show the correct area load distribution in the compressed material
Many thanks for creating such an excellent video, can I use it in my presentations?
Yes, feel free to use it as you like
Beautifully explained...
Beauty.
Science is awesome!
this is not science, this is engineering
Very good indeed. May I use your video in my presentation?
yes, of course!
Keep watching this ❤ lovely ….
Would you be interested in doing similar contract work?
Thanks bro
best..
Very nice
Found its shortcomings on plank scale hooks law so we found its true strengths on atomic level
nice video. but i guess the compressive force should not be F/2. rather it should be F on each side.
Say plz what a sountrack in this video? I can't find it..
It's from RUclips audio swap. But actually: Barrie Gledden - Heat (2)
May I use your video in an online learning course I am hoping to host please?
Do it! 🤗
@@MGINEER3D Thanks very much indeed Sir/ Madam 🙂
How to simulate the same in Abaqus.. anyone?
Make animations on aniroid barometer so it's true energy efficiency find out
As it's size increased gradually ?
We get rid of energy crisis in few days all over the world and become energy indipendant
Hello I would like to be able to contact you

Great animation, shit music! An auditory discussion would be better to explain with visuals! Also, you should have shown working limits for stationary bost tensioning, like in builds and bridges vs. removable bolt tension like lug nut on car wheels!
Why did you stop making videos?!
These animations were done during my studies in mechanical engineering when I had more time than now.😅 👨👩👧👧. But new videos will come soon.
@@MGINEER3D I am a mechanical engineer too! Did my masters in FEM, now working in structural design. Let me know if I can help!
