Love the fact he is all up in her face talking about his girl, without knowing that she sits right in front of him. But when she kisses him, he doesn't hold back. He is just dreaming so much of her he feels her true this kiss...

He didn't know she was a girl ,otherwise why would he have said "Lady?" to the boatman in a quizzical voice. He sure didn't pull back from the kiss though which makes me wonder if he was bisexual.
Someone else wrote it. The studio hired Tom Stoppard to do a re-wrote and he cleaned up the dialogue and made enough changes that it warranted him being credited as a co-writer. Stoppard said himself he only did it as a gig for money. Script re-writes (Script Doctor) pays quite a lot and many studios enlist renown playwrights like Stoppard and it’s an easy $500,000 of work, sometimes upwards of a million dollars.
At 1:43. U will find the exact same thing you said has been said by Viola! The director already knew what you were talking about ! She says that the " lady viola is wise to stay away from you because she couldn't possibly live up to your description of her because her eyes and may not be any different than mine" understand the meaning beneath the layers my friend lol.
And where is Gywenth Paltrow Now? Forgotten. --That's what you get for being in a movie whose script was stolen from other writers. Marc Norman, the supposed "writer" of the script, hasn't made another movie since.

+Nsha76 lol
Even centuries ago, men know a great rack is a great rack
That booty is driving him crazy. Get that bosom homie
He loves her lips so much he can't recognize them.🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is so beautiful about how he speaks of her. He kinda looks like Prince to me.
That ain't no man! You can see her real hair right there!
Hey, I got you! You on Candid Camera now!
“Do you mind!”
I knew I would find this comment 😂😂
God they are both so good looking! this movie is a feast for the eyes and ears.
So, so many great scenes. Gwyneth was absolutely fantastic portraying herself as the Lady's nephew.
This movie is one of my favorites. Love it
ROW YA BOAT
Joseph Fiennes is DIVINE!
2:36 Did I just turn gay?
How did no one suspect that Thomas was a woman? I've never met a grown man with that high of a voice.
I have a high voice
In those days young teenaged boys played lady's parts. So the voice is not that curious.

THAT AIN'T TO MAN, YOU CAN SEE HER HAIR RIGHT THERE!
Shakespeare in Heat would have been a better title.
I almost feel like he does know, but he is pretending not to so that he can keep talking about her.
Best movie ever! I'm in love with Joseph Fiennes
"Love knows nothing of rank, nor riverbank" ...very true 👍 ✔
I love this movie.
But wow--how, after this exchange, are they not impulsively ploughing each other on the boat?
I agree...Remember, Tom Stoppard wrote the screenplay....That should tell you everything you need to know!

This is an excellent movie. Don't miss it! People are simply trashing it because it beat "Saving Private Ryan" for the Best Picture Academy Award.
and because ppl believe Gwyneth Paltrow stole Cate Blanchett's Best Actress award too (Elizabeth)
cookiezxoxo she did
Harvey Weinstein got Gwyneth the Oscar when Cate DESERVED it. That's the conflict.
Deserve the oscar beautiful movie
This scene reminds me a lot of Twelfth Night.
That moment where Brenda is loudly commenting in the 🎥 and recording it on 📷.
"THAT AIN;T NO MAN!"
Lol, his face "...Lady?" xD
Maravillosa Gwyneth.
WAS SHE WEEPING WHEN SHE GAVE YOU THIS
I wish you had the scene where Lord Wessex is telling Viola that they're to marry. It's such a classic.
that was magical
i love this movie

wow Commander Waterford!
that was beautiful..
“…love knows nothing of rank or riverbank” that’s so gangsta.
She's filming Iron Man 3, which may not be much to you. For the the many others, well.....
Gweneth Paltrow stole this part from Wynona Rider.
It's real story
Who's the actor who row the boat? He's really similar to Stoppard himself...
"Oh, she sings too?" facepalm
Iron man? 1, 2 & 3?!
