Thank you, this is the most calm relaxing and informative wood video I’ve ever seen, I’ve been a cabinet maker for 43 years and just learned a lot in a 15 minute video, please keep making more.
Hey Jim! Thank you so much for that! I'm learning how to be myself on camera as well as give the insight I've learned so your comments mean a lot! Thanks for watching and have a good one!
Thank you so much on everything! If you decide to try the board out let me know if you have any questions! And 20 months now! Crazy how time flies by! Hope you have a good weekend!
Thank you so much. Yeah she’s 15 months now and a firecracker! Haha. And of course glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for watching. If you try it out and run into any issues email me! Sammy@toguchifurniture.com
Thanks Patrick I'm super happy you liked it! I really appreciate it! Trying to learn how to edit better and tell a story is hard but glad it's paying off! ✋🏼
Excellent craftmanship. i am just about to start making cutting boards serving trays and coaster. i use to make custom horizontal bee hives that shipped all over the world. was watching some videos of glue up stations were you can glue up several long lengths at a time. so i put in a order for two set of them. would be interesting to see what you all pay per board ft compared to my location. i use the standard woods like walnnut ,maple ,cherry ,purple heart, yellow heart, cannery, padauck and zebra wood for now/ waiting of a drum sander that should be here in a week, but i can finish getting the shop ready and begin ripping down some boards since i picked up a glue line rip saw also..going to follow your diamon layout but would like to add a row on each side of smaller diamons like the one i saw in your video. that one is bad ass fantastic.
Awesome, I really appreciate that! Glad you liked the video and more excited you'll be trying it out! good luck with the smaller diamonds, those can be tricky due to how small they are. But, if you can pull it off they definitely add some character to the board! What glue station are you talking about? The only ones I know are the massive ones where you can do 8ft+ glue ups haha. And you work with some nice wood! I haven't seen Yellow Heart and Canary up here in years! I've only worked with them once but love them. The last time I went to the lumber store 4/4 walnut was like $16.52 or something. That seems insane to me! Anyway, Let me know if you have any questions on the diamond board. I hope I was thorough enough in my write up! Thanks again for writing and watching, really appreciate that! Sammy
Awesome I appreciate that! I have a free how to on my site too. Hopefully that’s helpful as well! But it’s a good way to get rid of your scraps! Good luck and if you have any questions let me know!
Excellent boards! I didn’t know about the sanding in aggressive mode with higher grits either. Subscribed! Keep up the good work. 👍🏼 And congratulations on the birth of your daughter!
Congratulations Sammy and Mama Toguchi on the birth of your baby girl! Great job on the content, and the added humor. ☮️💟 from Virginia Beach, Virginia
Thanks Jeff! I appreciate that. If you decide to make them and follow my website instructions. Let me know if I need to clarify anything. It was my first build plan. Thanks again for watching and good luck!
Awwww thank you! I’m glad you watching. I always try to improve my style so it’s informative and trying to pry out my sense of humor at the same time 😅
Nice work, job well done. Just a suggestion, l have changed from burning my logo to engraving with a diode laser, the results are way better, and lazers are not to expensive now.
Thank you so much! Yeah I hear you on the laser. I actually do have a CO2 laser which I do my logos with. I guess I didn’t show that part. I don’t even use my branding iron anymore because it looks awful compared to my laser.
Greetings from Australia.. Great cutting board and good length video. I have subscribed and will watch a few more of your videos. Regards James One Handed Maker.
Hey James! That’s so awesome I really appreciate that! I’ll check out your account as well! But let me know if you ever make one of these boards! I appreciate your kind words again thanks James!
Hi! Thank you so much for watching and your comment/interest! Since I can’t paste a link in here. I have the link to my how to guide in the video description. It has the starting dimensions and final dimensions. Let me know if you have any other questions and let me know how it turns out! Thank you again!
@ToguchiFurniture I'm definitely going to give it a try. The ones people like are the ones you make just screwing off. Never thought I'd have to recreate lol
Haha, that's how it was for me then I foolishly said yes to the next person not realizing I couldn't 🤣 but glad it worked out! Send me pics or whatever when you get yours done or feel free to ask questions!
Your videos deserves more attention then they are getting. the only thing I would recommend working on would be your thumbnails everything else is very well done and entertaining
Thank you I really appreciate that! I’ve been having a hard time with thumbnails. I haven’t “found” my style and I overthink it but I’ll keep working at it! Thanks for the input! And thanks for watching and enjoying my videos!
Hi thanks for writing! Sorry about the confusion. I’ll correct it when I get home. But 4/4 is 4 quarters thickness. That’s how I get my lumber here in Alaska. However, it comes in a little thinner than 1” thickness. I hope that helps! And thank you for watching and trying it out! Sammy

Where do you buy your lumber?
Are you in Anchorage? I buy mine locally at Hardware Specialties. It’s basically the only place in town that sells hardwoods.
How much do you sell your boards for?
It depends on the size but the ones in these videos were $325-375. Thanks for watching William!
Hi guys - what does this mean in the plans for cut list. . . (4x4) i.e. 10 strips of Cherry @ 23”L x 1 ⅜”W x (4/4)
