- (1959) Tired of Fibber ignoring his requests to make repairs to the shop he leases from McGee, Mr. Pritchard moves into a vacant storefront across the street. Fibber's not concerned because he's rented the space to a gallery owner who has signed an iron-clad seven year lease for a substantial increase in rent. When McGee learns that the gallery is really a shooting gallery and all his other tenants are threatening to move out, he's in a pickle - especially since the gallery owner refuses to move unless he's paid $300 in cash for the inconvenience he's been caused.
Fibber McGee and Molly was the finest husband and wife comedy team. It ran on the radio from 1935 to 1959 then switched to television in 1959. Its running gags and characters inspired many imitators.

I don't recall seeing Fibber McGee and Molly as a TV show, but I do remember hearing it as a radio show on Armed Forces Radio when I was stationed in Japan in 1971/72.
I was 4 in 1959 and don’t remember thiis show. I do remember my parents making reference to McGee’s closet from the radio series. I must say, though, the best part was the claymation opening.
I would swear that the garden shed seen at the beginning is the same as the one in Mr. Ed the talking horse.
thank you!
