I started getting into e-books in 2018-2019, and I remember my excitement for my first Kindle from back then: it was a “basic” 8GB Kindle Paperwhite, but I still was like 🎉🥳🎊😆❤️ 🎉🥳🎊😆❤️ 🎉🥳🎊😆❤️ And that excitement was the same when I switched to the Paperwhite Signature Edition (32GB) I got in mid-2022. 😄💖
I've had the Kindle app for years on my phones that I've had (and still do for the reading streak and the color of the book covers) and my husband (also named Micheal) got me my kindle last year for my birthday and he got me a pink magnetic cover for it. :) Happy Reading!
The paper white is only in black and white and only books. Where as the kindle fire that I have is basically a iPad. It’s color and you can do games on it as well.
I highly recommend not using a shiny screen protector. It defeats the purpose of the e-ink and will be way too reflective. Get a matte screen protector or just don’t use one. I’ve never used one and never had my screen scratches but I use a sleeve when not using.
You can’t change the background on a Kindle, only switch between Light (black text on a white page) or Dark (white text on a black page) mode - and change the font, the margins and so on.
If you want the book covers, graphic novels, etc to be in color you'll have to get a Kindle Fire. I like them for manga but the battery life not near as good as regular Kindle readers obviously. I have so many different Kindle Fires. Plus you can play games, watch videos, etc on them. Congrads on the Agave green Kindle. I have that one and love it!

I bet. It’s always sooo many good one and the kindle is small so you can’t use all the ones you want. I LOVE my kindle. I’ve had her almost a year and she’s cute!

Digital reading is tricky but I thought they manufactured kindles to be easy on the eyes, especially the paperwhite. 😊
That's the reason a lot of people get kindle. It helps with eye strain

There are many ereaders that use color. Several run android so you can use kindle Kobo and Everand on it. Meebook, Bigme and Boox are all good ones.

Color E ink is very expensive and until Amazon can find a way to make it cheaper they won’t produce a color E ink kindle.
