HimanshuK K yes he is very right. Good roads, less braking, constant speed preferably as he has shown. @80kmph in the highest possible gear gives good mileage. I get 23-27kmpl like that on my 2014 COROLLA Altis petrol on highway driving. It is true. I had tested this myself long before watching this video. Also I do higher gear shifts @1500-1700rpm (rarely 2000rpm or more unless more pickup required), being as light as possible on the accelerator in city traffic....unless someone starts honking me, LOL! this too gives me anywhere between 10-15kmpl.
otherwise gear shifts between 2000-3000rpm in city traffic gives 9-11kmpl.
So ultimately your car's upkeep, tire pressure, fuel, road condition, traffic condition and driving style all together have an effect on the fuel efficiency achieved.

most people waste fuel by driving above 120 km/hr on highways and at that speed they are forced to apply hard brakes because of traffic, this will drastically increase fuel consumption.

all cars will deliver best mileage when they are driven within the range of 70 to 90 km/hr

Agrees with you. I also Have City Zx automatic. In city she gives about 9-11 depending how you drive it and at highway she gives 16-19 at 100-120kmh.

the tip is try to drive mostly at 5th gear and use break n clutch less for good milage
I have already covered the points u have mentioned in my Tips. If u brake less automatically the clutch will be used less. And the u have to maintain a speed. And i dont know about others but im getting decent 20 to 27 kmpl on highways...

U can even push your petrol car mileage into onther level
-Do regularly tyre balanceing and wheel algintment all 4 tyres in every 2500kms
-Change regularly spark plug,Air filter,Fuel filter,Coolant, gear oil, engine oil,brake pads
-Always maintain air pressure at all 4 tyres
-avoid speed brakeing
-Keep a regular speed of 70kmph
-And use engine braking
the Person who saying wrong to this video are very much wrong about Honda City 2003-2008 series. Constant Speed no Breaking Keep RPM near to 2 can do anything I also get same mileage on my Honda City 2006 IDSi 8 Plug engine. Last day I traveled 130 KM after fuel tank and Needle even didn't move. my mostly average on long trip is 22 KM/l
I set cruise control to 45mph and keep it in 6th gear. I get between 38-46 mpg from a 1.6 naturally aerated car. Driving technique plays a huge factor. Towns and cities are where I see it go down :(

This may be possible. The problem is that one cannot drive at very Slow speed like 70-80 on highways like Yamuna Express or Chandigarh express way with a car like Honda City. In Honda City IVTEc model there is a display that shows Average /Litre. but it seems new Honda version became poor in average by adding extra Weight or other electronic features. Today the value is of time and as we know Time = Money. at the speed of 120 Km /hour the car gave an average of 16 Km/litre. Morever going at very slow speed means more Journey time and will make a person more tired at the end of day.
Honda city zx cannot give 27 mileage. it's my challenge.

guys, even my car gives the same mileage, reason behind is we fill our tank completely full, this means over filled, even after the gauge shows full we won't stop filling petrol. so the petrol will get filled up to petrol cap. Also he says 70 to 80 kmps, which gives good fuel efficiency.
Cherian Joseph thats good that ur car also gives great mileage... but whether u fill petrol full or not... the consumption will not change...
But driving with only 70-80 km/h will. For example i drove my 179 km on cruise control set to 120 km/h and my car needed around 10.1 L/ per 100 km. If i set it at 75 wich is the lowest i can get in 6th gear without getting to low on revs. I got 5.9 L/100 km wich is 3 L under factory specification (8.9 L /100 km). It is possible. But only works if you can go a constant low speed wich is not the case for most trips.
The other extreme is going full throttle for a long period of time. I got around 22 L /100 km with an average speed of around 180 km/h (Germany Autobahn only driving the speed limit where it was restricted and the rest flat out 260 km/h where traffic allowed it). the same 179 back. The factor speed has a giant impact on consumption wich is more important then everything else. even 20 km/h can make quite a difference.

Actually it’s not fake or he fitted CNG guys, Petrol pump guys ll fill the tank till top of lid, coz of that it take a lot time to get down from F, once it get down from F it ll get down fast. Coz of that once he covered 200KM it started getting down fast.

