Shooting farmyard feral pigeons with an air rifle

- Instagram star Dan Thor goes back to his roots, shooting feral pigeons around the farmyard with an air rifle. The gun is a step up from his old break-barrel Weihrauch - it’s a fancy new Air Arms S510 fitted with a Hawke scope. The birds are proving tricky, and it’s difficult to see them clearly inside the barns, but with a bit of help from James’s drone Dan manages a decent bag, learns a few lessons along the way, and rediscovers the joy of pottering around the farmyard with an airgun just as his father did years ago.

Why shoot feral pigeons?
Feral pigeons are a farmyard pest that eat livestock feeds and cause farmyard hygiene issues: they crap all over the place, spoiling feed and spreading disease. The environment departments all agree they can be shot. They are on the ‘general licences’ for shooting so that, mainly, airgunners can target them. We use airguns, because the pellets do not cause damage to farm buildings when we shoot them in barn rafters. - Спорт

Feral pigeons.... do you know the difference or is it anything that resembles one
There are lots of types of pigeon wood pigeon, feral pigeon and lots more kinds wood pigeon is the most common
Feral pigeon have more colour than wood pigeon
Feral pigeons look more scruffy and have the weird shiny pink and blue patches and wood pigeons tend to be fatter and when they fly they have one white stripe on each wing
Has he got a General Licences from DEFRA? He seems to be rather close to public rights of way too...
Thanks for this. He has, indeed, got a 'general licence', as do you (if you are in the UK) and I. It is a glorious British bureaucratic swerve to ban birdshooting entirely and then re-legalise it in the same law. / Charlie
I think someone needs to learn how general licenses work....
Wack those wood pigeons --not feral pigeons !
