I had a 2008 Impreza hatchback and we got about 10 inches of snow. The clearance was low as it is, but was able to get to work without absolutely no problems. They didn't even plow my road and to see how well it went in the snow. I stopped and started up without spinning. When I got to work the snow was so deep it was coming up over the hood. I made it with no problems. 4 weeks ago we bought a 2020 Outback and Love it.
I’m going to try this in my parent’s driveway. It has a bit of a grade and when I back out, the engine revs and then I shoot backwards. Maybe I gotta x mode it every time!
when lock 4 wheel with x mode, in the high way you ll be hard/difficult to turn right/left and the tyre is stressing. you may use it in high way when rain ...
Bought a forester with this.. not gonna lie it seems kinda gimmicky. I came here because I wanted to know what it did. It has a low gear for that and you can just ya know drive.... slowly.
Not really. I got stuck in my '24 Outback in deep sand. The left front and right rear were hanging in the air. I tried digging it out, putting tree branches under the wheels. I've recovered myself many times before, but could not get it out til I used XMode. When I engaged it, the wheels started spinning again, but when I was assertive with the gas pedal, it easily pulled itself out of the hole I'd dug.

I got 2020 crosstrek and Learned something new!😅😅
Why did you not show actually engaging the xmode. my version has two switches and I want to know when to engage
ya seriously, I got on here to figure out where the button is and exactly how to use it...
@@crystallawrence131 I don't think I have one?
I was able to figure it out. What year do you have? They are only on the past 5 or 6 years@@Tom-ld9hp
@@crystallawrence131 My mistake. I have the legacy.
I really wish you guys had put dual x mode on the limited.
I think dual x mode apply on Limited OUTBACK
Where's the button to engage x mode ? Why didn't you show it
Looks like somone had to piss behind the car. Not dog piss there lol
Reminds me of an old saying "Never eat yellow snow"
Hilarious catch!
it may work to overcome the uber sensitive gas pedal on reverse.

Does X mode only engage when you are traveling at 32 kmh or less? Any benefit to highway speeds?
XMode is ONLY for low speed, traction control situations, like in deep snow, off road trail. There is no benefit or use at highway speeds.

@@sasuipunhu31 it still has open diffs, there is not going to be any gear binding or tire scrubbing even X-Mode could be activated at higher speeds.
It disengages at highway speeds
I have a 6spd manual Crosstrek - no such thing exists on my car 🤙
2020 ?

It's not a gimmick it will actually brake each wheel individually to prevent excessive slip. You can't do that with the brake pedal.
Can/should you use xmode on snowy highways when going 40km plus??
You can’t it turn off and goes back to normal at 25 km
@@williamsproulx990 So it's just for when you are stuck basically?
Going slow... it's called idling.
The X- mode only works at or below 20mph.
Not very informative at all
Treacherous trail 😂😂😂
A gimmick, like most drive modes
