Thanks. Great project. NOW: How bought doing the 5min Flow Profiling mod on the Breville and try playing with Scott Rao’s “bloom” shots, going all the way to Turkish? And more profiles? And going for a variety of beans all the way to Nordic light roasts. I don’t think it’s fair to judge the grinders on one Ethiopian. It would be fantastic for enthusiasts to have a definitive guide to hi-end grinders. Especially, to find out whether the Niche Zero for $600 (or is it $800) is good enough. (And further to see if a profiling Breville DB can bring it to close enough to rival a $10K Slayer)
Home come you preferred the EK43S to the regular EK? Does the S have the new coffee burrs but the old EK is still on original? We're gonna get another EK for the shop, we have a modified tall one, but i'm erring towards another tall as it's easier to grind retail bags on them - there isn't quite enough clearance on the S.
The EK didn't actually get tested-- sorry, now watching back I see that I didn't state that. But I agree with you on the clearance, I ground some bags for friends on the S and was annoyed. And yes, I did have both MK coffee burrs-- this will be examined in a forthcoming clip.
Wow! you have the potential to make a great grinder showdown, please make an in depth review and comparison between each and every one of these grinders in grind quality and consistency Whether for pourover or espresso.
Great overview. Just curious why you did not include any of the Ceado grinders? I would be very interested in your opinion of the Ceado E37SD single dose grinder. Thank you for your videos, they are a great resource!
Two of the three are modified dosing grinders that weren’t designed for SD. The third is so wildly expensive (at least here in the US) that it makes the most expensive ones shown in the video seem cheap
@@michael_j_fabian I take that to mean the E37SD can not compete with a grinder that is designed to be a single dose grinder. Thank you so much! I was considering buying that grinder. It would however be useful to see the E37SD compared to your top picks to see what the real life differences are. Cheers!
Hi Brian! Happy to help! I had to draw a line at some point, and as a result the EG-1 & other 80mms didn't make the cut. The ozik sure looks neat-- the more the merrier!
@@michael_j_fabian Still worth the effort I'd say, maybe as a separate review. I think especially because it's potentially versatile with its magnetic burr mounts. It would be interesting to see how it performs across espresso and filter with the different setups
Hi Michael! It would be nice if you added some on screen visuals (in terms of numbers, ranking, subject topic). You have a very relaxed informal way of speaking, but sometimes it is a bit difficult to follow the main point. :)
Its not about winning. He is one person with limited time and money. He used only one coffee entity and I guess one recipe for coffee. Its a nice overview but imo can in now way determine a generalized ranking and thats not his claim. This is entertainment and his personal preference. I am thankful for the work he put into it.

nice overview, looking forward to a longer more indepth review of each esp showing in action or showing the extraction from espresso machine
That's a drool-worthy assortment of grinders. Damnn!

Audio level is all over the place!
Any reason the Weber eg1 is not included?

May I ask what grind setting did you use on the Niche Zero? Thanks.

I should add that Ceado offers three single dose coffee grinders.

@@davidnye1084 have you decided on a grinder yet dave?
@@kondko No I have not. I would like to see a comparison of the Ceado E37SD and the grinders you reviewed. I really like the Ceado build.
how do you like he BDB i heard its good but how is it as espresso tastes
The rumors are true- it’s a fantastic tool for pulling shots
Were you going to talk about the filter coffee winners?
Wrap-up video is next 👍
You’re using a $500 espresso machine with a multi-thousand dollar grinder?!
You need a better microphone. For all your videos I have to dial the volume to the max.
Subtitles and Captions would be super useful for this video because it's a great work...also a table of data!
Hey Michael, this was super helpful!!!
When are ya gonna toss an EG-1 in the mix? Also thought son the upcoming OZIK25?
Thanks,
Brian

How is your opinion on Ceado E37SD grinder? Or even the top of the line of single dose grinder from Ceado? 🤔
@@michael_j_fabian Any specific reason why the EG-1 "didn't make the cut"? Is this an implicit judgement on its quality?

If I'm to upgrade the stock EK43s burrs for filter coffee mainly, what burrs would you recommanded?
As I still can't speak for the SSP old MK geometry clone, I can't recommend you swap out for "better" filter coffee than the current burrs you have
No Lyn Weber?? Whose EG-1 would have won this!
