on windows 10, go to control panel> programs> turn windows features on or off> and disable internet explorer 11. Then it should tell you what to do from there. Hope this helps anyone else as well.

WEIRD: you said download the jdk, and you installed the jdk zip, so i downloaded that, and i was just looking at random files for like 10 minutes until i had enough, went back to oracle and installed the .exe installed that jdk in exe, and it finally worked, i tried installed the RE thing, jarfix, java se, everything didnt work and the jdk finally made it open, Thank you

there is one, JUST ONE, .jar file that doesn't work with the batch method on my pc. when I click on the batch file made for it, it just creates another text document instead of running the .jar file

You might have the default opening program to internet explorer. If you right click and open with you can change that

Go to properties and then you will find winrar icon.
Them change it with the file that you wish to open with. I hope it helps.
probably don't care anymore, but select "Choose another app" under open with, select your java folder, find the bin folder, and find "javaw"

when i try to open it it says that: the code execution cannot proceed because jli.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem
