    Nice to see another UK review of the Shogun Sport and a great pity that Mitsu are not importing any more cars to Europe. The price of these was reduced to £29K for the SSp3 and only a couple of grand more for the top of the range SSp4 so the value for money is fantastic. I doubt if many buyers of this type of vehicle are that concerned about fuel economy. What this vehicle offers is real off road capability and great towing capacity - there is simply nothing like it at the price. I am really enjoying mine - its very well built, no squeaks or rattles and everything works. The 8 speed transmission with High and Low range and locking diffs is excellent off road or towing, plus the ability to be driven all the time in 4 wheel drive on tarmac makes it a highly capable vehicle for poor road conditions. A fitting last Mitsubishi Shogun Sport.

    • @TheAutoDad

      Those prices really are fantastic! Agreed, a fitting farewell - hopefully not for too long!

    • @MarthaMansbridge
      @MarthaMansbridge 3 года назад

      And now c.£28k for the 4 - new! though apparently they're Australian spec cars that are currently coming into the UK (not sure what the difference is other that Australia now has the facelift versions) but suggests The Colt Car Company in the UK are trying to shift as many as they can before September 2021 when the can no longer sell new vehicles into the market. Truly astonishing value - 5 year warranty and 3 years free servicing!

      @@MarthaMansbridge Now seeing them at £27k new for the 4 and hopefully get a bit off that! Only a few months ago they were about that price for a 1 year old one with 5-10k on the clock. I am concerned though that I would get one and the facelift comes in.

      @@ln5747 just bought one myself. They won’t be bringing the facelift here but even if they did - it’s hardly different enough to feel bad about getting a car at c.£27k that was nearly £40k when launched 3 years ago.

      I am off road enthusiast and research now for another different car. Found your review after others in RUclips and you was very honest. Problem with this car is rust for some one like me who build overland vehicle and hold car for around 6 year to keep the build cost effective. I found few examples for £25000 year 2021 and all of them have already really bad rust on frame and welding pints of suspension mounts. My Nissan patrol from 2011 has less rust than almost new Mitsubishi

    At last a proper UK review of this fantastic car. Id really like one of these later this year but I haven’t got the lifestyle to justify one at the moment, yet it would do anything and everything you could ever need from a car. I don’t do many miles either at the moment so there is always the fear that the DPF will have issues but yet physically, this car could last me at least 10 to 15 years, thats the plan. Thats the conundrum. My other choice is the Subaru Outback, and being petrol, no DPF worries plus similar economy and ability to last many many years. Same sort of price as well. Hard choice.

    Really good review by someone who gets what the shogun sport is all about! Had mine for over a year for towing a large horse box dose everything really well. Big shame they are going to stop bringing them to the UK as nothing is close for the price or the offroad ability and has a 5year warranty. But Wouldn't put me off buying one now as they have to support them for at least 10 years and we get the Australian spec anyway over here so you would always be able to import parts in the future. Just collected my brand new Shogun Sport 4 - identical to this one. £27,500 - brand new, 5 year warranty, 3 years servicing. Obviously this is due to Mitsubishi leaving the U.K. market but when launched in 2018, this car was nearly £40k - its awesome if you appreciate a proper 4X4 that isn’t trying to be all glitzy and luxurious. I could’ve had that by paying twice the price for a mid spec Defender. Anyone thinking about a Shogun Sport - get in there fast before it’s too late.

    • @TheAutoDad
      @TheAutoDad  3 года назад +2

      Whilst dealerships are closing, there will be no shortage of parts or after-care. Specialists, like MitsiArt, have been supporting the community for years and will continue to do so until there physically aren't any on the road. :)

    • @PleiadesOfBirdham
      @PleiadesOfBirdham 3 года назад +1

      Its a pity they are not importing any more cars into Europe but the Colt Car Company (the UK importer) has 300,000 Mitsubishis on UK roads to look after, which will be a nice earner for servicing and parts for years. The Sport shares much of the mechanicals with the very popular L200 so there will be plenty of UK mechanics familiar with the basics.

    • @PleiadesOfBirdham
      @PleiadesOfBirdham 3 года назад +1

      There is a 10 year legal obligation to supply parts in UK but apart from that there are hundreds of thousands of Mitsu's on UK roads which will be a steady earner for parts supply. The Colt Car Company (Mitsu UK) is owned by the Mitsu Corporation so they want the income stream years ahead - as much money in that as actually selling them. 5 year warranty and 5 year service plan available so it's not a huge risk.

    • @ln5747
      @ln5747 3 года назад

      So if you have an issue under warranty who will provide repair and labour? And provide the service plan? I guess this could be an issue and may suggest the big price reduction. Surely they have a legal obligation to continue providing this.

    • @PleiadesOfBirdham
      @PleiadesOfBirdham 3 года назад +1

      @@ln5747 apart from whatever Contract is provided by Mitsu UK - 5 year warranty etc there is a legal obligation on new car suppliers in UK to cover parts supply for 10 years. Mitsu Australia offer a 10 year warranty on their sales if Serviced by Mitsu garage so the company has faith in the Engineering.

    These seem to have gone back up in value the last few months. I was seriously considering one about 6 months ago and you could pick up a new one (top spec 4) for about £27/28k but now one or two year old used ones are that.