It's not possible to get an average of 27kmpl but it can give near about 20 because VTEC engine is designed such that it gives performance+average both the rule and working of enigne is if you drive at low rpm you will get good average and if you want performance then it has the maximum potential of 7600rpm so if you want the VTEC kick just accelerate the pedal

Good to see the same car of mine i got a max of 17 kmpl in highways but yes you are quite right on your tips...i drive quite rash and zoom in the roads but still i makeit more than 14 in highways and 9+ in city.. this Vtech model has a variable timing engine if we tune it quite well we can get the best of it..

but give it a different names like maruti calls it vvt engine, hyundai calls it vtvt, honda calls it vtec, Toyota calls it something else and etc...

Its very simple.
Daily, if your driving involves minimal or zero highway usage, and the car is mostly crawling around city at less than 70kmh, your fuel consumption will be at its WORST.
How fantastic your fuel consumption is, depends on how much highway driving is involved. Even if you maintain 140kmh on the highway for 250km, the fuel consumption would still be much BETTER compared to only city crawling below 70kmh.
On my 2010 Honda City (non CVT gearbox), I can easily get 18km/liter based on continued cruising on the highway at 130kmh with a best of 21km/liter
Since the above test City uses a CVT gearbox, 27km/liter is indeed POSSIBLE, and believable.

I did same and got mileage of around 30kms...
Then i found that even after fuel indicator was showing full tank, we added around 15ltr of petrol.
I request you to pls do this by adding limited fuel in ur car tank and not by topping up the tank.
But if u dont top up the fuel tank then how will u get to know that how much fuel u have used ?

Check your fuel tank float. In aome car it tend to lower very fast after 150 km. Calculate milage on tank full to full

In older cars fuel measuring float sensor shows wrong reading on the fuel indication dial. First of all fuel indicator keep on showing full after driving atleast 100 km. Than it has tendency to go down quickly.

You are in Gujarat, so you can maintain constant speed! Here in Maharashtra, there are lots of potholes & speedbreakers on roads. Maintaining constant speed is nearly impossible!!!

Hi buddy, which gear were you driving, top or four. Ku ki Mumbai goa high way par 5th gear mushkil se lagta he. Aur ye Road pe Meri swift car 18-20 ka average deti he.

cheting he doesn't refill his tank fully. He need to top up the tank with additional fuels, then it will consume more liter of fuel.
how can u say that i didnt refill the tank Fully !!! At the beginning of my journey i filled the tank till the pump stopped automatically. And at the time of refill also i did the same. What is wrong in it can u plz tell me ?

Ya but jab journey start karo tab jis tarah se tank full karo wese hi refill karte waqt kiya. Means first stop pe stopped filling petrol. Tab to thik hua na. Means jab journey start ki thi tab bhi esa hi kiya tha. So tab bhi 5-7 ltr kam hi dala na tank me... got it ?

and when i bought my car in 2006 the Sales Executive said this car will give u 19 kmpl with AC... i easily get abt 23-24 kmpl fuel efficiency... and which model do u have? i have vtec with alloy wheels, Bridgestone tubeless wheels...

this mileage can be achieved only on toll road without speed breaker and have to drive less than 80 kmph. with 2 passenger . it's ridiculous. renault sucks in mileage . my ten year civic car gives that mileage of I drive like that. else you will get mileage around 14 on regular Indian roads
you r right... but my car gives decent average even on bad roads and city driving also...
recently i went to Saputara. ( a hill station abt 175 km away from Surat)
the roads were washed away coz of heavy rain, it was a pathetic road there. u cant go even over 40 km/h...and that also on mountain-hilly roads though i managed very good mileage... of abt 19 kmpl...!
the car was full of luggage and with 4 adult passengers...!

+Variety Videos You are correct . but my point Is even a 10 year old car gives decent mileage but new generation car with new technology lages behind old . When you take Scorpio it gives 12 kmpl irrespective of load road and speed. it's a constant and decent one for powerful engine

hi... 12 kmpl on Highway or city driving? And 12 kmpl is too low... ppl get abt 16 kmpl... and ya this tips are really helpful... i dnt say that u will touch 27 kmpl mark but u can surely improve a bit... when i drive my car i get high fuel efficiency but when my dad drives the same car, fuel efficiency goes down...

First get that car checked by your mechanic... he can have a better idea about the condition of the car. And is it a VTEC model ? Vtec is a better engine... 2.5 lac is a good deal if the condition of the car is good... also check tire conditions.
